Until I moved to WA I was like you and was a sand padawan. They key is to pin it. Simple. Flat change thru the gears until you get momentum. Love the vids. Only just found you guys. Keep living the dream!!
I see you like it rock hard in the rear too Tom. That pressure ain't coming down unless it's absolutely necessary; Fuel economy, tire life. Brilliant riding, miss Oz.
Great work Tom... love your vids. A note about tyre pressures, if your struggling run the Tubeliss systen and run like 8psi, but really its all about technique stand on your pegs...constantly. after a week up there I found I couldn't ride the sand sitting down but ripped it at 60-80 kph standing up
0:08 - 0:12, 0:57 - 1:13 Mate, what do you think about that Safari fuel tank? Good quality? I'm thinking of getting one for my DRZ so I can vlog in the middle of nowhere!
hi i love your videos and love the deserts too. but can you give some advice to a beguiner in driving in soft deep sand? i live in Peru and have lots of deserts and hiuge sand dunes! thaks
Hi 👋 mate Tony here from South Australia I just saw no one answered your question I don’t want to hijack this tread send me an e mail at tonyr3@internode.on.net and I will answer your questions as best I can I love deserts also want to ask you about riding at your place Cheers Tony
Man, I found your channel recently and I have been enjoying all your ADV content. I have a 3900-mile trip planned this summer (July) across the Trans America Trail on my CBR250l. How about I trade you a trip for a trip? I'd love to check out Australia.
Been riding enduro most my life, sand is horrible when first learning to ride it. But once you get good at it You'll be laughing. Small tips is to give the bike some more snot, grip with your knees & Look further ahead, I can see you looking at your front fender. Great vid
Hi Tom and friends....crossing the Simmo you will find that between the dunes there are flat clay pans which will allow you to rest after riding up the dunes, ride the simmo like a marathon and not a race. Is any one taking some essential show stopper spares, Clutch kit, clutch cable, radiator hose repair, chain links? What do you think of the new tent?
Yeah we been to the Simpson before, we have plenty of spares, it makes it easy as we have 3 WR’s, we are al carrying a spare item each, macpac tent is great, for a single wall tent it’s warm and doesn’t get much condensation
Hey Tom! I'm curious to know the best way to learn to ride in the dirt. Simply get out there and ride? Or would you recommend some kind of "training camps?" I've gotten nearly 200,000 miles under my belt on the road in the last 15 years. But I am a total newbie on the dirt. I'm planning to get a WR in a few months. Any tips and advice would be much appreciated. Thanks! Kyle
Loved when you passed the 4x4 best feeling
I can feel my front end washing out just watching this on a computer
Damn that looks like so much fun.
Awwwww yeah! Fantastic footage as always Tom 😁 keen to see the Simpson run!
Was looking forward to the cooking and drunk around camp segment. 😂
12:47 Nerb is killing it!!!
That 60 fps is just *butter* love it!
Putting it down, hell yeah. Love the scene of you tailing Nerb at the end, well done.
And... straight ahead... 1190 fears not bush... but the rider, just a bit.

This looks like so much fun (and an awesome challenge)!
As entertaining as always. Well done.

I had tubliss on my Ktm 690, I could never keep the inner tube at 120psi while on adventure so I don’t like it
Love your vids! On the other side of the planet but you make me want to visit the AU!
Love your videos mate
Love you guys I am a big fan
Nice job keep doing what your doing it entertaining
Great video
Cheers
0:08 - 0:12, 0:57 - 1:13 Mate, what do you think about that Safari fuel tank? Good quality? I'm thinking of getting one for my DRZ so I can vlog in the middle of nowhere!
Make some night videos like the good old 2014 days. I loved those 2 videos. Probably my favourite
Yeah they were fun, I’ll get the lads together for a night bush bash :)
42 PSI!!
need to go out and try the border track in big desert, that will give you a run for your money!!
Awesome 👍🏻
The more vids the batter... keep them coming

Great gang! I love my WR250 ARRRR :):)
@RidingWithTom, did you ride to iron knob in SA today ?????
How do you find the macpac bush cocoon? Much condensation?
What phone mount do you use? It seems to work well.

What bike u on?
So what’s the best way to ride sand? Weight the front or rear?
Been riding enduro most my life, sand is horrible when first learning to ride it. But once you get good at it You'll be laughing. Small tips is to give the bike some more snot, grip with your knees & Look further ahead, I can see you looking at your front fender. Great vid
And a 250 is more that enough. I assure you a great rider on a 250 will make you look like a chump on anything you ride.
Hi Tim. What camping tent ..matress .. ground sheet are you using in little desert vids 🤔

The Love-hate relationship with sand...
is there no part 3?
It’s hard enough to ride across little desert, let alone walk it?
Did you ever go on the Simpson trip? Awaiting the vid impatiently.
Do you carry food like those steaks with you the whole time or get it when you get somewhere? Seems heavy.
Damn that looked so soft!!!
Joejoe!!! Your cape York vids is why I got into adventure riding. Thou art the man!
Nerb ffs Liquid containment mate, there is no substitute, Desert Fox=Junk
Was thinking exact same thing earlier today, I'll mention it to him in person next time I see him
Shit I love these vids I live in dimboola so can relate btw if you get caught on those dry lakes they’ll take your bike on the spot
Not even Salt or pepper on that fine filet? Question: do you prefer the 690r or the WR250 in the sand?
Power was nice on the 690 but less weight is king in the sand, I’d take the WR any day in the sand
I would give anything to ride with these blokes. (I have no friends) 😩
2:34 what were the orange things in brendans ears
What camera do you use to film?
GoPro hero 4
People who live in Sydney: it can't be cold in the dessert
If it rains , does it help you in that sand?
I thought it would but didn’t make much difference
Yamaha should build wr450r
Very important comment. Yamaha pls step out of the band wagon. You should building bikes for the masses. People needs wr450r
Bithynian what's the chances? Slim I would say
Well, I guess I'm first 😁 . Another good clip mate 👍
Taut......i believe.
Not so much......taunt.
FIRST GEAR ALL THE WAY (>_*)
lol
South Australia is the and Vick’s like come and rip up are sand dunes in beachport 😡🤬🤬🤬
Don't go pissing on SA mate!
Think that sand is soft go to WA
