I've seen some amazing Skater XL clips come from the Big Ramp map, but I'm definitely not one of them. I don't know if it's because I don't skate vert in real life, or maybe I just suck at the game, but something about the Big Ramp map in Skater XL is LITERALLY impossible for me to get a single good clip at. Maybe me and mega ramps just don't work well together... If you guys have any help or tips for me to try out to get some more realistic gameplay out of the mega ramp map in Skater XL, please let me know. I need help. K thanks.

Console player here. I slow my spin down by pressing the opposite trigger shortly after coming off a ramp or quarter pipe. It takes time but you can hold one trigger and feather the other a bit. Also milky pumps transitions by pressing sticks in opposite directions (opposite of Ollie/nollie). Hope this helps!

Transition skating is like the motion of a pendulum, there is a proper timing for it . Kind of like skating a bank you can feel that perfect moment of slowing down that lets you know it’s time to pop the trick. I’m saying this from a skating in real life perspective as well as in the game 👌🤙👊

Edit your stats menu and save a preset for mega ramp and a preset for transition. You'll primarily be editing pump force, body spin, and pop height. You can also use the leg modifier for nose and tail grabs to create air and tail walks

Some of those things that happened on vert, like detaching from the wall, landing to flat, etc. are real to skating a ramp that's got facets like this. There's some realism in some of these mistakes. Also, the grind and drop off to the lower part of the ramp is true to form.
To those who don't know, you can also ride the desert all around the ramp. The game allows you to go quite far and there is some nice, stupid things to do. Especially if you take all the speed you can from the ramp, then jump outside and try stuff like 200m powerslides, jumping over rocks, etc.
To get better at vert:
1. Turn autopump off in XXL mod
2. For realistic rotations, Turn bodyflips on in XXL mod and turn down the speed. Use the analog stick along with your grab of choice to slow rotate.
First thing: Don't really do any Alley-Oops bigger than a 360 spin, do more mutes than Indy's and try to land in the top by the coping than half-transition. Hope this helps you and that you get some sick megaramp clips!
Funny story but I actually got on top of the water tower. It had a really glitchy invisible barrier and you would just roll off.
To help with the mega ramps tricks try and slow down your spin and flick speed. (with the mods ofc)

You should skate the vert ramp in first person
For me it helped really to make the Vert Challenges i would recomment to do this
Garrett Olli earlier when you're on the big ramp and always grab the board it won't work all the time but it will work majority of the time

I don't play skater XL so I might be wrong, but if in the skater XXL mod you can change your spin speed, then you could slow down how fast you spin

I play vanilla skater xl and this map works pretty well without the glitches your getting
U just changed my concept of life. You dont know if anything is realistic unless youve done it or felt it irl.

Lower your dead stick dead zone so your character will start spinning as soon as you move you joysticks then you can spin slowly

The jittery rotation when you try to spin slowly probably has to do with your controllers stick sensitivity and dead zone if I had to guess but idfk

As much as I love this game and as biased as I am towards it, man, I have to admit it was far from ready from a full release, no npcs, the physics are still floaty as hell, little to no game modes at all with the exception of some challenges, it really does feel like a tech demo and that’s coming from a guy who loves this game and plays it every day, if they gave it another few months or year to perfect transition gameplay and get some life into the maps and make a difficulty level like the skate series it would be amazing

I’m not very good at this game, but I’m pretty decent at transition and the mega ramp in general. I’m on console, and I think the issue you’re having is with the stats menu mod. It doesn’t interact well with the transition physics
