    Cool video, I have a similar setup but used the speakers in the rear as surround plus added the Roku subwoofer, it’s amazing

    I went with the Streambar Pro, wireless sub and 2 wireless speakers. I really like this setup in my den. I was thinking about getting a second Streambar Pro and wireless sub for my bedroom.

    I have a Streambar and like the sound quality. But it has one very annoying tic: The sound automatically mutes when I go from one channel to another; or from the Roku home page to another source, like my blu ray player or broadcast TV. Does anyone know how to stop it from doing this? P.S. Writing this in Apr. '24. I was finally able to get through to someone at Roku who suggested replacing the HDMI cable with a different one; something that never occurred to me. Well, it basically worked. Yay!

    I must say Yep Roku is becoming better and better.
    One thing I noticed about Roku is the Streaming is far better than my so called smart LG T.V with WEB OS - I'm also upgrading my player from the streaming stick to the Roku Ultra which has better specs

    how do I run my 4k player deck through this sound system and have it on the tv?

    Hi Blake, I noticed you have a streaming device hook up in the beginning of the video. Do you have to disconnect it before setup the streambar? Thanks in advance!!!

  • @matthewrobinson4323

    Did you hook up the speakers as front or rear speakers? The reason I ask is when I set up my speakers as front speakers, the Streambar went silent. I then set up the speakers as rear speakers, and the sound quality improved, but I still ave to set the volume higher than I would prefer. I'm somewhat hearing-impaired. I'm thinking of adding a Roku Bass or a second set of speakers, or possibly both in order to increase the volume output. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    I bought it a few weeks ago, but when I connect my phone to it and play music 🎶 it is just quiet. But when connected to my LG TV via HDMI the sound is there.

    I had to enable ARC on my TV for it to work but your TV looks a bit dated your probably right that it doesn't support it

    Any idea if you can add external Bluetooth speakers that are *not* Roku brand?

    I also got a Roku setup with the Stream Bar Pro, the surround speakers to the rear and the sub. Really like the performance. My really big complaint though that I thought going to the Roku system over the built in speakers is the clarity of the dialog. The Roku did not help even though it has a setting for that. From doing an online search I found many have the same complaint regardless of the audio setup. Seems the problem comes from the content provided now days. I have no problem understanding the dialog on older movies, TV shows, talk programs etc. However recent decade movies and network TV shows sound like the people are talking through a pillow. Has technology gone backwards. Some say it is the down mix from 7.1 to lower arrangements or other excuses but why can I understand the dialog on Cops which is filmed live in the field better than a controlled movie or TV shoot? Any suggestions?

    • @BlakeCalhoun

      I don’t think that would work as the Roku overrides other audio outputs.

      Haven’t encountered that issue. If you’ve tried the WiFi reconnect and it’s still not working, I’d probably contact Roku.

    Thanks for the review...I mean overview. 😁 I've been thinking about this, and like you, my Roku started doing the same last year (re downloading apps). So I went with the Chromecast with Google TV system instead. What's your thinking when time comes to upgrading the this Roku again? Do you think you'll just have to replace the streambar? Or does the streambar have another HDMI input to add another streaming device? I hate to have to replace the whole system every two years or so. Speakers should last, right (okay, I understand they are wireless and may need more updates that will eventually not be supported, but...just curious what you think)? Anyway, thanks!

    • @BlakeCalhoun
      @BlakeCalhoun ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It has just the one HDMI, so eventually I guess it would need to be replaced… But I’m not super worried about that because I think it will last quite a while and being that it was affordable at under $100 not a huge investment. I really like it and can’t say enough about the quality versus how much you’re spending. I have a very expensive “65 4K home theater in our main living room that costs thousands of dollars (it’s an Onkyo 5.1 surround) and this sound is surprisingly comparable. It’s also great because it’s so simple and has the Roku built-in. So yeah, I’d say it’s worth a look. Thanks for watching!
