Made it today on christmas!!! Turned out perfect... Took 60 mins to bake on low to medium n low heat.... n it turned out perfect!!!! Definitely butter paper is a good idea... otherwise the caramel makes the base sticky after its cooked... Best is if u let the cake cool down n cut it half hr to 1 hr after its baked... Thank u for the recipe!!

Because of caramel. And sugar + jaggery caramel gives bakery’s their colour its called “black jack” in baking industry and its an alternative of molasses which is added in the original plum cake recipe.

The cake turned out really well taste and smell was amazing 😋only backdrop was that the nuts and raisins were all lying in the bottom.i baked it for 40 mins at 180
You can rinse out the dry fruits and then coat them with flour.. afterwards you can add them to the cake and they'll remain intact in their place and won't settle down..

Today I made this cake... Oh god it was super delicious, most of the time I make cake with icing and my mom and dad doesn't like cream cake.. Today the were super happy after eating this cake
Mam i loved ur recipe. It's very good. I have a suggestion. Before decorating the cake with dry fruits, just sprinkle one tsp of dry maida on them and coat it. Then bake it. The dry fruits will not sink in the cake.
