    A great kit with many details for a 1/72. I have it in my stash waiting to put it together.

    These are some stunning results! Really realistic finish and some clever building hacks too! I have quite a few unbuilt club kits lying around, so this makes me look forward to building them! Have a nice day. :D

    Another great build Gary. Having built this kit previously, I was going to pass over it when my red box arrived but seeing this and how smart the invasion stripes look, it’s now firmly in the build schedule alongside the Spitfire!

    Well done on two things first the kit lovely build the Spitfire was nice this is better nice pilot figure and secondly 16k you deserve it and many more been losing my mojo lately but watching this l think tomorrow is get back to making my model Bf 109 thanks Gary 👍

    Thanks for the reboot, I thought it was my computer, Great build, just like the Spitfire. I had forgotten how small 1/72 was. You definitely need to do a little dry fitting before starting. Wish I could build it in " 20" minutes :-) but your video was extremely helpful. Cheers from the colonies.

    Glad to see you've redone this video the first one i saw ended at about the 12 minute mark. Nice job with a good result and good to see you highlight that it's good to plan your build to avoid possible problems, like the gun and rocket installation, and the cockpit instrument panel / decal application . This planning is probably second nature to the more experienced modeller, but it's always good to see it pointeds out with examples.

    The Typhoon is a nice little kit, and a good subject. Shame the tails used to fall off .... But I think this kit seems to go together well and a nice end result. Definitely worth the effort to paint the invasion stripes with a bit of shading to make them look a little scruffy and dirty. They were just slapped on in real life in an effort to ensure we focused on just shooting down the enemy planes for a bit!

    What a wonderful looking model Gary! You've made a really amazing build out of a tricky little kit, and with some handy and clever tips too. I love the finish you have achieved, looks so realistic, especially the d-day stripes. I hope I can achieve an end result half as good as you! A really impressive D-Day double. Thanks for another cracking build and video! 👌👍

    Great build mate. Can I ask, did you paint the pilot with a moustache? 😂. It certainly looks like on the video. Very impressed if you did. That shows a steady hand 😂. Superb as always.

    • @garys_stuff
      @garys_stuff  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn't specifically paint a moustache but the way I paint sometimes the shadow is quite strong so it looks like it!

    Enjoyed the build & appreciated the tips (adding the rocket rails & gun barrels). The finished kit looks great! 😂
    One question: what colour did you use for the wheel wells?

    • @garys_stuff
      @garys_stuff  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I may have gone a bit off-piste but I used a yellow chromate to imitate "Hawker yellow". It was a paint mixed by a firm local to Hawkers at Kingston-upon-Thames and was used for many planes, just not entirely sure it ever went of Typhoons. But I like it, so.....

    Hi Gary.
    Lovely build. Looks brilliant.
    Just after some advice. When you put on your weathering, which is normally enamel, once dry, do you then re coat with Matt or gloss varnish to keep it permanently in or do you put the weathering on as the very last thing? I feel with my builds I gloss varnish, put decals on, then weathering , and then want to varnish with Matt. Is that correct?
    Thanks Graham

    • @garys_stuff
      @garys_stuff  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Graham, yes I normally add a final coat of matt varnish to bind the weathering in and make it look better. The only exception would be if I'm putting oil stains anywhere, like oil fillers, petrol fillers, edges of engine access panels because the oil has a slight gleam to it. But general staining goes on before the final varnish coat.

  • @gregderuiter583
    @gregderuiter583 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Do you varnish it when finished? Cheers

    • @garys_stuff
      @garys_stuff  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, I normally do a gloss varnish before decals, then when I've finished with them and any weathering I spray it with a matt final coat to dull everything down.

  • @markadams5462
    @markadams5462 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    IMHO painting the U/C legs aluminium/silver makes them too bright so they are unrealistic. Would adding a drop of black wash help to dull the shine a bit? Good tip re cutting the instrument panel decal to clear a space for the gunsight. If only we could readily get the masks in the Antipodes at a price that laughs at the cost of the kit.

    • @garys_stuff
      @garys_stuff  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Probably should have added a wash of the u/c stuff from Ammo (or is it AK?)!

    Im just wandering Gary in the instructions it says for the radiator housing to be painted in 165 which is silver i think, why did you paint yours green??

    • @garys_stuff
      @garys_stuff  หลายเดือนก่อน

      165 is medium sea grey - no idea why I've used interior green.

    what cement are you using what's the name please??

    • @garys_stuff
      @garys_stuff  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most of the time I use Mr Cement SP, it's a fast-drying liquid cement and it's quite a strong bond. For bigger jobs I use Revell Contacta.

    Hello how many hours does IT take yOu to make this model excluding drying time only work

    • @garys_stuff
      @garys_stuff  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Really depends on the kit. Something simple I can do in about 6-7 hours work time, bigger kits take up to about 40-50 hours.

    • @Michu32421
      @Michu32421 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@garys_stuff When you say something is simple, you mean a Spitfire or Tempest in 1/72?

    • @garys_stuff
      @garys_stuff  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Michu32421 certainly the Spitfire is simple to build, doesn't take much time, the D-Day one only had the extra complication of painting the invasion stripes but they come as decals in the kit if you prefer.

    Good tip ref the stirrup hole. I didn't drill out the hole before closing up the fuselage and at the end I was looking at the stirrup/instructions/bottom fuselage for about 10 mins going...wut?

      Did the same on mine. Instructions don’t tell you to drill the hole. >< Made a guess from outside to drill a small hole where it showed the stirrup should go.
