- Human-like robots are showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada. "We've designed Ameca to be as human-like as possible in movement," Morgan Roe, from Britain-based Engineered Arts, says while standing next to the robot, whose grey face moves and blinks as he speaks.

Motors is just a metalic physical component choice, which has many limits in dextarity and energy useage,, but advantages in strenght and precision, wait until they function in *strong* synthetic, muscle electrolysis power anatomy structure.
@@bm_wuratli6883 i assume they would have something in place for people like you, because obviously these will mostly likely take longer to be deployed in rural areas and the cities already have cameras everywhere you won't get far before the cops come knocking.

When I first saw the AMECA videos, I thought it was just another CGI presentation of what the future might hold. Therefore, this is some feat of engineering.

I see this being a step to the future but I also see this becoming a potential threat once they become self aware
they rather get hacked and used to attack something or someone way before they become self aware

I don’t think them being self aware is the threat. I personally am afraid that they can be controlled by the wrong people - people who have malicious intent, people that are hungry for profit, hungry for power. Those who are willing to use these machines to spy on us in the name of security. That kind of bullshit they are already doing to us but on a bigger scale…
I feel like robots will never be self aware i mean there only so much you can implement in this thing. I believe that artificial self awareness would be a fluke by hackers to make it seem that its aware. We have things like worms, viruses etc on computers that are designed to there thing or what their designed to do.
@@NienNienNien it’s only the beginning of 2022, and yet we can see a robot with such good facial expressions. I personally never thought robotics could move that much further that soon ! So who knows , maybe true artificial consciousness isn’t so inaccessible

The uncanny valley is there but it seems less creepy when its talking and smiling etc. But its steel creepy to think the possible negative implications of many aspects of this machine.
I honestly feel like this avoids uncanny valley by owning its non realism. If it was dressed in human clothes and attempted to have skin tone and texture like a human, it'd be uncanny valley, but this is doing none of that and choosing to do none of that on purpose.
@@newq Yeah, by it not having skin it doesn't creep me out as much i like seeing it like this just give it a few more facial motors some legs and i'd be perfectly fine it's by far way less creepy then the Sophia one.

I much rather robots take on better or more efficient designs rather than the human appearance. Why limit a machine to human form...when the possibilities are endless.
For example: Transformer- A robot that can double as transportation or a mini shelter. One that can manipulate its body to suit the human needs is my idea of maximizing a machine's true capabilities.

Yeah that whole thing about it being done intentionally just doesn't make sense when they're actually trying to create something as advanced as they can. It's like, let's create a human like robot in a multi-million dollar industry that is the pinnacle of technology, BUT let's f*ck it up a little.
