@@Tankwiper The P47 is basically the opposite of the spitfire. If you turn fight, you will die. If you get slow, you will die. and if you try to force overshoots, you will die. The thing about the p47 is that its a muscle car with wings. You just climb, dive, get a kill, then climb again. Rinse and repeat. Don't turn.
An excellent review by a superb pilot! As a half decent War Thunder RB Air player myself, to many hours to mention😊, I can highly recommend this channel! In the woods of braggers with 3-4 team members to help them out, this is something quite else; very sound advices all the way.

Great vid! I have a few suggestions though 1. you can turn off the 'sense of flight' (camera movents when accelerating and WEP) 2. to deal weith overheating you can use MEC (its easy for spit cos no 2nd gear supercharger) and uncheck 'compressor' mod (it will decrease power only a bit but you will be able to WEP more so you will have more energy average) 3. 600m convergence is too much for a plane with 120 rnds on cannons (i'd prefer 400m) 4. since you have overheating and ammo problems you should take 20 min of fuel (to fight more actively)
Your tactics are awesome, i used to think that spit mk v torp are overtiered as it had low speed and it would face fighters which were much faster and have better armament. You gave a great insight. How do u use cannon and .303 cal controls?
Enemy team: What's that? Oh....it's just a stupid old Spitfire. That's odd, does anybody here this it sounds faint... but it...sounds almost like it's the doom theme!? Seconds later the whole enemy team just starts dying.
Question I play on controller so I don't have the pleasure of looking around which isn't a big issue I know the spit or at least I know it enough to know my turns are better than most aircraft so when bullets come my way I somewhat bank into a turn up to look around which works most the time but I have trouble keeping my speed and when to engage some are easier example a Bf 109 or TBD I won't engage head on but bait them into a fight that benefits me but others like Yaks I have trouble deciding on what to do I try not to engage yaks since I hear there pretty tough unless I have too on controller what would be better. Banking speed into a high turn to look around or just trying to turn to see example in this video you got surprised by an enemy who got a couple shots of but you turned the camera to look where it came from I wouldn't be able to do that so there to be defensive I'd bank up in a turn to look for the enemy decide to engage sorry for this being long.
My favourite spitfire. It's funny how a version of the spitfire with an air filter on has overheating issues.
As a person who keeps dying in spitfires i can confirm this video helps
It's opposite for me: I do well in Spitfires but not so well in P-47.

I have cannons and additional guns mapped to the spacebar, and machine guns mapped to left mouse click.

Good ol' american players turnfighting spitfires and other turn boys. Makes it so frustrating to be on the same team as them.

Vertical energy retention, or how much of its original energy state the aircraft holds onto after climbing/diving.
