Authorities responded to reports of a vegetation fire near the northbound I-15 Freeway near Temescal Canyon in the unincorporated Temescal Valley around 11:00 AM.
Crews arriving on scene located an approximately one acre fire burning in heavy vegetation.
Firefighters quickly attacked the flames from air and ground but despite their efforts the fire quickly grew to over 30 acres.
No injuries were immediately reported and all northbound lanes of the I-15 Freeway were closed until further notice to accommodate firefighting activity.

Even though this is like literally just dry grass and shrubs, it’s incredible how fast it moves. Defensive space y’all
Where are the pictures of the Forest Service units that helped fight that fire?
Yogi Bear has the footage.
So they purposefully burn some areas? What is the purpose fo that process? So it wont have a chance to burn some other time?
It's called setting back-fires. Purpose is to burn back towards main fire as a small fire. Really effective in stopping fwd spread if winds are favoring for the needed direction!
Rick Allman I see. Got it!
The brush burns like butter
