A Drive on the Wild side

  • There's no arguing with the Ford Ranger's sales success as it has consistently been Europe's best-selling pick-up truck over the last few years. The Ford Ranger Wildtrak is proof that you can use a workhorse of a commercial vehicle as an everyday car. It's big, but relatively easy to drive and has four doors plus space for five humans. That makes it as usable as any SUV. But the Ranger Wildtrak's trump card is its carrying capacity. There's not much the Ranger can't haul with styling tweaks such as 18-inch alloy wheels and a sporty set of seats. The Ranger Wildtrak looks fabulous from any angle, and you and your passengers alike will enjoy the pick-up's wide range of creature comforts. Few commercial vehicles can touch the Ford Ranger Wildtrak when it comes to all-round desirability. If you can stretch to the extra cost, and fancy a pick-up with extra kerb appeal, this is the only model you should consider.
The latest Ford Ranger Wildtrak has had a complete redesign for its looks, practicality and certain under the skin components. The chassis is still the same that’s been used for more than a decade, but almost everything else has changed. The most obvious difference between this Ranger and the previous model is the distinctive grille and headlights. Ford calls the design C-clamp headlights. They mimic the US design found on the F-150 The grille is more rectangular and upright, and at the rear there’s the Ranger name stamped in the tailgate, and there is of course Wiltrak badges on the rear and lower flanks of the truck.
The Ford Ranger Wildtrak has always been a pleasant truck to drive on the road. Compared to Toyota Hilux, it is far quieter, handles better and has less body roll. There is a degree of bouncing that you get from pick-up trucks, but it’s a lot less intrusive than in previous models.
As in past models, the Ranger's high-set driving position means it offers a commanding view that's far better than in any SUV. Additionally, the Wildtrak comes with front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system that displays views on the high-resolution touchscreen.

Not just for 'boys'. We've had ours for a week and a half and I love driving it. You're right - it doesn't feel as big as it is. Our first new vehicle in 40+ years - it better not let us down. It has big shoes to fill as it replaced our 2nd hand 100 series LC.

Have had our new Wildtrak for a week and a half and we love it, came out of a 2006 Hilux sr5 which was a great car as well and I will miss her. But this is incredible to drive it’s so smooth and quiet ,we have the 3lt V6 we are in Australia. Can’t wait to do some long trips !!

These are great family cars for families who go on camping holidays, towing a trailer or caravan or biking at weekends or trip to the tip or taking the kid to Uni.

Thanks for the vidéo,great as usual,i got mine this morning,it's a ''limited'' edition, not sure you have it in the UK,it's between the XLT and the Wildtrack,i took it for a little spin and i think there is too much pressure in the tyres,i ll deflate them to 2 bar,coz it's really hard, for the rest it's awesome, really close to a SUV in many ways...

7:15 its not for builders its hitting the family that needs to go camping instead of a landcruiser dropping kids off at school.

@@WrightyOvBmet I'm not far behind you at 5'10. I've just ordered 23 version Ranger.... and spent another £50 on a pair of aftermarket struts from a 4x4 supplier.

The way you depict builders is childish. Review the truck for what it is
