I love the Luciano tarp configuration. So does the cat, loves Luciano too. I love seeing the cat. Dave said those stakes may not work for hard ground, but actually those stakes work really well (better than titanium and many other types of stakes I have used in the hard packed, rock-laden, sandy-gravely ground we have here. I have tried so many different types of stakes, trying to find some that work decently. These stakes go in to the full length and I haven't bent one yet, I've bent many other stakes though. These are my favorites. So much so that I bought a bunch more similar (from another vendor since SRO doesn't sell them separately).
Well it seems Mr. Canterbury has cover, covered, with a 7.8 x 7.8 cover ,well done once again sir, please keep the innovation and refinement of the C's coming , we love it.
Excellent video Dave! Really like the Luciano configuration. I've been wanting one of those tarps for some time now. Guess I'll just have to break down and pull the trigger on one.(Update: I just noticed that SRO is running a special on this tarp and the Pathfinder Hammock as a combo for US$69.99. Yeah, I jumped on one of those combo specials and ordered it. Two birds, one stone.) Thanks for the video Dave, and for sharing your thoughts, ideas and experience with us.
I feel that the pre-made ridge line should be used for emergencies and if time is not an issue you should carry an extra piece of cordage with no knots so you can tie them on site so you get practice tying the needed knots. Tying knots is a skill you could have trouble with when you need it most.
Yeah back in the day i taught myself how to tie a bunch of knots (at home) for the woods. But I'd go blank once i was actually out there needing to apply them
I did the survival University 2 Day basic class last year September 23rd 24 rd September 2023 I did same 2 Day I learn a lot of good skills I did 2 Day basic class June 7 8 of 2024 and are you inspired me to get off my ass and pursue my survival dreams and Sean Kelly incorporates corner and ranger gear thank you Dave Canterbury to to get the motivation to do thanks you
That triangle shelter with a 12x12 would be very comfortable in rough weather. The 8x8 looks a little cramped but dry and warm. I'm in Florida so it's almost always warm but the weather gets bad without warning. Thank you 👍 I'll be setting up that triangle tent this weekend.
Yup, I bought mine in brown. No cat, though. About two years ago or so. Dam, nice tarp. I've done the other configuration with the trekking pole thingy mo pobber one. I don't know what you call it.
I'm finally starting to use this toggle Ridgeline system that he is talking about. I cut up a couple old slingshots that i dont use anymore. Hickory and Eastern Hophornbeam (my favorite wood). Brilliant work my man. So simple and quick. Super job!
Will my disco ball and dance floor fit inside that configuration? It’s how I roll… Hey Luciano, my daughter in named Lucia because her mom, grandma, great grandma…. etc are all Italian. 🎉
I wonder how it compares to Aquaquest? I love a good tarp. What’s the hydrostatic rating on the waterproofness? Love the cat photobombing every video. 😂
@@lydiajohnston4954 I have one of each weight of the Aquaquests, two 10 x 13 and 10 x 10 Defender. Definitely bombproof but twice the weight. The Pathfinder is too small for me but no doubt is a quality product. I have a lot of their gear, all well made and designed.
BUT, what if you have to use your tarp to haul firewood in? Or drag a deer out of the woods? That’s why I use a 7x7 oilskin tarp that only weighs 12 pounds
No way can i handle all those knots. Except for square knot, and arbor knot, I just can’t remember them-or do all that you do to hang that tarp. So…why buy it?
Take some paracord where ever u go. When u have a few mins of spare time, practice some knots. That’s what I do and it helps a lot to remember and absorb
I hear you! That's why I started carrying a 5 foot piece of paracord in my pocket to randomly practice a few essential knots. it's worked well, and I also now always have a way to hang my backpack/camelbak/jacket or whatever just by looping the cord around any tree/object and using any little toggle (stick) or other object (pocket knife, pencil, ?) as the "hook" by using a marlinspike loop. It takes up almost zero space in my pocket and has proven very useful. No more wet/muddy camelbak.
Man that cat loves you.
This is absolutely perfect! Great versatility in all of the tie outs it has! plus guy lines as well as stakes and the bags! SWEET! Must have!

Pathfinder builds and designs great camping and survival equipment. Great video Dave Canterbury.👍☘️😎🇺🇸 Great seeing zhan once again.
Dave, you are the best (Guru) Teacher. I have ever seen.
I’ve been considering a nylon tarp like this one. Gonna have to check it out.
I just prefer the 12×12tarp to keep out blowing rain , being 6' tall I like a little more cover to keep myself a nd gear dry.
Checking it out, never buy things immediately after being told how awesome they are. Thank you for the video and the information.
You are a natural teacher. Bravo.
Looking good I like it you do a great job Dave teaching
By a 12 foot tarp
Thanks Dave for the tips and tricks!
I bought the brown one, a couple of years ago. Excellent tarp. Thanks Dave!!
Well it seems Mr. Canterbury has cover, covered, with a 7.8 x 7.8 cover ,well done once again sir, please keep the innovation and refinement of the C's coming , we love it.
Awesome!! Love the cameo by Luciano 🇮🇹. Great tarp. I love mine.

I just went on their site and didn't see that special listed. They must have took it down already. 🙁

I have it. The only thing I would change about it is the way the tie outs are sewn on.
I have the previous model and love it. This looks like a great upgrade for the future.
Long Live the Republic 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 God Bless America 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Screw scotch. He's a fake if there ever was one.
Good job Dave I know you put a lot of time in on you products and I think you genuinely try to get this stuff out to us at a reasonable price
Heads up that link is broken. Awesome set up thanks for sharing.
Cheers for the updates mate.
Excellence in bush crafting! 👍🏼😎
Looks pretty good man, great tips too! I appreciate you sharing Dave.

Amazing teaching thank you Dave.
Where did you find the toggles? Cat needs to be in more videos❤️❤️

I was taught to set up camp by an ex 82nd Airborne infantryman. He disliked big tarps and instead advocated using several small tarps.
Dave is short so he can get by with 8x8 😂
Thanks Dave. Much better price point than the DD tarps of the same size.
The cat stole your thunder Dave
Hay you are so useful and thank you for the information

Great video. God bless. From Glenn CATT. In Massachusetts.
Super cool. Great info.
Cat certification included…Have fun stay safe.
The cat was the star of this video, sorry Dave...😉
I love seeing Zon. Cat wait to meet and pet him at my first class

Very nice! Not bad price for that tarp either!
Like the pyramid to plow point. I am 6'5" worried that tarp might be too small. Can this tarp be used in your classes instead of 5'x7'?
Will my disco ball and dance floor fit inside that configuration? It’s how I roll…
Hey Luciano, my daughter in named Lucia because her mom, grandma, great grandma…. etc are all Italian. 🎉
Where can I buy a cat like that
This is now a barn cat videos channel.

The tarp is even bush craft cat approved, I think the cat is trying to get its own Instagram or something.

Thank you.
You forgot to mention why you prefer square to rectangle.
Whats the length of the weather pyramid shelter when inside for laying down?
Can I use it at the beach to sit on the hot sand?
❤️ the 🐈⬛️ 😊
thanks
Are they in stock again?
Dave, what do you do for a tarp when you have a 12ft double hammock?
What's the water resistance rating on these tarps? Is it 2,000mm, 3,000mm?
Outstanding
I might have missed it,
but, how long are the 6
tie out cordage?
I was interested till I saw the super green ship over the lands!
Excellent
Is it rip stop material?
Got a 12x12?
Dam good video on showing off the new tarp. Nice ideas and uses !! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🪓🔪👍👍
Good Stuff
god move kitty
Why are you pushing nylon and not silpoly?
So the selling point is that I do not have to tie knots? But you are are telling me to tie it full of stopper knots LOL
The suze us useless.
I miss the days when your channel wasnt just a QBC for your stuff.
Hooray 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Your logo would give away your position if trying to be stealthy
Does he really need instructor on his shirt. Lol
