Looks like a winner! Basically converts the K03 into the same style as the EdgePro but of course better... Magnets hold the blade to the table, scissors attachment, the extension for wider blades, the precision of the K03. I greatly appreciate the innovation from your company. The Leading edge accessories that I have are outstanding. (KME Multi-Function Frame upgrade, Knob for my K03) I am looking forward to using the Universal kit with my K03. Great Job! 😎👍

Check the position of your blade when you reverse it and sharpen the other side, and lightly hold it in position with your free hand (if necessary) while sharpening so it does not move around too much. Use the vertical knife support if you have a saber type grind. If you want to keep to the same sharpening angle as the original angle on your knife then use a sharpie pen to color the edge and see if you're removing all the sharpie when starting your sharpening. If you want to grind it to a lower angle then it will take some time to set the new bevel as you'll need to remove more metal before you apex your edge. Most importantly, don't move on to finer stones until you've fully apexed your edge - until you feel a burr on both sides (one side at a time).
@@dustinwhitt5297 You will will typically only get the burr develop on one side at a time, the opposite side to what you are sharpening. Once you feel that happening, you know that you have fully apexed your edge.
I just got this in for my K03 but I can’t seem to be able to achieve the right angle with this set up. Do you have any pointers that might help me out?
Sure! Are you sharpening a Full flat grind knife by any chance? If so, have you compensated for the blade grind perhaps? The magnets will hold your blade flat on one side / face of the blade, so you need to add half of the angle of the primary grind to your sharpening angle if it's a full flat grind knife. If you're sharpening a saber type grind with a small flat parallel section at the spine end then you can use the vertical blade support in the front of the unit to center the blade and keep it from rocking on the magnets.
@@cody3078If you have a digital angle cube, you can measure the primary grind with it. You can also use a laser edge goniometer if, by chance you have one.
Only Gritomatic manufactures and sells them, I'm sure they will have them available again soon. All of the Leading Edge upgrades are very popular and often sold out but not for long before they re-stock. Ask them about availability in the following link - www.gritomatic.com/pages/contact-us
It works well, I've sharpened Microtech Ultratech knives on it. The best way to do a grind like the ultratech dagger grind, is to place the bevel opposite to the one you're sharpening down on the magnets, and then using the vertical knife support under the edge you're sharpening. Works very well this way. You'll just have to compensate for the sharpening angle because the sharpening side bevel pointing will be pointed upwards, if you know what I mean?
@@jarrettm3728 Let the one side of the dagger bevel lay flat and secure on the magnets, then position the vertical knife support up to touch the other bevel on the side that lies over the edge of the magnetic table.

I'm glad you like my designs, thank you kindly for the feedback and your nice words of praise! Much appreciated!
very cool. I was about to place an order for some k03 clamps for scissors and fillet knives when I came across this.
I'm so looking forward to trying this out with my kadet and the venev diamond stones! Not having the clamp or rotate is going to be awesome!
Let me know if you have any questions when you get it! Enjoy!
@@777edge what are the most important steps in using this attachment and just how strong are the magnets?

Any estimate when this will be back in stock? Gritomatic has been sold out the last few times I checked. Or is there anywhere else to purchase?
