Can we talk about how Gaius is Zeus, the Greek God who was notorious for being unfaithful and cruel, but Gaius is faithful, loving and kind? I love that sort of contrast.
Reminds me of the relationship with Osiris (Ollie) and Anubis (Drew). Osiris was Anubis's father but Drew is Ollie's butler and caretaker.
These espers are only channeling the power of gods, a conduit if you will. They're not the actual gods themselves. That's why they got two names on their profile. Gaius is his real name, and Zeus is the God he got the power of.

In Hyde’s back story it’s said after Hannah’s death he disconnected himself from everyone he became distant and cold to the world burying himself in his work the only person he ever talks to is pandora
just realized this means Hyde and Gaius just like in myth are basically brothers since Hannah was his wife and Hyde’s sister

This trailer is... incredible, learning more about the character in this video left me shocked, I actually cried in the part where he loses his partner.
It doesn't matter if I don't get it in the game, this character became one of my favorites.

Damn dislyte goes hard in its character backstories. I do wish at least one was happy (the amount of characters motivated by dead spouses is a little high) but I still love the stories!
Yeah that's getting overdone. It's not a requirement for someone to have lost a spouse or parent to have a good backstory but it's an easy route I guess.
It sucks coming back to this now that they've tarnished everything Gaius stood for

Wow I didn't expect to get emotionally wrecked when I clicked on this trailer, but here we are! It's really unique and amazing that a little mobile game like Dislyte can have characters who are more than just a cool image on screen. They're people with their own motivations and lives and feelings on par with what you'd find in, say, a small scale visual novel. I'm really impressed with this one, Devs!
I love the lore we are getting! According to Hyde’s story, Hannah was his sister and after her death he left the Union and started building the Shadow Decree. Grief and loss affects everyone differently, I only wished Gaius and Hyde remained close and worked together

This is like the perfect mix of the standard Super Saiyan backstory and the death of Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie. Dare I say, there's even references with some of the posing when Gaias is holding Hannah in his arms. I love finding those little details.

While this is really well-done, massive props, I really hope y'all give some characters backstories that... don't involve a loved one dying. Ophelia, Zora, Jiang Jiuli, Ollie-- all of these new five-stars, along with others, all have it as a major part of their backstory. I get it's realistic for the setting, but it starts to get a little same-ish. But if it's well-done like this, guess I can't complain too much.
Gaius's voice sounds like a very serious government boss, very deep, so he is the boss of the whole union?
