    I actually like the LE for the simple reason that it has a physical key! Question: does the 2022 LE not have the blind spot monitor, unless you get the package? Not that I have driven a car with one (still driving an old suv that belongs to family), but I can see the safety use of having extra help with blind spots and lane shifts.
    By the way: I appreciate that you always knock the dust off your shoes before getting in a car. I don’t remember seeing any other auto reviewer do that.

    • @brianruperti
      @brianruperti  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Wait till the 2023 models hit the market. All the 2023 Rav4 models will come with the blind spot monitor and toyota safety sense 2.5 which is more advance than the previous edition. I will recommended LE hybrid since high gas prices will be around till 2024. Also, in toyota Hybrids, breaks will last twice as long and less maintenance compared to the ICE. In the end, both vehicles ICE and Hybrid model have the same maintenance costs if you will hold the vehicle for 10 years or more.

      ***PRO TIP: I find that the car heats faster when the fan is on a lower/med speed and the temp is set to medium. Blasting the fan and putting temp on high seems to make it take longer.

    Hey Brian, would you choose the gas or hybrid version of the limited trim. Here in Canada the gas model is 3-5 months wait verses 24m for the Hybrid version. Also worried about the high voltage cable corrosion here with our brutal long winters and lots of salt on the roads. Is the hybrid more quick off the line and engine more quiet? We drive about 10k miles a year, mostly city. TIA

    • @brianruperti
      @brianruperti  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In your position I would go gas model 100%
      The hybrid is a dot faster off the line but it’s not night and day. The PRIME is night and day faster. For a huge price increase. You drive mostly city so you’ll feel the gas mileage but if you can swing a few bucks in gas extra, gas model is great.
      If you want hybrid, Toyota did find a solution to the cable issue. The rubber wire cover was cupped upward, which trapped water/salt. They now modify the cover to allow the water to pass.
      But like I said, if you’re not afraid of a little more fuel usage, gas models are STRONG. Especially in the cold.

    how much we can bargain on new rav4 le

    • @brianruperti
      @brianruperti  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on where you buy, you may be able to a decent bit. I’d guess most stores would bargain around 500 pretty easily but 1,000-1,500 would be a desperate store. Don’t be shocked to meet stores that won’t budge. It still varies widely. But it doesn’t hurt to ask!

    • @brianruperti
      @brianruperti  ปีที่แล้ว

      For example: a store that has 7 LEs on the lot will bargain quicker and more than a store that has 20 LEs coming in but they’re all pre-sold. Get what I mean?

    • @brianruperti
      @brianruperti  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you. Depends on where I live. If I live in the heat with really nice roads, Camry SE or XSE for me. If my home has pot holes and bumps and curbs and bad weather, I choose RAV4 to be higher up and take less damage. They’re both awesome.
      The Camry is for the driver type. The RAV4 is for the utility. Both great. Hope that helps

    Just picked up my 2024 .
    I went with the XLE for the alloy wheels 🛞.
    Otherwise it’s the same.
    I did consider getting the LE and buying aftermarket alloy wheels , but that would have cost even more.
    Opted for the front wheel drive as the AWD just adds weight and complexity, plus front wheel is all most people will need.
    I also have a full sized steel wheel in the event of a flat.
    Things I i absolutely love ,
    - reliability
    - regular gas
    - NO CVT , though I wish it was a six speed instead of an 8 speed automatic again complexity..
    - I can do most of the maintenance myself (at least when its out of warranty 3 years)
    Only drawback is that it can be a bit jerky , and that’s because of the 8 speed automatic searching for gears.
    It’s really not that bad though.
    I do dislike that it is a sealed automatic transmission which makes it more costly to flush the transmission fluid.
    One final thought.
    While Toyota makes the most reliable CVT’s , they’re still no where near as reliable as a traditional transmission.
    If the Toyota Cross came with a traditional transmission as opposed to a CVT, I would have purchased that instead.
    It’s just a bit smaller and much easier to maneuver around town and it doesn’t sit quite as high as the RAV4 and not as low as the Corolla.
    At my age , ingress and egress are very important.
    Okay , sorry for being so long winded.
    See ya !

      Ah I understand. If it helps reassure you, push button start has been around for a couple decades now. It’s very easy to use. There is one slight security thing about it, buts it’s mainly a non-issue if you don’t leave your key fob lying around. Push button start is very reliable.
      I would get whichever adventure you can get your hands on. I hope that helps! (You’ll be fine w the push button start)

    • @moeswayseldom12
      @moeswayseldom12 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t like push button starts for one reason. If the battery dies in the fob and mine did with no warning, I couldn’t start my car. If you hold the fob against push start you have enough juice to start one time , but don’t shut your car off unless you want to be stranded until you get your second fob from your house or drive to store to get new battery. You better pray the store has one in stock because they’ll be no starting your car again. I wish upper trim levels had key starts instead.

    • @brianruperti
      @brianruperti  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s not necessarily true on the new Toyotas. I did a test and removed the battery completely and started a new highlander multiple times. If your car is a few years old that may effect this but on new Toyotas they will start with a cold dead fob battery and even without on in the fob. They’ll also warn you of a low fob battery now. Hope that helps!
