- Today in this video I am going to reuse a dead printing press motor as generator rated at 24 volts DC made in Japan.
The brand name is Tokushu Denso and its a Servo Motor. The maximum voltage generated by me was 30 volts DC and the maximum current I could produce was 15.5 Amps so obviously its maximum current generation capability would be as high as up to 30 amps making its maximum power of up to 900 watts.
It's a permanent magnet high RPM DC motor.

The motor is beautiful inside.
The power steering motor for newer US vehicles has alot of torque. I used my surplus motor as a lathe motor with a car battery supplying the energy.

This can be used in electric cycle as motor?
I have a similar motor. Mine says 3500 rpm. I am thinking I will attach it to a drill transfer pump for moving water. Maybe it would work to attach to a windmill for generating electricity!

Anytime you use a dc motor for a generator, you can only get 1/3 of the rated voltage as output......ive done this with electric wheel chair motors rated at 24v 25a....they only output 8-9 v dc

While using a lathe to customize your sockets is actually pretty cool, you probably could have used a nut driver and not compromised the strength of your socket walls. If they're cheap sockets, who cares but nut drivers are handy to have around.

This is not actually an servo motor, but it can be used as one because it has an encoder ring.
Put it into a gear and make a gravity generator. Store power into super capacitor and make light with led torch

I'm clear seeing that this an ordinary brush dc motor.
Well, it IS a standard DC motor. But. Do you see the bent up slotted ring on the output shaft? That is what's left of an optical encoder used to provide positional/rpm feedback by counting pulses of light shining through the slots. That's what makes it a servo. Sort of.

Its current is not 30 A, it's about 3 amp
I am not an electrical engineer, but out of interest used a 1000w 48v pmdc motor as DC generator connected to a 35cc petrol motor with pulleys and belt. It runs and shows volts 48 ro 60v, but when i connect any load like a bulb or another car window dc motor to output terminals it doesn't run the load and instead pmdc motor pulls and slows down the petrol motor. Any idea what my mistake is and how to fix it. Thank you in advance.
Its mean your petrol engine power can't handle the generator load

Yes they are, or we wouldn't see readings. It's just a way to hold the springs. I wanted to know too, lol
