As a longtime subscriber, I want to thank you again for this excellent channel. Avoiding what most avgeeks consider annoying, the overlay of music which other TH-camrs play throughout their trip report videos, and allowing all the natural sounds of the trip is greatly appreciated!

Great video man! I had the chance of flying on an UA 752 to Denver back in September with the new cabin just like in this video!! It was supposed to be a 763 but got a last minute aircraft change. Sometimes we might not like last minute aircraft changes since we may already have something planned but that change was totally worth it! Grew up flying on the 757 with American and the trip I got with UA’s 752 gave me a lil of nostalgia!
Excellent video, thank you. I've been a loyal UA flyer for over 40 years, but not so often now, so I learned a lot! Great seat choice over the front of the wing so we got to see the leading edge of the wing retract after take-off, and also the thrust reverser come out on landing. Well done. I LOVE having the IFE headset jack under the screen instead of in the armrest where I can't see it. United trying to get all their money's worth out of these 757s is the right call.

Merry Christmas Weekend to you🎄🎅🎄 Yes, you had a nice seat there by door 2L. Plus you had an seat not used in between you and the other passenger. The 757s are really nice to fly and I have worked them a lot. I worked on the 757s before the big renovation. These aircraft are the work horses of the industry. Thanks again for sharing.
Miami-based AvGeek here! I had a chance to fly from Newark to miami on the 752 but it still had the directTv seat back streaming and sadly mine didn’t even work. It was black the whole time. But despite that I still love flying in the good ole 757s and I’m glad they are updating the seats. But I know they will be retired as soon as the XLRs and Max 10s start getting delivered so must enjoy it while we can

I use to travel for work and traveled regularly on AA, DL, NW, TW, UA, AS and the 757 was one of my very favorites. It's like a flying sports car.

Very well done. United now fly a summer schedule to my hometown Bergen, Norway from Newark operated with the 757.
AA can brag about streaming to your personal device all they want but when the WI-FI doesn't work which it hasn't on the 4 American flights I have taken in the last 15 months, does not do a whole lot of good.
I am a frequent Delta flyer, hundreds of flights a year. I actually agree with AA's stance on a good streaming system. The IFE ages out too fast compare to our phones, tablets and computers. No matter the airline, there are always malfunctioning IFEs. What's even worse is that the IFE box eats up so much space under the seat. The excessive weight, reduced foot space, and minimal content are just some of the good reasons not to have them. In my experience, streaming service worked pretty well and I get a better screen on my own device.

I truly miss the 757…. Again I’ll say (as I did on your 737-max video back in August) I’m happy for UA and Kirby for going this route. Again, AA needs to follow suit; they’re going backwards.

No matter the newer planes, the 757 has been and will always be my fav aircraft to travel in. The RB211 sounds like a high end sports car every time I hear it. Yes, the 757 is ageing, but they built it spot on, excellent looks from the outside and with some decent interior upgrades, it still remains as the top jet to enjoy traveling with.
Amanda and i are booked on the inaugural flight to Tenerife on Jun 9. Hope we will have one of the refurbished 752's.
I admire the airlines that uses those old aircrafts, it’s a charm, it’s a super cool experience for who loves airplanes. This is aviation!!

With those RB211 engines, a rejected take-off is very rare indeed!
That model of IFE screen seems to be really popular, I think I’ve seen one on KLM new economy
Are the seat cushions in row 21 thinner than other economy rows?
So this configuration has actually been around for a bit now. This is the plane that UA has been using for transcontinental and international from the east coast. The new interiors will have updated lighting and larger overhead bins.
I’m also a fan of the Turkish Lounge at MIA, great food and drinks with a beautiful patio view. Great video! 👏🏼✈️
I’m surprised they didn’t update the overhead bins and cabin panels like Delta did with their new 757 interiors. Delta 757 looks like the sky interior on the 737.
Yup, Delta's later deliveries of 757 have an earlier model of Sky Interior and the renovation brought them to the latest Sky Interior that matches 737 and 787. I tried to tell that to some United fans but they refused to believe it... and I have flown those DL 757 enough times to know better.
@@_w_w_ the average non aviation person would probably think that a Delta, 28 year old 757 is a brand new aircraft! Delta has done a great job keeping their interiors modern.

If I remember correctly United configured those interior before the announcement once 737 max 8 came in so they are very likely only got them because it’s the one that flies transcontinental mostly and made sense to upgrade new ptv so I think that’s why bins are not upgraded and very likely realized it’ll be end of service life and retired once they got it all retrofitted so doesn’t make sense to retrofit those retiring 757

That's why I enjoy flying Air Canada. They've always had in seat IFEs. In fact Air Canada has IFEs of some of their regional jets.

In theory they should as part of the NEXT program... as to when thats going to happen I have no clue.

Have all the United 757 been updated to rear seat TV. We are traveling from Edinburgh to Newark in 2 weeks time
All the United 757-200 have seatback TVs, however, some of them have an older version of the TVs.
You are correct about Untied Next. This interior is an old upgrade. You’ll know you’re in the new signature cabin when economy plus is purple (:

Cool video, love United! They’ve definitely been improving in recent years! Can you just tell me if they are the same manufacturer of the Seats used on Frontier and Spirit Airlines? I hate those ACRO seats used by the ULCC’s with a passion!!
The seats are the same model as used on Jetblue and Air Canada
I flew on a refurbished United 757 a week ago and the seats were much more comfortable than Frontier and Spirit

It is not!! It’s the same seat as American oasis, southwest 738, JetBlue a320 v2, etc. they are really nice!!
thanks all! I appreciate the response. The seats don't remind me of the ones on southwest and American for some reason. United felt more comfortable. I used to be impressed with American and their neat free seatback entertainment screens! Glad United is bringing it back, and ashame American just removed their seatback screens. Southwest is good but their older planes show their age easily.
No ding sound when the seatbelt sign got switched off.
This isn’t actually one of the more recently updated aircraft. This is a 75S… updated from the older 757-200’s but it’s a few years old still. The seats and IFE are similar to the new 737 MAX 8, but not what is considered the new “signature interior”.

Weirdly enough I know exactly what you mean by this, and yes, at least on this occasion they felt sturdy for my iPhone cable

Imagine United fitting the 757s with sky interior like delta
They don't make 757s anymore so these aircraft are older than the 747s. When I last flew on them the IFE consisted of central CRT and stethoscope headsets!! (Really, the speakers were built into the armrest and it was a flexible plastic tube, not electric cable)😊
How come the male flight attendant was wearing a pilots uniform?
Last time I flew United 752s they had air phones in the seat back, it’s been so long

Thank God they finally caught up close to Delta in terms of the cabin but still sucks that they didn't install Sky Interior fixtures.
Since this retrofit technically happened before the introduction of the new signature interior, I don't think they had plans on retrofitting the full cabin, however, as far as I am aware, with the retrofits announced this year, those do include the introduction of mood lighting and a cabin facelift, although personally I doubt we'll see these come to the 752s as they plan to be retired within a few years
@@ITripReport Sky Interior has been available for later 75 productions... So it's available for this retrofit. UA just didn't choose it.
The 757 always be the Lover of the sky.... the A321 LR and XLR the new Lover but less good... and then the 737 for some new

As much as I love United and the 757, for a transatlantic flight the American 787 might be a better choice if you want comfort, now if you wan't a real avgeek treat, then go with the 757.

How do you know when a aircraft has been retrofitted?
If you are scheduled to fly on one United will tell you the amenities for your flight and you will see IFE instead of DirectTV
For now, all I can say is to go for a flight that has been labeled as a MAX flight

I didn’t realize United has IFE screens on domestic flights! I thought that Delta was the only US legacy that had them.
AA did back in like 2017. Even their 737-800 had them.

As United continues retrofitting those 757, I'm hoping that the old 757 seats can get converted into office chairs for sale. Given that so many 757s have yet to be retrofitted, there's hope

That is all they are going to do to the interior of this 27 year old plane. It will be retired soon and replaced by the new orders. ie A321XLR
So the 757 is aging and United plans to retire them. However, the new seats are too new to be in the dumpster. However, these seats don't have United's latest version of the IFE. Interesting to see what United will do with these seats when they retire these 757s
