Watching these videos it is very clear that a thorough understanding of the laws is necessary for these landlords. They also should be taking action as soon as the first payment is missed. Regular maintenance inspections should be undertaken.
If the council can forced landlords to do repairs why can’t they force the tenants to pay up their arrears at the same time? Otherwise this just encourages tenants to owe rent money which is also not fair to the landlords & still get a new nicer place in this instance. If tenants can’t pay in full then they should be forced to pay what they can - pay rent - maintain house - it works both ways
That house with the old couple was a beautiful 8 bedroom home, what nasty horrible people to ruin that lovely home and disrespect the landlords like that!! Them tenants should be embarrassed!!!

I feel so bad for the couple.The abuse they have had to endure from those horrible tenants.I could never stop paying rent or treat owners homes like that.I rent and treat the home lovingly as my own.The owners are great and whenever something needs doing they are on it straight away.

I think it would be in the best interest of the room rental landlords is to hire a room manager and give them free rent to manage the property and tenants.
In my state, the eviction process took 7 weeks from start to finish. Just let my lawyer deal with it. Cost a bit but getting rid of renters that don’t pay was worth it!
They should be ashamed treating seniors that way.
How these tenants dont pick up after themselves even when evicted is beyond me. They should be ashamed of themselves.
The leaky toilet is 100% the fault of the tenant. Tenant doesn't report it, then a 200 quid job turns into a 20,000 job. The landlord would have fixed it immediately. The tenant should be held responsible.
The tenant did report it . The landlord refused because the tenant had rent arrears. Morally, both were at fault.

In vermont landlords can issue a "No cause eviction " and the tenants have 10 days to be out

Is there any single sector of business that does not have its issues? According to most research studies, only around 5% of tenants are troubles makers. Place your money in stocks, every single day, you don't have peace because you think the stock can anytime go down and you can lose all the saving of your life.

The old couple sadly is partly to blame. They should have evicted them after the first month of not paying. Why would you let it go years. And they should have called the cops the first day they could instead of giving more weeks
Cops won't do anything. It's been shown time and time again on these shows. They just say it's a civil matter.
the legal system is the issue here. but heres the thing, if landlords are just trying to fill a house quickly and dont take time to background check the tenant and loook at their face book and have a PI follow them for a month, then the trash will roll right in.

Why wait for the baliff I mean if u have a court order that there supp to b gone go in & move them out. I mean waiting 2 weeks for baliff is nuts. Here if u have an eviction order u can go in & move them out put there stuff ouside only have to keep it safe for 48 hrs. U also have to pay for the baliffs thats nuts.
the bailiff is legal protection. the person getting evicted can say they were threatened and harassed
some landlords are pigs. squatters and low live tenants should be ashamed. when you rent out to a clown you end up with a circus
Why would u not fix that kinda leak its so easy. Even if the upstairs tenant never told u about it in the US u can enter for emergency that would definitely b an emergency.

How could you use the toilet and not notice the big cracks and water coming out of it when you flush it. Didn’t know it they told the landlord the toilet had cracks in it and it was leaking every time you flush it. Ijs

The dude “squatting” IS TRESPASSING!! 🤨 (the other videos that I watched state that there is a criminal charge to it, or something like that.) Is there no reference check on the person/people that have applied to live there? If not you NEED TO START!! With their name and post it to anyone who THINKS of allowing them to rent anywhere else. Connect it to their credit report/check & whatever you have that’s equivalent to a “Social Security Number” here in the USA. And do ya’ll not have a deposit that you pay UP FRONT BEFORE YOU MOVE IN?? I do believe some of the “laws” there NEED to be CHANGED & ENFORCED TO THE MAX!! ✌🏻
Edited: 14 days is way too long & too NICE!! THEY TRASHED & DAMAGED the place. I’d give them 24 hrs to collect their “💩” which is ALL they have anyway & hit the road. You can tell A LOT about how others are raised by the way they treat others!!

Tenants get resentful paying rent to the landlord, and they trash the place. They feel the landlords are rich and taking their money. They limit access and do not report needed repairs. They let the water leak and such. I am done I will have to repair but I am selling!

I rent. I pay my bills,the place is clean,the landlord repairs anything that needs fixing. I had no idea this was unusual. I figure I need a place to live and he needs the money. It’s no wonder people don’t want tenants and rental properties are scarce.The law is unfair to property owners.
When you see this , the only thing you can understand is that the judicial system failed in this country. look at all their rude behaviour, they are never afraid of law. This is what happens when you develop only fewer cities and ignore the other city, then few cities become overpopulated.
Watched a lot of these video. There needs to be more Bailiffs. Eviction should be immediate according to the court order…no 6 week wait!

Watching from Canada. We get them out quicker, but damage and anti-social behaviour is on par with you. The tenants can turn out rotten no matter how hard you try to screen them. Lost thousands last year on garbage hoarder and pets neglected. She was horrible even though she knew I'd just had a heart attack.

The broken toilet.-That was a physical damage obviously caused by the tenant. How can a tenant break a toilet and then expect Landlord to fix it. They should have sorted it out immediately before the damage affected the kitchen. They'll do same again.

Those tenants cracked the toilet cistern and instead of fixing their damage they let it destroy the place and these rice eaters get looked after and the owner gets taken to court (dont figure)

When you rent two people that live on the door they have never had to work for anything so they are not going to care about what you have gained through your hard work. They move on to another residence and don't pay rent to them
Case 1 - Shame on that man for speaking to an elderly landlord couple like that - just disrespectful and shameful. Too many young freeloaders who think everyone owes them something and they don't have to work just taking what others work hard for and paid for. Case 2 - the family with leaking house; shame on that landlord; as that's an absolute life and health hazard to live in mold and leaking roof. That landlord should immediately be put to task - guess she thinks evicting that family will absolve her of being a criminal landlord. Case 3 - don't ever do anyone a favour; everything must be written and official delivery means. That West African tenant LPN was a true criminal and very obnoxious. Tenancy laws are just useless and need a major revision.
One is better to vanofe than buying or renting if they over charge.

if im an owner or a landlord of a house im renting and they stop paying and destroy the house etc, i be dammed if im going to pay more money to the legal system. also, the toilet look like the tenants broke it... then they stop paying there rent and they go after the landlord? then they get free housing? ok nope.

No way would I rent to anybody in the uk. Maybe the landlords didn't change stuff out because what the lady wasn't paying your rent these other scumbags leaving these homeowners with thousands of dollars in Old rent and all that damage they need to be in prison or if in Britain you don't pay they come after you if it's like a sewer company or something like that and they'll take your stuff to make up the difference so why shouldn't it be the same with these low rent renters that won't get the heck out owing 1000 of pounds in money to me is just messed up in Britain what companies will come after you and take everything you own oh a tenant owing oh no they can destroy your home and never leave and you're just out I wonder if in Britain if you claim bankruptcy do they still come after you for money
