How about the Padres flat-lining blunder (not scoring for 24 straight innings) to let the Dodgers into the NLCS, the Dodgers should’ve even have been playing the Yankees in the WS
The problem for the Yankees isn't that they makes all sorts of small mistakes. The problem for the Yankees is that management *accepts* that and expects skill to overcome the mistakes. That's good enough to make the postseason. *Then* those small mistakes are the difference between two good teams.
Even Fat Joe would know to send out Blake to give Cole a breather during that 5th inning. Boone just stands there blowing bubbles and picking his nose.
Rizzo WAITING on Soft Grounder Instead of RUSHING it Made No Sense to Me...He EASILY Beats Runner to Bag if He Rushes The Ball...WHY Wait For Pitcher to Cover???...Judge Dropped Fly Ball Yanks Were STILL up 5-0...What About What Happened AFTER??...Blaming Judge For This Loss is Kinda Ridiculous to Me
That ball had spin. the smart defensive play is to play it like he did to make sure it doesn't get past you or you bobble it. And you don't have to worry about it, because your pitcher should be there for you to throw it to...
100%. Cole should have covered but Rizzo should make that play on his own. That was the play that cost them this game. Rizzo moves his ass and they are out of that inning with a 5-0 lead despite 2 errors. The other thing that drives me crazy in this era of baseball is how in the world was Freeman not put on his ass at least one pitch after looking like he’s been playing PlayStation baseball! I’m not saying hit him but a little up and in to make the guy move his feet a little is a no brainer.
@@ddsara6566 Or Rizzo moves his ass and the ball bounces off of his glove because it's spin makes it go further toward 2nd than initially thought. That's why you play it the way he did. That was not Rizzo's fault. He played it properly.
@@desiv1170 sorry I watched the play a few times. Yes the ball was spinning to his right a little. You think Mattingly or Hernandez or in today’s game Mountcastle, Lowe, or Santana don’t make that play? Even when Rizzo realizes Cole is not there hustle and dive to the bag. Betts was about half way down the line.
@@ddsara6566 I think Mattingly would have played it like Rizzo, because it was the right way to play it. Because you don't know yet what the spin will do. It was a hard hit ball with spin. And the runner is fast and charging. You don't judge it based on what it did. You judge it based on what it might do. And you know your pitcher will cover, so the right way to play it is how he did.
Let's be fair now judge said there was a sun in his eyes😂😂😂. Nobody's like Reggie Jackson😊👍❤️. Aaron judge reminds me of Dave Winfield. Absent in the playoffs never gets a hit when you need it. Winfield used to get his RBIs when the Yankees were already winning by 7 runs. Never in a clutch he would either bounce out pop up strike out. We used to call him Dave Losefield 😂😂.
George called Winfield Mr. May, so Aaron could be the new Mr. May 2.0. I think of Aaron Judge as the Dak Prescott of baseball. He leads his team to the playoffs with a good record, then he disappears and goes into the witness protection program every year.
game 5 felt like it took place in another dimension. i watched it from this weird mathematical cosmic plane and the players were just numbers. and the yankees decided to be bad numbers from all the fudamental flaws the team showed during the regular season, instead of deciding to be the good numbers of all the things they did right.
Judge didn’t even have to jump for the ball he caught. The fact that he did jump and make it look dramatic is proof that hes an average defender at best
@michaelmegyeri5903 But it was leadoff batter and Cespades hadn't played centerfield for the METS. So it set the tone. Not a good one. Mets come back take lead going to btm 9th w Familia, MVP w Cespades, trying to quick pitch leadoff batter allows tying HR. Mets lose. Still pains me.
The dodgers had more hustle, run the bases better, better fielding team, better lineup from top to bottom, better bullpen its a bull pen world now better, manager too
Whenever I hear "Positive Tommy" on the radio it reminds me of the time he whined and yelled on the over night show that he was doing at that time that his idol Jacob d'Grom was not re-signed by Cohen. It was pathetic the way he would do that all night long for several shows. Also, his Yankee hating agenda just makes me hope and wish that it would be another 38 years before his beloved Mets win another World Series and even that would be way too soon.
Evan you use the word mercenary too much... Sorry, but from one Mets fan to another, the Dodgers are not individual mercenaries anymore, they are a team... What makes me sick is that you'd be upset that the Yankees lost... You should be thrilled considering who you root for just as I am.
Casuals are still defending the lazy play of Cole not covering 1st base. Even in Little League, the first thing they teach you as a pitcher when the ball goes to 1st base, your job is to cover 1st base. Stop being obtuse. That's why NY stinks, no accountability. Even frackin Cole couldn't take ownership. He basically did an Ole play. What a fracking joke.
Respect, from a Dodgers fan, for the Yankees and their tradition. Good series, we know how post-season heartbreak feels, that's baseball. Until next year...
Judge will be fine....the drop fly ball was bad....but it wasn't in G7 or G6....it was G5 where they were fighting an uphill battle of coming back from 3 0 down....and still no team has ever forced a g6 when down 3 0...for world series
It’s simple everyone, the Yanks just couldn’t handle the pressure and the bright lights. Now that they have some experience, maybe they’ll do better next time. These guys are just human after all…
Great Teams do NOT go bonehead in games like this......the Yankees did.
How about the Padres flat-lining blunder (not scoring for 24 straight innings) to let the Dodgers into the NLCS, the Dodgers should’ve even have been playing the Yankees in the WS
Nope the Mets should have been
Judge's defense went from Willie Mays in the 4th to Bill Buckner in the 5th
You're rant about Aaron Boone was perfectly stated. I've never even seen him give a player a dirty look after loafing down to first
Volpe and Cole/Rizzo plays can be understood but the judge play was a no brainer. Still the Yankees had many other opportunities after the judge drop

Great Dodger win! I'm glad we ended it in the Bronx.

Dodgers fly home on Patriots private jet 😂
A bad taste? People have been spitting and rinsing like there's no tomorrow. There's also been a run on breath mints and tic tacs.
Now the Yankees are calling him Aaron Bleepin' Boone, too.
Yankees mistake and what cost them the series was to continue to pitch to Freeman. 12 RBIs was the difference.
Especially game 1
Dodgers were gifted by the Yankees
Good take on Dominguez and Boone 🎯

@ricky5954 very good excellent. True and very funny 🤣🤣🤣.
The ghost of 'Eight men out'. Happy Halloween!
Well said Evan!!!!!
To me Rizzo looks like a slow baseball player. The way he moves the way he swings the bat the way he fields he just seems slow to me physically.
He didn't look like that in 2016 when his Cubs team won the World series

Had a flashback to Cespades in 2015
W. S. Opener, allowing lead off inside-the-park HR.

Whoever won deserved to win. Mistakes are part of every game.
That makes no sense. If that was the case, there'd be no stats for ERRORS made. Bozo. The Yankees beat themselves in one inning.
No silly, Freeman and Treoscar still had to get hits off Cole to drive in those additional 4 runs.
