Persephone has been with me since I was about 5 due to family trauma, and literally, I go back through what I remember of my childhood and my teenage years to find symbols of her everywhere. I became obsessed with a pomegranate mango body spray my friend got me because "it reminded them of me" and I had some custom ordered when it was no longer in the catalogue. A bat got into my really old motorhome and woke up & scared the hell out of my younger brother, aunt, and grandmother and I slept through it soundly with a really nice dream (which I deal with chronic nightmares so yeah.) The funniest thing was when I realized she'd been with me since 5, I asked out loud for a confirmation and the loudest "DUH" energy filled the space I was in. I started laughing because it was like she said "THANK YOU FOR FIGURING IT OUT AFTER ALMOST 2 DECADES GOOD JOB!" I'm so blessed she's been so patient with me... I'm really oblivious to a lot.
Now I"m looking into Hekate because of signs she's with me and several people doing readings saying hey it's likely this deity, so this video came right when I needed it. Thank you!

I do have one question for you Nike, I tried to do a lot of research on a goddess but she is so obscure, what do I do for worship or anything? Literally all of the info I can find was her name and she is associated with bears in Celtic mythology. I feel so drawn to her.

Freya sent me spiders. And what was so special about it, was that for the first time in my life, I wasn't afraid of spiders. I asked for a sign and she sent me spiders. That's funny. I remember asking my husband: "wait, that was the third spider today, wasn't it? Let me check something." Yeah, spiders are on her list. 📃😂

Amphitrite recently reached out to me and you would think as the Queen of the ocean and all sea deities that research on her would be abundant, but NOPE! I've found nothing in comparison to other deities from the Greek pantheon, like her husband Posidon, for example. But, I have found some information thankfully. The struggle is real though, any time I look online for jewelry, art, candles, etc, specific to her I find 1 item for every 50 that's dedicated to her, the rest are all Aphrodite. (We love Aphrodite no hate on her )

im still working out how i feel about deities bc idk if i believe in any higher powers, but i learned about imbolc and it was the first time celebrating this type of holiday and i found it inspiring the way people talked about brigid, so im thinking that maybe i could try learning more about this topic now
lol half hour later i just remembered that in middle school german class like a decade ago we had to pick a name and i chose brigitte(i think that was the spelling at least lol)

I like the way you do...research, lol...I an barley sleep these days..I'll be honest, what if I told you that I'm pretty sure I'm Horas...and some crazy ass stuff has been happening to me for the last 6 months...and its big,.. too big....I could really use some help if there is anyone real or decent left in this world besides me and jeanie...shes my star counterpart, my queen....I have found and been given unbelievable gifts lately...most IMPRESS is what as far as I can tell a spearhead that of witch no one has ever seen before...a freaking bald eagle dropped it like 50yds from me couple weeks ago...the coolest are the effigy stones that are not only everywhere, but are changing in real time with my journey to what I'm pretty sure is the oldest pyramid not known to anyone...I can see stuff in Rock's and Wood....

So, Im sure this will be a controversial comment, even here, but... When I came across Oshun and started researching her back story and her mythology and her symbolism, that was the exactly the feeling I had like "oh! This makes so much sense, like shes been part of my life already". So I mentioned it in a witchy facebook I'm in, and basically got the "closed practice, you're not african, you have to pay for that" door slammed in my face. Which was very discouraging. Because I dont except that idea. I believe in us all being part of a unified universal whole, from the same place, recycled and reincarnated a thousand or more times. So why not?
Deities and spirits need to be understood in their cultural context, and there's only so much you can learn about a closed practice from the outside. My general rule is, if you're looking to learn about figures and practices from closed traditions, you need to seek out elders of that tradition to learn from. Proper study of the history of said practice would show you why this would be an important aspect, regardless of your background.
@@WarriorWitchNike Very well put. I believe in reincarnation so the way I figure, any soul could have lived life on a different continent, as a different race in the past, and so certain relationships could be tied to your soul, even ones with deities. Obviously it is important to approach cultural things like this with respect and proper research, and not just take from it without proper intention and effort. But for people to separate themselves into groups and vehemently turn away every "outsider" immediately just seems very limited in view to me. "We are here to awaken from our illusion of separateness". And I also feel that if you are able to make contact with a deity through meditation etc, that the deity should have higher say on that than humans. Like I said tho, with proper respect and effort, nothing comes easily or for free.
