good mascara for glasses, you can get it at sephora, is either of the blinc mascaras. it tubes your lashes and as long as its dried before you put your glasses on, you are not gona get streaks.
i love my clear frame glasses because i can almost do makeup like im not wearing them. it's not that the glasses don't block or distort certain parts of the makeup, but they draw less focus. i like it especially because i like to cosplayat cons and ill often not wear my glasses but sometimes i really need them and the clear frames get less in the way of the hard work i put into my costume and makeup
I must have short eyelashes because I've had glasses since age 5 and have been wearing makeup since I was 15 and am now 43 and never have gotten mascara on my lenses.
Cool beans, this look is similar to what I already do because I'm too near sighted to even think about putting mascara on my bottom lashes. I never did false lashes because I was too nearsighted to feel like I would put them on right.
As someone who wears glasses 24/7 because I'm allergic to contacts, do whatever eye makeup makes you happy. If it makes you happy, it's not a waste. In fact, a pretty eyeshadow can draw the focus towards your eyes. Do what makes you happy.
I'm an optician. So here's some friendly tips! One: if you are at great optometry office, they can adjust your glasses for you and your long lashes! So no fear ladies! There's a way besides curling your lashes. Also, stay away from plastic lenses!! Depending one eyeglass prescriptions, it can cause the fish eyes especially if you have a high prescription! So stay with polycarbonate! It's a great material of lens and no fish eyes!lol and this last tip is especially for cherry doll face, if you hate that annoying glare! Get some non-glare coating on your lenses! It really does take that glare away and everyone can see your eyes, not that glare! (Especially if you are taking pics or recording clips) just some friendly tips on eyeglasses! And feel free to ask anymore questions! But also love you doll!!
Thank you for this video! I'm normally a make-up free person except on special occasions. I have no choice but to wear glasses so this video has been very helpful.
If you're wearing glasses be sure to use a really orangey yellow toned concealer, because you want to get rid of your dark circles as much as possible, as your glasses cast a shadow on that area and will really accentuate any dark circles or eye bags.
I have black frames and hooded eye lids lol worse combo ever for eye shadow looks. I never use dark shadows or liners , and extend the light shadow to cover my entire mobile lid because so little of it shows. I love the way you did this tutorial , and would love to see some other looks with glasses. ❤️
Great video, Cherry! As a long time glasses wearer, I don't really make any special concessions for the fact that I wear glasses in terms of makeup, except for the length limit of false lashes I can use (I have really short lashes). Using light colors on the lids really help brighten the area, and liner is a must to help define them. I love all your glasses, so cute!
i have been feeling the same way since the xmas holidays so i sympathise! i have a creative business but am not quite sure where to go with it this year. i have read some really good tips about visualising where, when, what you would do if money were no object. you can then work backwards to find the new direction your looking for. might be worth a try? xxx
Yaaaay!! I loved it!!! Whenever I wear my glasses, I focus most on highlighting my face and a bold lip. I don't focus so much on my eyes either! Great video!
Little tip to prevent mascara streak: even though I wait for my mascara to dry before putting my glecs back on, I usually end up with at least a couple of little streaks. So before I put them on, I fold a little pad of tissue, hold it under my lower lashes, and blink a couple of times. Any stray streaks end up on the tissue, not my lenses!
I am with the local Lion's Club and have been for over 40 years. I am the guy that goes around and picks up the donated glasses from many of the local optical shops. I did go through the donated glasses mostly because often times kids would be playing and would throw glasses off the rack in the donation box. After a while i started to hang onto many of the frames like your wearing now. So many cat eyes with rhinestones. Funny thing after i had them put away I had several young female friends ask me if I ever came across any of the cat eye style glasses. When i dug out the ones that I had saved only because I just liked how they looked these girls went crazy. After some begging I let them pick out a pair for themself as long as they agreed to have lenses made and actually wear them otherwise they had to return them to me. A couple girls came back upset because they were told that the plastic frame they picked out was so old that the plastic was likely too brittle to switch out the lenses. Most of them just returned that frame and picked out one that had the metal piece across the bottom. One girl liked the glasses she had picked out and was planning on just getting plano (non-prescription) lenses since she didn't really need glasses she decided to wear the glasses with the prescription that was in them. She worked at the local mall and I saw her quite often and she was always wearing those glasses and she said iad she could see perfect with them. Anyway like someone else suggested next time you get any new vintage glasses you may want to get the AR coating (anti-reflective) added on to your lenses.
I'm almost blind so my glasses make my eyes look super small so I put on my eyeliner thick and I over do the flick of the cat eye, then, I put on a neutral brown eyeshadow on the outer corner of the lower lash line and on my crease to give my eyes some dimension, and yes, eyebrows that go with the frame of the glasses, so I keep them defined and color them with my Anastasia brow pomade ♡
Shimmery powder under the eye (even right up close to the eye) might not work if you naturally have natural lines and creases under your eyes. Same with concealer. Be careful what you use under your eyes. Anything too heavy will sit in the natural creases, and anything too shimmery/bright will accentuate the creases.
I have been watching your videos for a while. You have a good presence and have a relatable feel to you. Your style is amazing and you are gorgeous. You explain things really easily and I have found your videos helpful in the pin up style. I watched finding your path video and it was honest. Thank you for saying what you said. It's easy for viewers to think you do have it all together and everything is perfect. It's nice to know we are all in this together. I think your vintage store sounds lovely. I think involving the store somehow would be good, but have you considered having buyers post photos in the things they buy from you and featuring it in your videos? You could also interview others at fairs and festivals you go to and talk about their style and what inspires them. I think that would be interesting. You seem successful and I had no idea you went on tours and I think you have something there with doing pin up makeovers. I would love to see more of that, but would be fun to see you do pin up or pompadour styles on men's hair and clothing. Have you considered doing things for men too? May be a really interesting section to add to your collection of wonderful videos. Keep doing what you're doing. You're fun and it's nice to peek into your vintage life. Best of luck in whatever you choose. Hugs.
I know it's not the same, but I've done research on my own with no success so I'm hoping you can give me some advice. I've noticed that every time I go out in full face makeup and wear my sunglasses, my makeup always comes off the bridge of my nose. The most common advice I've heard is to set the foundation with powder, but my makeup still ends up on the nose pads of my sunglasses. What do you do to stop this from happening? Thank you!
My problem with mascara, is I have naturally light blonde, and never manage to cover the roots with mascara, so I end up having nice eyeline a line of blonde and then black eyelashes, and it doesn't work. I'm also allergic to eyelash tint so do you have any tips on that?
I feel very jealous of the "lash streak" problem- no way my stubby eyelashes are coming anywhere near to hitting my glasses 😞 Also, I find shelling out a bit extra for the anti reflective lenses is really worth it! And I always prefer matte shadows when wearing glasses.
what is the name of that thing for the glasses I suffer from astigmatism so I am very blind and always struggle to see when I take my glasses off to do my makeup.
My gawd, such a gorgeous woman. I see a hint of resemblance to Tina Fey who is also not only physically beautiful but has a real attractiveness in mannerisms.
Loved this. Recently perscribed glasses aagain and keep going out without them because I feel they hide my eye makeup. How have you done the wave in your hair?
Hey girlies, does anyone know any good websites that sell vintage frames? Having my eyes tested in a couple of months and would love Love LOVE a couple of vintage frames, any help would be appreciated :D
I've been a life long glasses wearer! One thing that I found really helps is an anti reflective coating the lenses. It makes it a lot easier for others to see you eyes, and a lot easier to drive at night/work on the computer/do anything with bright light.
I really hate that comment about it being a waste of makeup to use a lot of shadow on your eyes. I have to always wear glasses, my eyes are to sensitive to wear contacts. Girls with glasses should wear whatever makes them happy. I have been hearing this story my whole life, its not fair to limit someone because they wear glasses. Some of the tips are good, its just really frustrating seeing so many makeup artists reinforcing this bullshit idea that if you wear glasses you shouldn't do a lot of eye makeup. I also have very sensitive skin prone to acne (everything makes my pores clog) so the only make up I wear is on my eyes.
I know this was a year ago, but might I recommend getting the Softmed contact lenses? I have tried multiple different ones due to sensitive eyes as well and these are the only ones that are comfortable. They make them in the breathable styles like any other brand but, for someone with horrible eyes and astigmatism, they do make breathable for these as well. They are a little bit cheaper too and come in the weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly sets. I have been using this brand for 10 years now. Hope this is helpful.
This video was soon helpful! I found it the other day. I'm now following all of these tips for my makeup! Thank you Cherry Doll face! Happy Holidays!

I don’t really like waterproof mascara either, however, I put waterproof over my reg mascara and it keeps me from getting smudges. 😊 love your videos!
Thank you for making dis video for us 👓 gals 🤓

I have the third pair! :)
Love you friend ❤️
Thank you so much for this one! No one ever really thinks about eye make up tutorials if you wear glasses.
Thank you! ❤️

I love eye makeup so I go bold and love to match my outfits and I've worn glasses all my life

+Jim Boice Next time send them to Allyn Scura! They fill all kinds of old materials. And they just filled my latest with AR lenses!
Great look! Thank you for sharing your tips.
Loved these tips I just wish I had seen this video so much sooner.
you look gorgeous! this look reminded me of miss money penny in the old bond movies, I'm not sure why!
I love my vintage eyewear , they make me feel beauiful ...
I never ever use blush because I'm a redhead in a hot climate so I'm pretty much always somewhat pink :/ do you think that I should try it or nah?
You don't need it unless you wear a full coverage foundation that covers your redness.
YES! I loved this video! so many helpful tips!!

thank you so much! as a vintage glasses wearer (and collector), i would love to try this makeup tutorial out. ;)
For those asking where to get vintage frames, I own 5 pairs and a majority have come from antique stores and cost me less than $30.
i love how your makeup works with glasses on. at least now i don't feel bad.
Love the look. It's hard for me to find vintage glasses is there any brands you'd recommend?
+Diedra Huizar I generally only wear true vintage for that style... not sure about reproductions!
+Cherry Dollface thanks :)
+Diedra Huizar I recommend Valerie by Pepe Jeans, I love my pair :)
I have several pairs that are vintage-esque from zenni optical!
+Marcelina P thanks so much :)
Thanks for your tips, now I can be pretty for my girlfriend even with my glasses 😉

Where did you get that cute eyelash curler!!!?
Yayy I've missed these old school longer, you-mean-business videos!! How do you feel about making an updated drugstore, natural makeup look video?? 😯😘
Yay I have glasses that are same style as the third ones! I've been wondering if those tips apply to glasses with no down frame
where did you get the forth pair of glasses at the end? I love them!
+Monika K They're vintage! I bought them at Viva Las Vegas from a vintage vendor. :)
I love that you posted this. I was just talking about how noooo one does eye glass tutorials :p yayyy cherry

Use eyeshadow primer there and then set with powder. Should help!

Smashbox makes a little fan brush that can get mascara right to the root. I use it on my blonde clients!
I feel very jealous of the "lash streak" problem- no way my stubby eyelashes are coming anywhere near to hitting my glasses 😞
Also, I find shelling out a bit extra for the anti reflective lenses is really worth it! And I always prefer matte shadows when wearing glasses.
love the makeup!!!! and love you Doll face
Thank you for this video, need some tips. Plus where did you get the silver/cream glasses, I love them?!

"You want to go with a bright lip because there's nothing covering those" -cries in 2020&2021-
Are there any vintage hairstyles that you feel go better with glasses.
Vintage friendly glasses shapes?
Loved this. Recently perscribed glasses aagain and keep going out without them because I feel they hide my eye makeup. How have you done the wave in your hair?
Love this! I hate wearing glasses though. But I need them -_-
How do you get them prescribed? The vintage ones!!
Zenni and other websites
Awesome tips

pinkkitten00 sucks to be you
I actually find that wearing glasses, eye shadow/eye make up sticks out more oh and I love lengthening mascara for my eyes with glasses
