Just wanna say been watching since you first started building your miata and I’ve made an effort to watch every single video since! You’re the only TH-camr I make sure I watch their uploads. You’ve taught me so much about just working on things and cars and all the good stuff. Just wanted to say I’m grateful you rolled the dice on TH-cam and stuck it out for all of us!
Taylor Balance your trailer tires. They’re spinning just as fast as your truck tires ( faster if they’re smaller). That vibration will cause them to fail prematurely. Same for beating up the hubs on your trailer Either use wheel weights, or some balancing media. Since I’ve started doing this, my tire failure rate has gone to nearly zero. I either wear them out, or my infrequent use trailer might weather the tires before I replace them.
Just a thought Taylor.I had this Jack and used it to lift my 28’ enclosed trailer and it bent the Jack. That said my trailer was not aluminum. After that I kept a steel jack in the trailer for the trailer and a aluminum for the race car. Great video. I’m jealous of that trailer.
several things that i have done for hand-me-down tool setups is buying individual sockets online for cheap to complete kits aswell as magnetic pads to keep wrenches in relitavle order without organisers. Also I found an adjustable wrench that is actually good. its a locking adjustable basiclly you adjust down to the size you need and then lock it like locking pliers and it makes a world of a difference. the airline track is what they use for seat rails (they are titanium on the aircraft i worked on)
Those US General items from Harbor Freight are hard to beat for the money. I have a different version of the service cart + a 44 inch roller and top chest. They do handle a lot of weight in heavy use well. Nice gray. I concluded several years ago that labeling my drawers in all my tool cabinets was the smartest thing I had done in a long time.
I run 14 ply. Love it lol. Have no issues bc the tires are super over kill. I run suntecks and venom powers!! What’s great with 14 ply, they’re amazing for stationary storage. Helps out much
Taylor It's amazing to see how far you've come, I started watching rite before the Fummins build and it seems since then it's only been one way ⬆️ Awesome 👌 ☮️
With the long cable for the trailer, I’d put a plug for it on the side of the shop to, so that you can run a trickle charger to it, and can have power to it whenever you need. Love the videos though, much love
I would suggest adding a plug to the outside of the shop with the same plug as the generator so that you can run the trailer / bus AC from "shore power" at home quietly.
Loving the upgrades, at first I was worried that you were doing wheels and tires, and that seemed a bit bling but you did the more down to earth necessary part. Then you have to load it up with tools, and instead of making us suffer through a RAID SHADOW LEGENDS! ad so that you could buy all new things, you went more down to earth and handed down tools to yourself. I have always loved your content, and that is just part of it! Keep up the great content, and for the love of everything holy stay grounded!
Man, I would add a wood counter top on that at built in work bench. They have unfinished butch block at Lowe’s. Then you won’t damage the nice metal. Wood is nice to attach a vise. I like it cause when it does get gross it can be taken of sanded and refinished like new.
I'd agree HOWEVER with 14ply and his load capacity, I doubt he'd ever have 2 go. If he did have a situation where BOTH are punctured at the same time, either A. Tires are likely not what he will need to worry about (2 tires going at the same time would likely be the result of further extensive damages! The first tire will usually "save" the other to the rear if hitting something in the road.) and B. You can drive on one tire down (obviously slower) to make it to a shop to get the others fixed! You're SUPPOSED to (and should) install the spare and immediately go to get the bad tire repaired/replaced. (Which of course many don't and I bet your situation is the same as the following..) you had one blow, then continuing along and the other blew later on... That's extremely common, and is EXACTLY why you should get the bad tire sorted immediately after changing the spare! (You should also rotate your spare in much more frequently (again which commonly people don't! Hell I bet most people never rotate their trailer tires at all!) because a spare with brand new tread being thrown on (typically when someone has a trailer tire failure, the tires are no where near "new" and if the load is substantial, the spare tire may get over loaded because of the greater diameter and cause they to fail in short time!

Good call on the 14 ply tires. Might want to be aware to cut back back a bit on your trailer brakes in the wet, as the harder compound will lock up quicker…
I’d get a couple cheap porta power hydraulic ram kits to keep in the trailer and home garage. They come in handy for straightening light structural damage and heavy sheet metal damage if you happen to bin it in a wall or a heavy hit from another driver. Tons of uses for them.
Very smart move on the trailer tires we own a tire facility and try to explain this to people with trailers and campers to go with heavier ply tires some listen most don't and first pot hole with load they have blow out
Taylor, each one of those fittings for the Aerotrack have different and very specific use. Some are for perpendicular strength and others for horizontal/lateral use. I am familiar with these as they are used for suspending loudspeakers, I am in that industry. Although the track will fracture before the fitting, caution should be taken for the manner in which they hold something. Just say'n.
Tires are the best thing you can do on your rig. My dad has had to replace the front clip of our toterhome twice now because of not replacing tires and having them explode
I highly recommend the predator 3500 inverter generator. I go to and vend at about 20 shows/events a year. Is say that 75% or better of the vendors I see are running predator inverter generators. You can get a great remote start kit for them too.
Nice video I’m going through same with e track and box, compressor, jack/stands and fridge and all that good stuff. Tired of 2 hrs packing stuff each time for go to track. Ya need to look into foam and/or widgets
Make yourself an adaptor and any regular plug in your house or garage will run that AC unit and lights easily. I keep mine plugged into the shop whenever Im home.
That trailer is absolutely sick. Would kill to have one like that. I admire your ability to keep everything somewhat organized and keep everything mint , a lot of love and appreciation goes into your projects. (Coming from me , a hack job lol) Love watching and learning little things from you man. Even if it’s something simple like this video. Hands down one of my favourite TH-camrs 👍🏻
As an electrician. The “better for the house” cord” is what you should have used for your feed to the trailer. An 8AWG 3 conductor cable is what you want. Maybe a minimum of a 10AWG.
Tire speed rating is likely a huge factor in the blowouts . Not only are a lot of those standard 10 ply tires usually the cheapest variant they can get, but their speed rating is often like 60-65mph.
JFYI, Mac's has actual jack mounting hardware if you want something even cleaner. I just switched to over the tire Mac's straps for our cars and like it much more than the old tire/axle straps.
I had a bad experience with the Castlerock tires on my travel trailer....the first trip out I had one come apart on me. I found the closest tire shop off the highway and replaced them all.
Ditch the generator all together and go with some LiPo4 batteries, 4 decent panels on the roof, and an all in one inverter. Silence with unlimited track power and AC is the way to go.
So there are a couple of ways you can really make that air conditioner efficient. For one, If it can be run From truck power While on the road You can start it About 30 minutes before you get your destination and let it get a head start. The other way would be to use 1 of those plastic Milwaukee squirrel cage style fans which I'm sure you have for cooling off Your cars For when you're in the pit or in a non moving condition you take it up there and set it to where it Pushes air across the condenser coil. The condenser coil is essentially just a radiator And it's not gonna work right if you don't have air flowing across the coil just like in your home air conditioner the condenser has it's own fan to make sure that it can generate air flow even sitting in a little side yd or a closed off area beside your house. The same For the trailer have some air moving across it when you're sitting And things like that if you can provide some air across it because it's not gonna have a dedicated fan For the condenser It will Really make it run a whole lot More efficiently, a lot more effectively. Just some thoughts from an old AC guy.
Mount the jugs on the walls. Get the skinny wall racks for all the consumables(brake clean, cleaning supplies, etc), get a big push broom and a small broom as well. Would something like a Dirtcar hydraulic lifts be feasible with your drift cars?
Hey brotha, I’ve been watching you since I was in HS back in 2014. I never comment but always watch, ik this comment sucks but to put it simply “start working on your health or you wont get wealth”. Much love Taylor.
Those Predator generators are legit....we rodeo and I don't know how many of those I see running living quarters horse trailers on any given weekend....they are a great value and just as quiet as the Hondas are....just my .02
Come on Taylor... Admit it; You didn't miss. You just like smacking us in the face. 😂 All jokes aside, I'm really liking your train of thought with your organizational modifications on the trailer. It's looking sick, and that airline track is a prime choice. So clean and simple. I think I actually prefer it over the traditional track. At least, aesthetically. Nicely done.
Need to get you the long reach Milwaukee 1/4 and 3/8 drive ratchets. I'm a GM tech by trade, I use the absolute shit out of them. I have a normal size 3/8 drive that has been used maybe twice in 2 years. The long reach ones you'd think are harder to get into places, which is occasionally the case, but they are a life saver so many times.
If you don't want to strap one to the wall, add a second track under the toolbox and get four smaller rachets or chains to hold it. That ring will wear through the strap for the toolbox, and you'll be in for a bad surprise!
If you want a truly quiet generator your should look into either an Anker or Jackery solar generator. On the pricier side but no noise and run off sun power!
Hinesight 20/20 but a solid upgrade would have been to install TPMS into the trailer tires, so you could see the tire pressure and tire temperature, so you can also prevent a blowout.
Oh to have a ‘simple’ tool box like that. I work on Historic racing cars, Let’s take a Cooper T23 with a Bristol Engine and drivetrain for example. Starting with the carbs, a mixture of BA and Whitworth nuts and bolts, bell housing, all Whitworth, Suspension is all AF/Imperial, more modern stuff like the fuel pump is Metric… 2 sets of each spanner type means 8 sets of spanners in total (BA is only small so not too bad), then you have sockets for all sizes, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, Imperials and metrics, then Whitworth in 3/8. Don’t get me started on the threads, UNF/UNC/BSF/Metric, then you have Imperial and Whitworth both using the same fractions for sizes, but being completely different sizes!
just so you know, because you used a 15 amp plug and wire to run the AC unit it will not last as long maybe up to 5 years since you won't be using it often but it will significantly improve the life of your ac unit just by using the 30 amp plug in and appropriate wire size.
E-track for mounting down the cars. Then use the light weight air track for mounting down the other stuff. There are many things I don't understand about the US. Cheap trailer tires and the 45 different standards for electrical plugs being a couple of them. Edit: For straps, you could put them in small tool bags / boxes. Then they're easy to grab and you can sort them by size.
Looking amazing Taylor! What a fantastic setup. Have you considered using something like shadow foam to hold in place tools when they are being moved around a lot?

You should get one of those magnetic shop towel holders for that beautiful toolbox
Always in for the Trailer/Shop upgrades!
It’s also worth getting two spares. I have had to replace two on the side of I40. Glad we had a spare, spare.
@@Aduki65 happens here because trailers don't need to be inspected and because a substantial majority of people in this god forsaken country have absolutely no consideration for anything or anyone except for themselves!
@@Aduki65 oh and the reason it seems to happen here more too is because there's 5 times the population and are 40 times the size as the UK!
From what I've seen, trailers over across the pond tend to look like nothing more than a hay wagon!
Do you see anything like Taylor's?
@@Aduki65 unfortunately ignorance knows no bounds, it knows no race, no wealth, no status quo..... Unfortunately it appears to be thriving all around the world! I don't even know a sliver of what's going on in this world but it's truly not hard to see it's just sad..... More so in the disgusting kind of way.... Just to be clear 😂
Sorry kind of went off track and got depressing.....
What I mean about no consideration is people have absolutely zero issue with pushing the limits especially when it "saves" a few bucks! Are trailers are huge, they are heavy and often over loaded and have zero qualms going a high rate of speed! (Many blowouts are because too much weight, too fast of rotation and improbably aired! Not to mention we're deemed illegal 2/32's ago! 😂 (I don't know how you guys measure tread depth, considering when it comes to tires (or tyres! That I know 🤣 but here basic mathematics and measurements are cast aside, obviously you're are sized 1. A metric system 2. Aspect ratio (percentage) and then 3. Imperial system. Here tread is measured in 32nds, 2/32 is not considered 1/16"! Same goes with 4,6,8,10,12 thirty seconds! 😂.... Not that it matters at all, the imperial system as a whole is dumb and mostly makes zero sense! Such is life! 🤣😂🤣😂😁😬🙂😞😭
Completely forgot to say the reason I went down the last rabbit hole (ADHD is the reason for that 😂)
But I mentioned tread depth because the joke I was making is the lowest legal limit of tread on tires IS 2/32"s...... (BaDumTss)
Smart move on the trailer tires. Cheap insurance in the grand scheme of things. All other reasons aside, just having tire problems is such a headache on the road
You should make the red bus box, a bus specific maintenance/repair parts and tools
Get yourself a Predator generator from harbor freight they are just as quiet as the Hondas. I’ve had mine for 5 years with no issues.
Where has Josue been?
Some more additional ideas for electrical stuff:
- zip ties
- butt connectors (assorted sizes)
- ring and fork terminals (assorted sizes)
- self tapping screws
- 12v power probe
- heat shrink kit
- electrical tape (assorted colors)
- spare wire (different gauges)
- fuses (assorted sizes)
- soldering iron
Good call on the 14 ply tires. Might want to be aware to cut back back a bit on your trailer brakes in the wet, as the harder compound will lock up quicker…
Put copper anti seize on the roller of your lower door hinge of the ram to rid of that squeak!
I’d get a couple cheap porta power hydraulic ram kits to keep in the trailer and home garage. They come in handy for straightening light structural damage and heavy sheet metal damage if you happen to bin it in a wall or a heavy hit from another driver. Tons of uses for them.
Oh nice color on the box. I have the tool cart in gray
I got that exact same toolbox last year for my new trailer and it is fantastic think I will now borrow your track idea for it thanks
Very smart move on the trailer tires we own a tire facility and try to explain this to people with trailers and campers to go with heavier ply tires some listen most don't and first pot hole with load they have blow out
The tailor looks so clean man and great choice on those tires.
Just say'n.
Your attention to detail is admirable🤙
If those are the 14 ply off Amazon they are amazing. I put a set on before our pa to Florida trip to FF in February and they were awesome!
Don't want to get too top heavy. Thanks for your videos!! I bought the same jack and it's heavy as hell.
Make yourself an adaptor and any regular plug in your house or garage will run that AC unit and lights easily. I keep mine plugged into the shop whenever Im home.
I second this. Specially with all the welding outlets that he had put in around the entire shop
Probably be a good idea to put a walk-in fridge flap door to keep the colder air in the trailer. Just a thought.
push broom & place to mount it, jack stands, paper towel rack, place to mount a couple easy-ups...
tables and chairs as well. If you mount airline track on the walls, it is a great and simple way to mount a lot of odd items.
You should bevel the ends of the track. Its what i do in my construction trailers. A lot less tripping especially by the door.
Should collab with a company to color match wrap the tow rig to the trailor. That gray is sick and looks great with the chrome and brushed metal
should pour a pad beside shop and a lean-to to park trailer under. keep the streaks off it.
As an electrician. The “better for the house” cord” is what you should have used for your feed to the trailer. An 8AWG 3 conductor cable is what you want. Maybe a minimum of a 10AWG.
Can not WAIT to see the Miata revamp! That Car is going to end up being the best car on the channel again after you redo it.
I would recommend strapping the toolbox down over the sides, as if you strap it down to the floor, it will overload the wheels
Love the Trailer Ray content
Tire speed rating is likely a huge factor in the blowouts . Not only are a lot of those standard 10 ply tires usually the cheapest variant they can get, but their speed rating is often like 60-65mph.
Great functional upgrades Taylor!
US general is decent that grey though is killer color I had couple blue and green ones
Always top notch when you do work, thanks for sharing!
Ditch the generator all together and go with some LiPo4 batteries, 4 decent panels on the roof, and an all in one inverter. Silence with unlimited track power and AC is the way to go.
love the content dude. been watching for a year or two now and it' so wild to see how far you've come
So there are a couple of ways you can really make that air conditioner efficient.
I think the best setup would be a truck and trailer, and if you want to stay at a track a small rv you can pull the trailer with.
cant believe milwaukee STILL haven't reached out to sponsor you after all these years, maybe one day lol
I miss this style of video going to the store and everything
glue a magnet strip under the socket holders to keep them in place
Hey brotha, I’ve been watching you since I was in HS back in 2014. I never comment but always watch, ik this comment sucks but to put it simply “start working on your health or you wont get wealth”. Much love Taylor.
Those Predator generators are legit....we rodeo and I don't know how many of those I see running living quarters horse trailers on any given weekend....they are a great value and just as quiet as the Hondas are....just my .02
It's sick that the tool box comes built if you have a fork lift, getting my 44" in the shed was not fun 😆
Come on Taylor... Admit it; You didn't miss. You just like smacking us in the face. 😂
All jokes aside, I'm really liking your train of thought with your organizational modifications on the trailer.
Love TRay videos! Let’s get some Jibber Jabber Motorsports stickers on the site!
If you don't want to strap one to the wall, add a second track under the toolbox and get four smaller rachets or chains to hold it. That ring will wear through the strap for the toolbox, and you'll be in for a bad surprise!
Should consider sockets in the top part. Ull be more efficent
If you want a truly quiet generator your should look into either an Anker or Jackery solar generator. On the pricier side but no noise and run off sun power!
Taylor you should build a tire and wheel rack on the wall that would clear up a lot of space instead of having stacks of tires and wheels all over
That toolbox is going to weigh a decent amount, might be a pain to get into trailers. Good luck!
I can’t wait for comps, I feel like past season was so short
😂😂😂😂😂😂
just so you know, because you used a 15 amp plug and wire to run the AC unit it will not last as long maybe up to 5 years since you won't be using it often but it will significantly improve the life of your ac unit just by using the 30 amp plug in and appropriate wire size.
That would be 10 awg, Bigger is always better for compressor loads 😉 Ole lectrician
Boxo tools need to get Taylor a sponsor asap
Whip up a muff for the generator. You have the welder and skills. Id be interested to see if they can be quieted.
Then they're easy to grab and you can sort them by size.
should take the toolbox off the casters and mount it to the cabinets it looks like itd be even height wise too
Looking amazing Taylor! What a fantastic setup. Have you considered using something like shadow foam to hold in place tools when they are being moved around a lot?
Any thoughts about adding a hidden winch box like you did in your last trailer?
Valve Stems and Wheels rated for the pressure with the new tires? 14 ply minimum and 2 spares every time
