Portrait gallery is beautiful, both the art & the building. It was the original US Patent Office in the 1800s. The National Gallery of Art is even more spectacular. It's also bigger -- between 3rd and 9th Streets, at Constitution Avenue NW. It's two buildings and it takes about a week to see everything there!
