Hello my little winglets!
Welcome to another SOPLANE Trip Report! Today, we are taking United back to Dublin from Chicago O'Hare. I was lucky to score a whole row to myself which made for a very comfortable hop across the big pond! Crew were lovely and the food great as well! Really loved the separate dessert service! The United service has improved quite a bit since my last flight with them.

I flew a Delta 757 from JFK to TLV in 2016 - upgraded to Economy Plus (or whatever it was called) for around $80 each way - first row behind business class - about 4 feet of legroom, good food and free booze! A year from today I'm going to Ireland. Can't look for flights for another month or two. I was SUPPOSED to be in Spain today for the first of 14 days, but COVID-19 took care of that!!
Sorry to hear that you had to cancel your Spain holiday! That's a total bummer. I am sure Ireland next year will be great. $80 for extra legroom was not bad at all! Money well spent 🥰 Thanks for watching!
@@SOPLANETUBE I didn't cancel it. Trafalger cancelled the tour and Air France cancelled the flight...I have e-credit on Delta and American (domestic one-ways) but am still waiting for my card to be refunded for the overseas portion. Thinking of buying a new used camera to make up for it :)
Fond memories of the United 757 from my first solo trip many moons ago. Quality work and as always great soundtrack.
Awwww where did you go on your first solo trip? I think my first 757 flight was on BA in my early teens.
Miss Dublin! I flew on a 757 as well (Delta) in economy from DUB to JFK back in 2012; the only thing that made it look like an international flight was the meal service.

Hi Red! I just passed through the airport. DUB is handy for Glasgow. Flights from DUB to the US are generally cheaper than from GLA. But you are right, the seat is the same as on US domestic flights and the real difference is just the food - and maybe the movie selection. Thanks for watching!!!!

Fantastic Video! The 757 is my favourite type of aircraft and I haven’t been able to fly one since 2012 so seeing this was fantastic and the UNITED product looks okay. I’m flying to Chicago on Boxing Day on my first long haul trip for a while on the 747-400, returning on the 777-200ER. Did this flight use T5 at O’Hare?
Hehe cheers buddy! Since 2012? That's a long time! Better hurry up before all these old ladies disappear LOL. United was pretty good through and through - IFE was dated but didnt' really matter. The food was really good - much better than what it used to be. Are you flying BA to Chicago? Not many 744s left haha. The flight actually left from T1!

I've not flown American nor Delta so can't really say, I'm afraid.
It will be a sad day when they finally retire the 757 and 767. Two fantastic Aircraft. Boeing needs to make a successor to both.
Totally! I got to fly an ANA domestic 767 last month which was nice. Had the choice between that and the Shinkansen und the flight was like half the price! Haha
They should keep them make new ones make them 757 -400x all have ifes and better interior bigger neo engines they fly great there like and feel like a 777 but single isle the 737s feel cramped and they crash
Not keen on the 737 ng or the Max. I think Airbus makes the better Aircraft with the A320/21 CEO and neo. But the Airbus A321 can never take the crown of the 757 which is a great short to medium haul aircraft.
@@marcgardner868 yeah if they can modernize the interior get neo engine's and put the tv's in the seat backs and keep the 757s like they were but build new they would sale no one wants to fly in the 737 max I flew in a 737 700 southwest and it was cramped it felt small compared to the 757 200 I flew in they felt bigger more leg room and flew like a heavier plane especially Delta's 757s they use the pw 2 000 engine
Ryan's vlogging it Not flown since 2017 and the flight to Rhodes used to be A330 and 757 back and it was 4 hours of comfort. The 737 800 even though it’s brand new for Jet 2, lovely sky interior but it just felt cramped and every bit of clear Air Turbulence was horrible. Hardly notice it on the A330 or 757.
Luckily it’s 757 both there and back this year 😀

It was a 7 hour flight. I found it comfortable enough but then again I had the whole row to myself.

Hehehehe...yes! I hat the miniature cans...having said that though, I can't remember the last time I had a miniature can. I always see the big bottles now....think KLM was the last airline I got the miniatures on and that was years ago.
