Very good video. Thanks! For removal of the ac-compressor bolts a normal socket and ratchet are too big to fit. I had to buy an E12 with a flexible socket attached to the handle. Worked nicely. For loosening the belt I used a short 15mm wrench and an extra hydraulic lift for the necessary pressure, otherwise there’s not enough leverage. The whole job is a major PITA. So this video helps a lot!
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I appreciate that you included the socket type and size and tips that you used to make the job easier. It will be very helpful when I replace my alternator on my B200.
I noticed in the video you cut off when you were going to take the top bolt on the alternator. How did you get that top bolt off? I am having trouble taking that one off.
Hi, thank you for your question. I personally don't think its unsafe to drive thru rain or snow... this car was already 9 years old or so. But, the location is horrible and with dirt and water/ salt it can prematurely damage the alternator if the plastic shield is not in place.
Very good video. Thanks!

Thanks brother amazing video. Saved me alot of time

Can the bent be tightened without the spanner you use?
How did you remove the top bolt
how much is to replace it
Due to the location of the alternator, is it unsafe to drive in the rain and snow? Can water getting on it cause it to burn out?

I have got b180 w245 diesel automatic 2010 model. I have paid £320 for an alternator work
Such a strange design car😢
Yes. Unfortunately, European car engineers like to make things as complicated as possible.

This vehicle looks a horror to repair, i initially wanted to look for this model or w169 but the conception is shit. Repair then gets more expensive.
If you haven’t got a 15 m big big spanner don’t bother,tw#t of a job👍
This job certainly is not for the impatient.
