I am an Absolute Beginner In Drawing Human Figures and Really Liked the Constructive Anatomy Book . I am a Medical Student So I also Have A Basic Ground In Human Anatomy and Some Drawing From My Medicine Course , But Never Anything Artistic.
Should I Buy This as My First Book ? If Not or Otherwise , I would Love to Know any Other Suggestions You Might Have Thank You!!! :)

Hey Sraban, well, Bridgman is a complex book in my humble opinion, so I would not recommend it for a beginner. For someone starting, it depends on what your artistic goals, but for certain I can say Loomis's book "Figure Drawing for all Its Worth" is probably the best starting point. Following from there it depends on what are your artistic goals, if you explain more I can give you a more specific opinion. Are you into fine art or entertainment illustration and design?

Hello , Zeb Posada ! Thanks For Your Response:))
Well , I Want to Learn To Draw Human Figures As they are and as I See People around me, Like Drawing Portraits and Figures , and it is I guess for Fine art although, as I Said , Since I am an Absolute beginner, I really Don't know much of any difference between the different forms.
In Our Med School, We Often had to Draw Figures , and Anatomical Illustrations in our Answers and I often Used To Make Rough Sketches using Geometric Shapes to Drive the Point Home . I was Struck On Your review when I saw an almost similar looking approach Of the author using Geometric Shapes in this Book , For which I Naturally developed an Inclination. I am Currently watching The Other Videos ON your Channel about The Other Books , although Bridgman Has a Certain Appeal So to Speak , but perhaps I may be just Judging a book by its Cover and hence Grossly Wrong . Maybe , You Can Give a Better Judgment.
But Either Way , This Is Going To be my "FIRST" Figure/Potrait/ Drawing Book , So Still Trying to Find Something That helps Me Build Up On My Prior Knowledge of Human anatomy that I have learnt , But In an Artistic Way , To Express , And To Draw Human Beings and life I see around. I guess Jack Dawson's SketchBook from Titanic Has Been The First Inspiration for me To All This , If That Makes Any Sense .
      :)

would you recommend these for someone just getting into anatomy? if not what would you recomend?

Hey! No, I wouldn't, I'd instead buy Jeff Watts "Watts on Bridgman" and the "Bridgmans Complete Guide to Drawing from Life", if you can afford those two at the same time go for them. IF NOT, buy the loomis book. "Figure Drawing for All It's Worth", that's the best one as a stand-alone.
After studying that one a bit try to get the Bridgman.
Depending on the art you wanna do I'd also recommend looking into comic artists, they're very good with anatomy.

@@zebposada thank you! I looked in to it and went with another book by michael hampton. I'll look into those too

@@astrangerontheinternet6901 If the Hampton book isn’t to your liking, I would say “The Figure” by Walt Reed or “Drawing the Head and Figure” by Jack Hamm are much more beginner friendly books. Once you get the foundation from these books, the harder books can be tackled.
