I have a ton of fire and echo devices, ive given to my parents, my in laws, ive subscribed to prime for over 10 years. My fire tv cube bricked and all they offered was 15% off a new one. No more. I bought an nvidia shield, cancelled prime and little by little I will switch my echos to google devices. Done with amazon and their bullshit service that has gone down the drain.
My 2 sticks recently started acting up & is now stuck on the dreaded bootloop but all my others are still up & running without issues. I don't get it. Tried all the tricks & still nothing 🤦
At least youve acknowledged the fact theres a problem but amazon need to get their arse in gear toot suite their product is not fit for purpose and their answer is "BUY ANOTHER 1" That is not a solution to the worlds #1 streaming tool and if they want to hold onto that title they need to action this NOW!!!
Had a new one delivered yesterday. Didn’t know about any of this but it ran a software update and then just dropped out completely. ‘No signal’. I tried it on two separate tvs, changed batteries etc and no luck. I want one for our new projector but not sure if it’s possible to stop the start up software update.
Sounds like there switching them off. So you have to buy the new Linux version my remote will not connect won't restart stick from phone app remote manufacturers update fault.
I had this problem with my Firestick 4k about a week ago. All I got was a black screen on myTV. I had two Firesticks, and one would work on an old Samsung TV and not on my Samsung smart TV. And I thought I was losing my mind. I looked on videos pertaining the subject and to no avail. And then I disabled my surge protectors (I turned them off), and then everything started to work. But I did learn a new word bricked. Thanks so, so much for all your imput. I greatly appreciate it!
Here's a question that nobody seemed to ask.... What if you're a developer and you keep your TV in this mode 24/7 (which I am and, I do keep it like that)
Mine bricked on a 4K reboot that left it permanently on a lockscreen with one of the choices being a system reset. The problem is that you cannot access that screen.
Bought a Fire TV during Amazon's July Prime days and still haven't hooked it up. What should I do to avoid this bricking situation? Other than not plugging it up? Thanks for any info!
Seems like another reason to avoid Amazon devices. I haven't even used mine yet and I don't think I ever will. Nvidia seems to be the way to go and maybe a Roku for the questionable apps? My overall goal is to have a firewall and home server with software to block ads, stop the tracking and keeping these back door devices secured from their manufacturers as much as possible so I can secure my VLAN, home theater, home automation and security systems for both buildings. I don't know how practical this goal is, but I'm going to try either way.
My firestick started restarting as I was watching movies then my remote stopped working about a week after that my firestick just stopped working altogether my TV doesn't even read it it just stays black screened
I sent a question over a week ago. To ask for help with the Roku Channel app. I keep getting a playback error saying unfortunately, we were unable to play this content. Please try again later. Any help that you can give me would be deeply appreciated.
I just wanted to mention one other thing.... I have to reset my fire stick/TV daily. (Only cuz of the sites I go to) *maybe this is why it hasn't happened to me* just sayin.....
It hasn't happened to my NVIDIA Shield Pro. It runs rock solid without a hitch. I love it. All updates made to my NVIDIA Shield Pro have been beneficial and without hassle.
Luckily my firestick has now been replaced by amazon thankfully I told them no matter if my device was 3 years old and out of warranty I said as a monthly subscriber I have consumer right's and that it was their fault with the software update they have done so I shouldn't have to go out and buy a new device when I had one already I said I'm going to give them 48 hours to decide to replace my device or I will seek legal action and said I know my right's as a customer people need to know it doesn't matter whether the device is 3-4 or ever old the device is if a company is still giving out software updates for that pacific device and it goes wrong in any way its the company's fault the device isn't working so they are at fault and need to replace it we all as a customer have consumer rights and are liable to sue and guess what amazon done for me tomorrow morning im getting a replacement device first thing they have said sorry and replace my firestick with a 4k ultra HD one too so people need to know there rights and fight back don't let a company tell you your device is out of warranty so they can't do anything about know your rights I won do yours
Another reason not to own a FireStick device. Every time mine was updated, I would have to do some sort of work around to get disabled functions working again. For example, I have to engage in a whole bunch of janky tweaks just to get my Wolf Launcher working again. That's seriously annoying. I would like to think that I own the FireStick after purchasing it. Do you really own your FireStick or does Amazon own it when they fundamentally screw around with the firmware whenever they want to alter the function of the device. This is why I purchased an NVIDIA Shield Pro. They don't pull the Amazon two step on you. I guess they respect your ownership of the device. Very very much worth it.
I'm honestly looking into getting a Nvidia shield. I'm going to have to look up and watch some videos to get familiar with using it. I don't even know what the boot up screen looks like. LoL. Any suggestions would be great!
IT'S NOT THE UPDATE THAT IS BRICKING DEVICES. . IT IS THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE THEIR FIRESTICK POWERED ON BY THEIR TVs USB PORT. . . THE USB PORT DOES NOT GIVE OUT ENOUGH POWER
sorry but pointless video you said exactly what happened, but that was in the title then went onto keep us watching to see what could be done , nothing ?.and what Amazon would do about it also no worthwhile info .. sorry pal thats basically a click bait waste of 3mins. you can take offence or take as feedback but it is what it is.
Mines been bricked for a week now, tried every single method I’ve found on the internet to fix it
Don't buy a new one. When you get screwed over by any company stop giving them your money.

Got a couple delivered the other day and same situation with both

I meant to say once I turned my surge protectors, the Firestick 4K worked like a charm.
And the Firesticks are only 4 yrs old. 😊
Yup mine bricked 24th Aug 2023. I hate the Firestick
Happy belated anniversary

Stuck on update and stuck on logo screen are two totally different problems stuck on update cannot be fixed

What would be the best alternative to firestick? Also, do you have a good site for streaming hockey? Thanks for all the great videos.
Did you find out what cause it to trigger something from Amazon that enabled them to brick your device? Was it a certain app, etc?
I just wanted to mention one other thing.... I have to reset my fire stick/TV daily. (Only cuz of the sites I go to) *maybe this is why it hasn't happened to me* just sayin.....
This doesn’t happen to the Nvidia shields does it?
Nope, not at the moment

Frig i don't need that crap right now.
The worst!
How about never buying another Amazon Firestick again?
I agree Philip. I use Roku 4K streaming sticks and Google streaming device. No problems when they get updated. 😊
Talk about click bait !
How do I fix this 😭
I wondered is it only firesticks that is over a year old then you can't get a replacement lmao
I watched this video the day it became a year old
Very good video, and good updates
You told us nothing
You will answer questions the first 2 hours, well the video is 4 minutes long??
Like the first two hours the video is released. Just like how I answered this one ;)
Ok, this was completely useless!!!
Thank you buddy love wasting my time giving you that view so you can get pay when the commercial comes on .
Thank you so much 🙏
My firestick has been bricking for year's with new updates. I don't understand why and I wonder if they are aware of the bricking issues. 😂
IT'S NOT THE UPDATE THAT IS BRICKING DEVICES. . IT IS THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE THEIR FIRESTICK POWERED ON BY THEIR TVs USB PORT. . . THE USB PORT DOES NOT GIVE OUT ENOUGH POWER
That’s not the issue in this case.
My firestick was plugged into the wall socket and it happened to me
T
Firestick SUCKS
Pointless video, no help wotsoever
We would be in helluva bind without these Cannucks.
sorry but pointless video
