    In case nobody knows, Macron is also a monarch. He is the co-prince of Andorra. So singing the British anthem for the king is not a problem.

    I think the national anthem of the United Kingdom was also the National anthem of the Kingdom of France before. and the original version of the anthem is from the french right?

      "Dieu sauve le Roi", was indeed a retake of "God Save the king", but France never had a National anthem until the Rev and the adoption of La Marseillaises as our National Anthem.
      But God save the King is one of the most famous song that still today contries use it at their National Anthem or have use it in the past (Russian Empire, German Empire, Liechtenstein, Rodezia in the first month of the régime and a lot of French and English post-colonial state have use it waiting for a proper Anthem.
      And God Save the King is a pure Brit'ish création

Our respect for all who were, finaly and forever, like the God soldiers! In order for their admirable and nice examples not be ignored, let's pray, nowadays and very often, for God! As Nigel Farage said in his last speech in the EU Parliament, they don't hate Europe, matter of fact, they love it. What they hate is the political aspect of the European Union. When he announced his intention to candidate for the House of Commons, he said that he was deeply saddened by the fact that a poll showed that 50% of British teenagers don't exactly know what D-Day is.

      That is not true.
      Initially, it was thought that just some 20,000 soldiers could be rescued. In the end over 330,000 were saved A THIRD OF THEM FRENCH.

      What a crass, ignorant comment

    • @lionsjourney29
      @lionsjourney29 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      The Brit troops had fallen after the Battle of France and the evacuation failed, the likelihood of the war being fought in the known time frame would close to Zero. The BEF that evacuated became the core troops that would become the British ground forces for the rest of the war. However the troops worry me less. A failure of the evacuation would have been the result of a loss of air control over the channel and even the sea lanes, both being such that the Royal Navy and RAF could not defend or evacuate dunkirk the loss of aircraft and ships in that failure would have severely endangered Britain. With a risk of the country surrendering the Island altogether and hopefully the government set up shop in Canada with the royal family. All these would have likely resulted in a greater delay to us entry to the war which happened almost 3% years after Dunkirk and because of Japan.
      All I’m saying a withdrawal is not always a bad thing, and before even the last troop had left Dunkirk Paris had fallen if I remember correctly with the French troops in the beach heads going to Britain and forming the free French movement

      Left her men? Any German advance west would mean 1 step to closer British
      Britain already proved you wrong by saving France in battle of Neuve Chapel
      Ww2 was tactical retreat for another victory
      Btw french ruled a part of the world. How comes they don't fight for themself in their own country?
      Why should working class Brits keep risking their lives? For what? So France can keep sending it's illegals into UK.
      You can keep your own mess. Next time you ask Britain for help. You learn to put up or go speak German. Not an issue for working class UK.
