Wouldnt need sound bars if the tv manufactures would start putting in good speakers like they use to. Everybody wants cheap prices so now you have to buy seperate items to get what was once in older tvs / stereos

umm, have you seen tv's? they're like 1/4" thick in 2024. I swear people just bitch to bitch. it's like demanding your phone have a lot of bass. it's a 8th inch thick supercomputer, spoilers, it's not gonna. stop crying. theres an array of inexpensive soundbars available that sound great. get one. "Like they used too". Yeah and your 25" CRT TV cost $1000 and weighed 400 lbs too. The good old days right.

I have one. It's small but powerful. It will connect to a subwoofer to improve the sound, but I was disappointed to find the wireless speakers will not connect to the SE. It's still a great deal because it will connect to the Sub. I wish Roku would open it up and allow the speakers to connect.

cool idea. the one issue is once the roku hardware is outdated, you'll need to replace the whole thing.

actually, if you switch to a different streaming device later on a different hdmi port, it still uses this speaker for audio so that's a win in my book (tested it with my fire tv cube)

Well modern technology is great. Except it can hold you hostage. No update on your Roku TV. Then they can shut you out of it. Want to connect to your Sony DVR off line; first they inform you online you can get much more of an experience. More info. Yata, yata, yata. But you can choose no thanks. And then try to play that movie. You can't. DVR won't respond. Connections correct. Unconnected it put it in your Insignia not Smart LED TV the presto- it works. Had to fight just to get OTA channels. Easy to play movies with my Roku stick using my cell mobile hotspot on my Insignia. But using Roku TV apps using same connection says my connection is too slow. So I went back to Roku Stick and Insignia TV. Tried to cast to my Roku but you have to be online and same network. Easily mirror phone to My Insignia. Smart TV is not so smart. It just wants to monitor everything.
So now about the Roku Soundbar. Let me know if it locks you out or wants you to be online in order to use it. How will this take us hostage?

@@madboyreadynow28 exactly lol. i couldn't understand enough of that to rebut it. but yes, amazingly, product that specifically is sold to stream things from the internet, requires the internet. it's crazy. in the good old days there was none of this internet. we just died of smallpox at 26.
