Good review, haven't heard this before and I'll be checking out more.

They are very heavy in their earlier stuff. Very heavy. But they are amazing musicians and have been evolving. One of my favorite bands.

6:49 Rivers of Nihil (pronounced like the river Nile) actually hail from America. Reading, Pennsylvania to be exact. if you go with another song by them i'd recommend Subtle Change

Nice reaction! I like this band quite a bit, I'd say my favourites are Where owl knows my name and Subtle change.
Also could it perhaps be the time to check out Ne Obliviscaris? Their music has a lot of progression and implements an unusual instrument (violin), somewhat similar to early Opeth but also gives off a completely unique vibe

My first time hearing them and I really liked it! Liked the changes and that sax. Very refreshing hearing this coming from USA.

also these guys are from like Pennsylvania 💀 the word Nihil is a greek root word that means “nothing” i.e. nihilism. it makes a fun play on words because the band’s name sounds like “Rivers of Nile” lol

I was thinking nearly the same as you, as i heard this the first time (in a reaction video). The Sax hooked me, i wanted to listen to this again so it got Spotified in a "to-do-list"
    2. run i was blown away finally, heard it on repeat a lot of times and fast landed in my favorit playlist for sure :)
thank you for reacting, i am looking forward for another video from this great band, i am new to them so some people who know their stuff should recommend

Love this song. For me its the best song on the album 🤘 Not too exprimental like some of their other songs. But love the harsh vocals, cleans, the bass, the guitar solo is clean as fuck and ofcourse the saxophone brings that little ekstra 👌
And they are from Reading, Pennsylvania. Progressiv metal band 😁

I like these guys! And they're from the States (Pennsylvania) Not that there's anything wrong with anywhere else but Americans been sleeping on it. I don't know, I guess melodic death metal yeah. I like that the vocals are very harsh, but the instruments are very subtle and delicate. There's a definite groove to that drum line too, jazz like. In fact I think there's touches of symphonic and power metal in there. And yeah I forgot the sax! Really good band, great reaction!

I agree though the soft vocals needed work. I don't think the video was great, but it wasn't so distracting it ruined the song. Shrugs Check out Where Owls Know My Name. But take the video with a grain of salt, lol
