  • We are leaving Nairobi and flying to Masai Mara National Reserve. We were told the Best Kenya Safaris are in Maasai Mara, and we are going to stay at a Luxury Kenya Safari Lodge for the next few nights. This was definitely one of our best glamping experiences!
    After a short 1 hour flight with Safarilink we checked into the Neptune Mara Rianta Luxury Camp. Check out our full luxury tent tour and our first night in the Africa Bush

    Hippo heaven, so awesome they were basically right outside the door! Curious if they are noisy at night and if you could hear them while you're trying to sleep? Thanks for sharing, it's inspiring me to go there for sure!

      They were super noisy at night. We had to use earplugs. haha

    Always looking forward to your videos. Thank you! Will you have a separate vlog on what type of points you used to book your stay? I am assuming it's with a certain credit card.
    We usually stay at Hilton properties due to the aspire card we hold and the points we accumulate but of course that would be no use for a safari. Looking to expand our points credit card "portfolio" 🤣

      Please let us know how you booked with points! Great video.

      Absolutely!! We used Chase points to book our stay this trip, but we will be coming out with a full price breakdown video in 2 weeks

      Also, I'm curious to find out which Safari was your favorite and which Safari was Kevin's favorite out of all you've been on. Which one would you recommend (and why) for a first time Safari goer? Maybe you guys can do a video comparing all the different safaris? 😊 - just an idea

    Did you deliberately skip the migration to avoid the crowds? I am planning my first ever safari this season (july/august) but heard that the crowds can get really mad. Have you heard anything about this on the ground and what did you feel was the best time and duration of safari for budget travelers? Thank you soooo much for the advice!!

    Hi! Did you guys use the Neptune staff for game drives or a get your guide member ? I was wondering if game drives are included with nights stay price there ? Or extra ?

    • @TheAwkwardTourists
      @TheAwkwardTourists  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Game drives were extra, which we did not know when we booked it. So that was a bit of surprise, because we thought they were included with the "all inclusive price" We will be coming out with a full price breakdown in two weeks where we will get into how much everything cost.

      We felt fine. We took Uber everywhere and that was nice because you can track/share your ride. They have lots of security at the hotels too

    Re: $280 being "a little pricey", you have no idea what misery you avoided by flying vs. driving the badly rutted and washboard road from Narok to the Mara!

    • @TheAwkwardTourists
      @TheAwkwardTourists  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We heard it was bad, one of the reasons we decided to fly! We would have wanted a 4x4 and it was pretty much the same price as flying
