Exactly enough people for this pitch-perfect satire of the sort of transparently branded social media content that inevitably recruits pervy, problematic people with personality disorders because that's who it skews towards attracting to land really hard and really funny. This is the first animation of yours I’ve ever seen, and it took a surprising amount of time for me to realize that this was a convention solely dedicated to a submarine sandwich chain! It only fully clicked for me once the CEO started presenting. I know this is probably an unintended way to be introduced to your characters, but it made the absurdity of a superfan dedicated to a restaurant even funnier. I think it’s a great sign of how much this cartoon works even without any previous context!
Follow up: I’ve watched the rest of the series and can safely say this is one of my favorite cartoon series on the web right now 👍 Absolutely wonderful stuff, I’m excited to see more!
@@aaron_long It was a total pleasure to watch! I even went back to check out the ‘special features’ and re-watch my favorite episodes. I’ve also been recommending this show to my friends! It’s interesting that this has turned into an intro episode for a lot of people! I wonder if the TH-cam algorithm spread it around more for some reason? Maybe it low-key suppresses videos with “episode” in the title. That’s just a guess though!
But still, do you honestly feel like this video will survive another 12 hours online? The return of the spicy Buffalo grilled chicken sub is way too much of a big deal for there not to be repercussions
You captured the typical convention report video so well! The footage speeding up with that sound effect, the phone footage, the CEO reacting to the over excitement.
So good to see more Sublo and Tangy Mustard. Love GeekGirl96's voice actress here. She really nailed the excitable nervous energy of trying to restrain her hype during the middle of a sandwich menu conference. lol
I was recommended this video today and just learned 2 hours ago that you had an entire series (Sublo and Tangy Mustard) and now I've watched all episodes so far. But now that I've slurped up all the content, I want more, give me the content Aaron Long.
Hi! I discovered Sublo and Tangy Mustard from this popping up in my recommended and just watched the whole series! I really love it. If you are reading this, I have a suggestion: For future episodes of the main series, consider not putting the episode number in the title. Now, I totally get why you wouldnt, especially because it may be confusing to viewers, but I did notice this video seemed to get a bit more traction in the algorithm. After all, I discovered the series through this after years of never knowing about it and I see others in the comments in the same boat. This is likely because it does not have an episode number or any hint of it being a part of a larger series in the title. My theory is that videos not percieved by a new viewer as being part of a longer series are more likely to get clicked, as they won't think "Oh, to watch this I need to watch the entire series first", and this idea is supported by a few channels I know who don't put episode numbers in the title nowadays. I also think that, unlike a letsplay or other more mass produced content, people will not get confused about the order of the episodes because of your infrequent release schedule. Also, perhaps you could release a compilation video, putting all of season 1 into one video, and the same for season 2. TH-cam heavily favors longer videos, so this could help you attract viewers without sacrificing anything about your show, and people are more likely to watch the entire series if its all in one or two videos (Of course keep the original videos up though, to be clear im not suggesting you get rid of those.) Those are my suggestions as someone who is a new fan and would love more people to see your work. I think these are small things you can do to help attract a bigger youtube crowd without sacrificing anything about the show itself. Thank you for this series, Aaron Long!
Yeah I've been meaning to post season compilations and also fix the numbering for a while... I bet you're right about just removing the numbers altogether, although the chronology is important to me... Hmm. Anyway I really appreciate you taking the time you write the long comment and give these suggestions, thanks!
