Tip 9.2: You can see what shops are selling and what recruits by pulling up the main map, hovering over the town/fort and selecting the option to show the info
There is actually a better way to do this. Pressing left or right on the map will reveal a list of all availables battles, rapports, towns etc. In the town menu you can just press triangle and reveal the shop of that specific town letting you press down and cycle through all shops like that.
You mentioning Fire Emblem with tip #1 got a laugh out of me because that was exactly the mistake I made. I benched Josef, thinking he'd be like Vander from Fire Emblem Engage or Jagen from Fire Emblem 1, a unit that's good at the start but falls off once every other character starts levelling up more. Josef has been excellent for carrying my weaker units. Good thing I didn't bench him for too long, because he was crucial to taking out Aubin early-game
Tip number 11: units prioritize the opponent directly in front of them unless they have a specific condition. Sometimes, swapping your front row formation to counter the enemy unit's classes Is the difference between receiving 25 dmg and No damage.
You can also just stock up on the consumable that gives you one stamina per use. That let's you to keep using your doom stack, but the downside is that it doesn't allow the rest of your units to actually level up. Also, you didn't mention the Golden Egg, which makes money way less tight. You get that right away by taking the boat at the first town and doing the chicken "quest". You get 100% more gold for the unit that currently has it. Just like with weapons, you can freely swap weapons and accessories between units before each engagement, so you should be doing this with rare items like the spear that grants True Strike, or the Rune Sword that gives you magic damage to your sword wielding melee units.. It's more micromanagement, but it is the optimal way to play.
I didn't get the Golden Egg on my first run but did on my second, and the difference is significant. My squads actually have level appropriate gear this time around!
I did mention the golden egg in the last part of the video. However, i did not show where to find it. The smoked nuts are really good, especially in the smaller harder battle scenarios up north! Having that extra bit of stamina makes them much easier. The weapon swaping is actually really tight, especially when you meet unexpected counter inbetween weaker units
@@MordarimNope. Maybe you meant "Golden Egg", but you said "Gold Coin", and I thought maybe that was some other item I didn't know about. I watched this a second time just to make sure I had not actually missed anything. I agree with you about the weapon swapping being tight, and you can't rely on it 100% of the time, especially if you encounter multiple units at the same time, but generally it's still good to swap items and weapons as typically you don't normally run into multiples. At least not in the demo anyway. Maybe the main game will be different in later maps. Also, it's more of an advantage than an outright necessity (though generally great against stationary, hard to kill units/bosses at garrisons), so for the weaker units that get ambushed, they'll just have to play normally.
I would never leave out my over leveled paladin early on, I'd just use them to strategically soften up opponents so the ones finishing them off get the bulk of the exp without much work
THANK YOU for making a video with useful tips that aren't explained in game. I literally had to come back to this video to write this comment, as every other tip video I've seen is like, "Tip #1: explore other continents". Yeah, really helpful. YOUR first tip is literally, "This isn't Fire Emblem, STOP IT." Keep up the great work, my dude.
I pair a shield shooter with the huge shield guy, of course with a nice offensive in the back and they are unbeatable besides hammers and magic of course. Meteor crossbow or other defensive bow works great.
The video quality will hopefully improve over the next videos. I did not find a good spot for the cam so i am going to omit it for gameplay and viewing purposes during most parts when covering the game. Thanks rob for suggesting this gem of a game. Its incredible and i can´t recommend it enough!
Toldja it was great. Haha. Anyway vid quality here is fine. Agreed on being judicious on resting. I hate resting. This is why i put aubin/housecarl on my main team. He allows me to keep pushing once low on stamina so i dont have to rest. This also made smoked nuts one of my most used items while i sold all the silver hourglass items i got. The demo is very addicting and eveb after 3 runs, i havent seen all the characters. Others told me of 4 characters i still missed. The demo itself feels like a full game's worth of play time. I am planning to get another run in just to see who else i cab get. Build, team and gambit crafting has been very engaging/dynamic. This game lives rent free in my head at the moment. So many stuff to theorycraft and the full game isnt even out yet!
I know of two being choice based. You can execute some leaders which would otherwise join you, like the archer boss. Oh, the consumables are a great way to get in some extra juice and they actually are pretty cheap for the amount of power they provide
@@Mordarim so far i've gotten 16, know of 4 that i havent gotten and have 4 join me at the end of beating galerius: 16 i've gotten: travis, josef, aubin, clive, alain, yahna, auch, bruno, rolf, mordon, berenice, sharon, lex, chloe, hodrick and selvie 4 i've been told about but havent gotten: monica, adel, ochlys, melisandre 4 that join me at the end of the demo: kitra, scarlett, fran, miriam Archer boss, mandarin? I spared him but he didnt join me. Is there another prerequisite?
I only read about it with people telling stories of him joining them, but i am not sure if its something that happens later. I know how to get monica, ochlys and melisandre, all of them are in the top side of the map which is just side content for now. Its also very very hard to get past some missions there. Adel is actually along your main story questpath. You can find him on the overlord when you go north instead of west after beating the sellswords.
I also noticed you are missing tatiana, an additional cleric which you can find up north. The villiage starting the battle triggers a small cutscenes with plaguemask clerics.
Ya know - I wasn't sure on this title The dumb name - copious amount of ridiculous anime tits and predictable characterizations and plot didn't really do it for me *And yet*... They put out a demo that allowed you to go fucking wild for eight hours :P when's the last time *that* happened? Talk about confidence in your product... even if the strategic gameplay didn't sell me - a developer being *that convinced* that they've got a winner would sell me xD
Plunder does not work with gold increases. Evade tanks are op Grab cleanses vs blinds in form of elves. Do your daily arena for easy extra CC. You can look at all marry scenes in the postgame. Only 1 start and 1 end of battle tactic can be active per squad. Passives have their own innitiative when triggering in your squad. You can hide units in the forest if enemies have not seen them yet.
only rest when you really really need to. I usually stock up on smoked nuts to get that 1 extra stamina when i need to move away or into bases. But resting should only be done when you can´t do anything useful with the unit or have another unit nearby to prevent your resting unit from being slaughtered.
@@Mordarim Ah okay, thank you. In the demo, I had difficulty managing my stamina. Does this mean I'm not clearing maps quickly enough? I always have to rest a unit at least once per map.
I think you need more optimized squads to play around with. I usually never go beyond the 70% time left mark in any scenario on expert. Next few videos will go over multiple early to midgame squads in batches of 3, so you should look out for those. game will get a lot more technical the further you progress.
I don’t mind someone posting a video about things you wish you knew first but I think you should wait until the game actually comes out and not do a video about the demo. I thought you were talking about the game after its release but this video is all about the demo, I think that’s misleading
The demo IS the actual game, offering 23%of the games map to explore. The save carries over 1to1, so there is no point in waiting because those tips will affect beginning players all the same.
