I would never drive a diesel. It would either be the 740i, which is a no for me, 750i or AH7 would be the decision to make, and the price doesnt range by a lot then, so I would go the AH7 over the 750i just for the quick acceleration through the electric.
Have you ever actually tried a BMW diesel? I've driven a 530d for a couple of years and it's one hell of an engine. It has the torque that a petrol engine just can't match. The 740d is just one hell of a car. Ofcourse, the 750i is (almost) the top of the range, it's quieter, but it's more of a cruiser and the 740d has a bit more grunt in the legal-speed range.
yes of course, i drove the 530d e39 for 2 years. The car is powerful, close to the fastest car I drove, except for the 7 and 8 class, but I always was repulsive against diesel, the "d" on the car model (this sounds stupid, i know), the smell, the engine noise, the start up, Diesel isnt bad, its just not my thing
Good afternoon, I live in Japan. I bought one similar to this BMW Active 7. I wanted to know the type of oil I use and where the oil dipstick is. Could you please teach me?
That would be too simple ;) The first number refers to the series 1, 2, 3, etc., and the other two refer to the engine power, not size. A few years ago a 740 was usually a 4-liter V8, but now 740 is just just a more powerful version of a 3-liter straight six.
i know the first number is the serie im not that dumb i mean before the 40 was the engine size just don't get why is not 730 then if its a 3.0 litter...
Basically yes ;)
It's for the upper management to feel green and sustainable, while they drive from the corporate HQ to lunch and back.
They only way to own a V8 without stupid ridiculous taxes...
Prea mari taxele la așa ceva darămite la 4.4 litri
AH7 accelerates 4.9 seconds, not 5.7 according to BMW.
I think you're referring to the V8 AH7, which is (was?) available in some markets. The one tested here is a 3-litre straight six version.
Marek Drives Oh, well then im sorry, if there really is a V8 thats awesome

Use oil recommended by the manufacturer. I have no idea if there even is a dipstick. Some modern cars just rely on sensors.
Very good review - thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Za krótki ten film :)
Thanks so much for this vid!!
So basically you pay more to have some boot space removed . well lol .
740 not suppose to mean 4.0 litter? i always though...

Alex Rodrigues The same engine displacements get different power outputs.
