I love kitchens with black cabinets! The grey countertops are so stunning and modern. I definitely think marble backsplash was the right choice. I know a lot of people are commenting about the original brick and wood colors, but I love the understated look of natural materials painted neutral tones. Black/white/grey washes over natural textures is such a beautiful look! I feel so inspired by this kitchen 😍
Really love your kitchen transformation ! I actually like the white paint over the brickwork. I thought that the red would be a bit overpowering. I understand your need for the black divider between the fridge and shelves but I felt it took away from the overall appeal. And I love your coffee machine. And the sparkling water tap.
Love love love this transformation!! So different from the style common here in the US but I love it! Please do a video on that espresso machine, I’m very intrigued by it!
I agree! Coming from the US, I was wondering why they didn't blow the wall out into the living room and add an island, but I've realized a lot of houses in Europe and Australia are way more sectioned off. Looks great either way!
MissPink273 yea but i feel it would feel soo much bigger if they made it more of an open concept, and other than that I don’t like the microwave in the pantry
Design a kitchen that will be out of the standard always will be amazing! You made it for you and most important, to enjoy it. As Interior designer specialized in kitchens, I have to say the purpose for the refrigerator panel is to put the cabinet on top, in front alligned with the appliance, check this :) Great renovation and enjoy it!
I finally found a real extreme makeover! This was not just a "click bait" title, like it is for most "extreme makeover" video I've seen, you guys made a wonderful job!
Absolutely superb makeover!! I'm just loving this series!! Really hope you include a backyard/garden/patio makeover too!! We will all be spending more time in our outdoor spaces just now, so that would be great. Tfs ❤
Ofc the new kitchen looks amazing but i rly dont like it. I would have used the lower kitchen cabins and made it more of a farmhouse style kitchen. When I saw the befor shots i lovd the kitchen. The wood and brick was a dream..
Büsra Halime Süheyla right when I saw her painting Over it I was like thank you, I hate it. It’s their house and they love it and they’ll live in it so I’m happy for them I just keep thinking about how hard it is to come across genuine exposed brick :(
sometimes ppl just want/need a change, it might look beautiful to someone else but if you are wanting a drastic change (change is as good as a holiday) you sometimes do drastic things.
Absolutely stunning. Love it. I would have left the window in the pantry and just frosted it so no direct sunlight, but it’s all personal preference. And I will be getting the black SS appliances in the future when it’s time, really a nice look
I absolutely loved the end kitchen but I also loved the before kitchen because it had so much character, I definitely hated the tile though. I think I love them both equally! They’re just completely different vibes so it’s hard to compare
That's the first thing that popped to my mind. Why enclose the fridge like that. It cuts light and also stops you from opening the fridge's doors fully. The rest of the kitchen looks great though.
Love me a black kitchen. Gorgeous job guys, so much better than before! Was so excited when I realised how long this video was! By far my fave renovators on TH-cam at the mo. Bring on the next one. P.S. Us Tassie girls LOVE our tea! X
Looks terrific and I love your color choices! I also liked the fact that you left out the "tilt bars" on your shutters. I did the same thing in my home and it makes the shutters look so much cleaner! Stay well you guys!!
Love the molasses & pudding colors but you could probably use more of your wood elements to warm it up. Good job but here are some questions: Why would you hang a shelf over your new ‘cooker’ with metal brackets? - and - why not place something in the middle of the kitchen so you’re not going on a hike to get to what you need? I also don’t understand that cabinet wall going up higher than the fridge, looks like a mistake and the door can’t open all the way. Love pantries!
HOLY SHIT IT LOOKS AMAZINGGGGG!!! still think the tile back splash would have looked better with the white shiny tile but it still looks insane!!! So looking forward to the next episode!
Its a beautiful kitchen and although you have the black worktop, cupboards, sinks etc. with the white walls its still light which is fab! Love the plantation white shutters, I hope to get some when we do our makeover in the near future! Excellent!
Love it 😍....only thing would have done differently but would be to. forget about the cupboard above the sink & taken out the wall or part of behind the sink ..maybe have a breakfast bar to open it up...would hate being locked away in the kitchen...
OMG you are my new best friends. Love your videos as I too share you house envy. I am bingeing thru ISO for fabulous ideas. I soo love your pantry.... sorry SHOP!! :)
I also died when painted flooring and the brick. If want it look lighter get white or lighter wooden cabinets. The floors and brick gave kitchen a unique vibe. My parents home in Australia has original stain glass doors, big key locks which still work and fire places every room.
I love this space! I just found your channel and I am binging all your content. The light floors and painted brick really help transform the space with the black cabinets!
Why did you blocked the window in your pantry natural light and fresh air is always welcomed...the new kitchen design in black is so cool and fancy..a little thing again why this black separation between the cabinets and the fridge?for m e no use .once again it blocks the see view and the light.but it s your kitchen not mine!you did a great job!
Thanks for watching! The window in the pantry wasn’t necessary, don’t really want natural light where food is stored. Still plenty of airflow through the rooms and from external vents. The panel for the fridge is just so we didn’t have to see the side of the fridge and it gave us a spot for power points on the bench top without having cables coming along the brick wall.
Loved it! Amazing b&a! I really like these makeover episodes, though are you guys gonna show us more houses any time soon? Saludos from Buenos Aires, ARG
I loved this video, I think you have great style & ideas. I'm doing my first kitchen diy & it's challenging to say the least. I hope mine turns out as good as yours.
First, I love your renovation and I really like the finished product, looking forward to seeing more. And you mentioned that your old fridge had only storage for 10 eggs, that's probably because it was a European fridge. It is common in Europe to get 6 or 10 eggs, I live in Austria and never in my life have I seen a carton with 12 eggs :)
Can I suggest a narrow kitchen island in the middle that you could use as extra bench space and with maybe storage under it and use it to eat on with those bar stools or have a high table next to window where you can use your bar stools there for meals?
So you're probably never going to see this, but I love what you've done with the kitchen. To add warmth would you consider adding wood to the ceiling? Because your ceilings are an amazing height, the monochromatic look (which I love) is stealing a bit of warmth to the kitchen. Adding planks to the ceiling would fix this, while keeping everything super modern.
I loved the kitchen, especially the appliances, the cupboards and the marble tile wall! But I really think staining the floor would look completely amazing and not painting it! I also miss the window in the pantry and would take off the brick of the walls, but I understand it would be a lot lot of work, in general, lovely kitchen!
It looks fresh and modern, I like it, especially with the shiny, expensive silver coffeemaker. There does seem to be a lot a blank space though. Maybe you could give consideration for some cool art?
I love the before, just needs a little help. Now it looks like all the TH-camr's house. All black and white. Looks generic. I feel so sad for the bricks. But then, it's not my house so you do you.
Everything looks pretty great. I would definitely keep the red lights as a pop of color. And even the counter is beautiful I would put a wood countertop to kinda tie the cabinets with the floor. Too much "black and white game" for my taste but new kitchen is the bomb. White brick is amazing. At the end of the day main thing is you are happy✌
Amazing remodeling video !!! I’m literally binge watching all your remodeling videos but.... where are you jeans from ?! From the end of the video there soo pretty and I want some !:)
All the products are Linked in the article in the description. But the tap is a Billi hot, cold and sparking water tap. One of our fav parts of the room!
I think it looks nice because you guys bought nice appliances but I think you guys should have got an interior designers opinion. I think there is alot of missed opportunities here. Losing the brick, the window in the pantry. The height of the entire space was lost. A light fixture to compliment the space? Idk It does look nice tho.
I´ve watched this video several times (playing different parts of it) but I didn´t remember you mentioning how right your husband was about getting a double sink! It was hilarious because right now we are planning our future kitchen and the single/double sink issue has been one of discussion (he wants the double one, I wasn´t really sure until now!). Also I loooove tea and I boil water at least 5 times a day and I am thinking how useful something like that Billy tab could be for us! Unfortunately, it seems such a thing doesn´t exist in my country yet (Chile) so if you have any references for the same type of device from another brand, that would be great to know! Thank you for your videos and I can´t wait to see the re-dos of the rest of your home!
Love, love, love! But seriously guys - Vegemite in the fridge? ;-) Kidding! You've done a fabulous job. I've been contemplating using Kaboodle, will definitely look into it now! Love your style, keep up the great work :-)
I love the appliances (I have black stainless in my kitchen, as well) and I really love how the inside surround turned out with the range/oven. With the marble tile you chose, I understand why you painted the brick. I'm kind of torn about it, because the brick with black grout would've looked beautiful with your gorgeous appliances, as well. In the US, the black divider by the fridge is sometimes used on the outside of the fridge if it's the first appliance coming into the room (kind of like a bookend) or if it's being installed right next to another appliance, and it's normally only as deep as the side of the fridge to allow the doors full range of motion. I hope I explained that correctly - it is not typically extended out past the countertop. Is it really different in other countries or was there a preference for hiding the gorgeous black stainless? No shade ... I swear I've never seen it used to completely hide a fridge from view within the kitchen. I love what you all have done with the pantry/appliance garage. I, too, have aversion to appliances on countertops. 😂🤣😂 And I MUST find out if that dispenser is available around here ... that is too flipping awesome! You two are adorable❣
OMG. I have so many ideas for my house. But I’m not a DIY person. And trying to hire someone and trust them. It’s a headache. Love ur ideas and style. 👍🏾😍
This is a Billi sparkling, filtered and hot tap. We got it direct but there are a few places you can get it online. Check it out in the article linked in the description. We listed all the products we used.
So. I like it cause it's got black fronts which is same as I've been doing at mine @grumpypetesprojects on insta. Not a fan of the panel by the fridge or the set back cabinet above the fridge. I am setting my cabinet forward so it's easier to access. I'm tall so I like the pantry but wouldn't work for me. The painted brick works well and the overall contrast of black and the touches of timber are noice. Overall luv luv luv the long video content, so much more entertaining and no doubt a huge amount of effort in the Reno and video production. Looking forward to the next one.
Will have to check out yours when it’s finished. We will probably re fit the cupboard above the fridge so it’s flush with the fridge. Just didn’t have the fridge in when we fitted them all off. So that’s also part the reason for the full side panel on the fridge, so the top cabinet can come forward and not look strange. The side panel also stops us looking at the side of the fridge which is quite large and comes out fair bit further than the cabinets. Plus we have somewhere for power now too, no messy cables or conduit on the brick work.
@@Huntingforgeorge Ah-mazing transformation! I love the side panel next to the fridge adds extra angle and lines and makes it more interesting to the eye and sets it apart to just a flat pack kitchen. Gives it design flare!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏 So well done guys!
Not sure why there are so many negative comments! Lovely kitchen remodel, and you did it yourselves, WELL DONE 💯♥️
Thanks!
I KNOW. This is absolutely stunning...
Agreed. People are just horrible sometimes.
More makeovers please! Keep 'em coming.
It’s about the only thing we can do now... new project starting tomorrow!
I love kitchens with black cabinets! The grey countertops are so stunning and modern. I definitely think marble backsplash was the right choice. I would have left the window in pantry . Could have put a little shelf and grew your herbs there for cooking ❤️
Well some things shouldn't be in light eg. Onions and potatoes
Really love your kitchen transformation ! I actually like the white paint over the brickwork. I thought that the red would be a bit overpowering. I understand your need for the black divider between the fridge and shelves but I felt it took away from the overall appeal. And I love your coffee machine. And the sparkling water tap.

I love the kitchen renovation. I couldn't picture your vision but once it started coming together I fell in love.
Lucy, you're so cool, I love your vibe! Great job on the kitchen reno, J did some nice work in the pantry.
Yes! Thank you!
I'm in love, one of my fav kitchen renos and design style! Excuse me while and drool
Just realising induction stoves are not standard everywhere! In Scandinavia, you're fancy if you have a gas stove, haha.
I love your kitchen. The difference is amazing. I never thought of black cabinets and how modern and lovely it looks.
THIS IS GORGEOUS!!! The white and black makes the room look so much bigger and open. You guys killed it. Also that coffee maker 😍😍
Brilliant Reno!! Love the cabinets, painted brick, floor and lights...but love the chemistry of you two
Thanks! ⚡️
Love this kitchen, fantastic job....Brava!
love all your videos, but this one has to be the best one yet! it's a great testament that diy can still look very professionally done.

A lovely small timber table for prepping or sitting to have a cuppa would be lovely in the centre.
Thought about that. But after using the room for a year it’s nice to have the free space too. ⚡️
No disrespect to the character of your home but I’m SHOCKED you made that look good! I would have had no idea how to improve that lol! Love it

The bricks were lovely and now so mundane, what on earth is that sheet next to fridge lol
That's the first thing that popped to my mind. Why enclose the fridge like that. It cuts light and also stops you from opening the fridge's doors fully. The rest of the kitchen looks great though.
When she said that she loved the brick I was expecting her to keep it but I'm a wee bit disappointed 😅 it's still a massive improvement though.
Love me a black kitchen. Gorgeous job guys, so much better than before! Was so excited when I realised how long this video was! By far my fave renovators on TH-cam at the mo. Bring on the next one. P.S. Us Tassie girls LOVE our tea! X
Glad everyone is liking the longer videos. 🙌 Tassie is probably the best spot to be right now... enjoy your tea and time at home!

Wow wow wow. My fav part is your butlers pantry....but the floors or the marble. Love it all❤️

This is beautiful! I really look forward to these weekly videos 💖Would love an update on how the painted tiles in the bathroom have held up.
Maybe we can do an update in a few months. It’s been about two months of use now and they are just the same as the day they were painted.
LOVE IT. Still not so sure about the black countertops, not my thing, but they are absolutely beautiful non the less. That matte sink though 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Beautiful and functional! Thank u both

No, you don't know about interior design
So you're probably never going to see this, but I love what you've done with the kitchen. To add warmth would you consider adding wood to the ceiling? Because your ceilings are an amazing height, the monochromatic look (which I love) is stealing a bit of warmth to the kitchen. This room is the only room in the house without a perfect ceiling. So might be an option…
I really appreciate the Empire Records quote
WOWWW GREAT AMAZING MAKEOVER
the moment you open your pantry i see that asian ingredients and that rice cooker.... don't know why I feel so happy haha
😂😂😂 Jonno loves his rice cooker!
Electric cooking is the future. Plus, I like the sleek design. No nooks and crannies to clean.
You got that right! Super easy to keep clean. 🙌

The floor isn’t painted. It’s a white wash stain. Very subtle and is a 1000x cleaner than before.
