So a quick theory: what if Malak is actually not evil, but is actually being held captive by Bierce? It would explain what he said at the end of the chapter and why he is seemingly trapped in a door. Bierce is the real devil, and each of the levels is one of the circles of hell like in Dante’s Inferno. Once she has all the shards, maybe she can kill malak and finally take back control. You would also forever be trapped in hell, as the devils servant. Just some food for thought!!!
What if he doesnt want to die and stopping the player is the only way he can prevent it. I'm just following with the theory, but it would be pretty sweet and messed up if Bierce IS the bad guy. Not only that but the little "demons" are Malak's minions helping him to stop the player from winning the game so he wont die? Idk just adding a bit to the theory as well
