      Yea, you can contact eufy support to see what they say because they are pretty good at getting back to you the same day or the next day to see if they have it in their timeline to readd the feature. Are you getting notifications somewhat commonly (sometimes multiple times in a row) that the battery is fully charged? I have mine hardwired as well I'm guessing sometimes the battery must drop from 100% to 99% then go back to 100% and it notifies you and there's no way to turn off that notification.

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've seen that issue mentioned by other users, but I haven't experienced it. However, I did notice that they removed the "Approach Interaction" setting. I contacted eufy Chat Support earlier and they said that it will be returning in the next update. Hopefully that also fixes the battery glitch. Btw, which firmware version are you on? I'm on 3.0.5.7 for the camera and 4.7.5_1843 for the eufy security app. You can also try to close the eufy app, clear the app cache (not app storage), then reopen it to see if that helps, but not guarantees. One other thing, when you first set it up, I assume you picked wired installation instead of battery installation right? I also have mine connected to the HB3, but I don't see why that would prevent me from getting messages.

    I tested it vs the "old" dual Dorbell.
    But the image quality from the new E340 is bader, Speakers are bader, Mic is bader....
    The only thing, the respons to homebase was 1 sec quicker (but somtimes it never connect or ring... (Maybe software issue), and no radar technology anymore....
    Only plus night camera with light and the lights on the top...
    But... in my opinion, not nessasary.
    I would buy the "old" S330

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn't notice the video quality was any worse on the new model, but yea I didn't find settings for radar like before in the settings either. I agree though, if you have the S330 model, this isn't a necessary upgrade unless you care about dual zone lighting and the ability to swap out batteries if you run it in battery mode for limited down time. Btw, some users have said they get messages about the battery level frequently every time when it's topped up to 100%. I haven't experienced that issue, have you?

    nice video as usual . I'll drop my 2 cents here : Eufy cameras never detect pets ! I have several eufys E330 Professional, Doorbell the old version, Eufycam 3 and all of them never detect pets.I've had them for a long time.Eufy has to work on that seriously. Whether the camera is set for All Motions or Pets detection ,they don't detect the cats wondering around in front of them . Can you check if this doorbell E340 detects pets or not ?

    8Gb Onboard Storage that's Expandable? Is that accurate? I thought it was 16gb and not expandable without the Homebase.

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This one is only 8 GB storage. If you want to expand it, you have to buy the HomeBase 3 and insert additional storage in the HB3. I made a video recently comparing a few video doorbells recently if you're looking to buy one.

  •  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Very good review, thanks for that! One question I have though. If I would like to swap my old S330 to the new E340, will the position of the screws line up with the new one? Or do I need to drill new holes? It looks like the position of the wire connectors on the doorbell is slightly different. Any ideas?

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've reviewed a handful of other video doorbells so I had to take the S330 doorbell off for a couple months before I installed the E340, so I can't say with 100% certainty, but I think the holes are different. It isn't different enough that I had any of them exposed after using the mount and side wedge though. You should be able to easily wire it though without any modification to your wiring from the previous model I think.

    How easy is it to remove from the wall so I can recharge the battery quickly. Also do you have to be right in front of the door for it to start recording. I have a terrible neighbor who is about 10 to 15 ft away from my door who always comes out to loiter. Who's this camera automatically start recording?

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It will record any type of movement you set in the app, so if you set human detection, it will record all humans. You can adjust the sensitivity so it doesn't detect too far out, but it won't be possible to tell the camera to not record the neighbor and to record other humans instead. I had mine hardwired so I never had to change the battery, but there's an ejector tool kinda like for a sim card port that you have to use to release the doorbell from the mount if you don't hardwire it, it's pretty easy to do if you keep the pin handy.

      @@DemCrumblies thanks, it's mainly for an apartment so only one person will be in front of the camera at one time for the most part. Tracking packages is fine but the main problem is to get rid of the riff Raff and drug problems that around my door. The property management won't do anything, butt with video evidence they might be more inclined to throw these bums out. I'm not sure if I should put this on the door itself or the brick veneer that's next to it. Also I don't like how it lights up even for a moment when someone gets near it because I don't want them knowing they're on camera. Also it's sort of bugs me that it's sort of pricey considering somebody could steal it. Do you know of the home base 3 only accepts the ssds or can it also take the older 3.5" 7200 RPM drives?

    I like when you say "There is a battery pack in case of an outage", I think that when you have an outage the doorbell will not be usable anymore since it will not have internet or a chime with power on. Question: what is the main camera view angle 130 degrees or higher?

      Hey Eric, it is similar enough to the older S330 model that I don't think this upgrade is necessary if you already own the S330 model. This new model has top lighting and lets you run it in battery or wired mode. If you run it in battery mode, they will be selling additional batteries later so that you can just swap out batteries to have minimal downtime, but overall I would still be happy with the S330 if I already owned it.

    Do I need to hold the mic button on app to talk and then leave it to hear what other person is saying? Or do I just click the mic once on the app and it works like a real-time 2-way conversation?

      Do you think i should go for the newer E340 or does S330 does a good job too?
      I am anyway looking to use either doorbells as wired only.

    You cant adjust each sensor zone like the previous doorbell?

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey @IPlayVidyaGames, I didn't find that option under Motion Detection like on the previous model. Also, in this video I showed the "Approach Interaction" setting where the lights can be adjusted and a guard or greeting light can be set, but since I published this review, that feature is now gone. I contacted eufy Chat Support yesterday and they said it will be returning in the next update, so maybe the advanced motion detection options like on the previous version can also return at some point, but no guarantees.
      Regarding pre-roll video, I never found any option in the app for that, or any mention of it on the eufy site. When I review playback events, it starts with the subject right away, so I don't think pre-roll is enabled right now. Maybe in an update also if you saw mention of it before?

That's the one huge advantage that Reolink has so far, proper software that can be installed on a computer so you can have a live feed of multiple cameras, whereas with eufy cameras, you have to use a web dashboard and you can't look at live view on more than one camera at a time. MISLEADING! EUFY CANNOT BE TRUSTED. EUFY UK DO NOT HELP CUSTOMER. Eufy said, rechargeable battery will last for six months but it only last just over two months. EUFY LIED. WHEN SPOKE WITH EUFY UK, THE stubborn ENGINEER STATED “UP TO SIX MONTHS”

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have mine hardwired, so my battery doesn't deplete much. However, with any doorbell camera system, battery life will be stated as an estimate and based on certain testing conditions, such as 10 or 15 second clips that are generated 5 to 10 times day for example. Battery life will be heavily dependent on how many motion based events occur in front of your home, the temperature outside since cold temperatures will drain battery life quicker, the recording resolution, etc. I bought a Blink camera that promised 2 years of battery life and it died in 3 weeks since I have too much traffic in front of my home. It's hard to estimate battery life for everyone's situation, so they usually have fine print which outlines the testing conditions they had when they came up with that number.
