So Aerith will come back as a ghost in the third game and they created this multiverse thing to bring her back somehow. Gotcha.
I don't know why the people are so confused with that explanation, I mean... It was easy for me to guess that aerith it's now like a force ghost, united with the lifestream. For someone who's a star wars fan like me I clearly understood what happened here in the ending XD.
Why are people confused with the ending? I understand the confusion from new players but what is it that old players can't understand? In the og Cloud's heart completely broke when Aerith died and he became an even bigger Sephiroth puppet until he regained his memories with Tifa's help. So this time Aerith creates a manifestation of herself from the lifestream to reassure and comfort Cloud so he won't have a breakdown. I think it's really beautiful and shows just how much she loves him. I can't wait for the next game!
Well there are many questions. Did aerith die? Is cloud and aerith in limbo with multiple timelines? Recall that Tifa actually may have seen multiple versions pop up before her. Waiting the whispers were stopped then why are they technically here? What happened in Zach’s world? Did we actually fight sephiroth again? Or was it an illusion? How can they go from world to world? What is transporting Zach? Did aerith know of all worlds that “existed?” And yes it was always gonna be hard to top of the OG scene. I get why it had infuriated ppl.
aerith weird when mention "about liking and liking" is refer to marlene and zack conversation, she knew that. she love cloud like marlene say, but she want zack alive. because "you were not there" as mention" zack is dead state from marlene, so she push cloud out from timeline and sephiroth arive at cruch. because zack will dead if cloud stay at crouch/timeline.
@@bradhorowitz2765AC aerith was in comunication to remake aerith untill the end. that is why she knew.....dream aerith was not the same aerith as the one he met.

Awful is a word
it's not awful. everything is by design. the key theme with these two games has been that nothing is as it seems.We are not seeing the whole picture yet. so what people are seeing as messy is really just what they want us to see. It was like that with the first part. no surprise it's the same with the second...

I believe they changed the death scene to censor her being stabbed. It would be too graphic unlike the 97 version that were only big polygons.
Not saying people can't hate the new ending, but I think it's important to remember that the Remake trilogy was always gonna change stuff and in a strange way is a sequel to OG FF7 so the ending is a result of that. I admit, I'm into what the Remake trilogy is trying to do here, but I can understand not liking it either.

@@bradhorowitz2765Personally, I believe Cloud is stuck in some kind of Limbo between realities. As in he reunites with all other dimensions. Hence his switched perceptions and alterations in personality. All of these Clouds converge, it's what Jenova does after all, and Cloud's blood is infused with it. Since Sephiroth is unified with Jenova, he is in Cloud too, that's why he can follow him everywhere.
Sephiroth attained the ability to breach the fabric of one reality, and so is Cloud because of the aforementioned connection. Aerith due to her innate ability to connect to the lifestream can do this too, although it is not as astute as Sephiroth's. She is still a Cetra newbie after all.
Aerith is neither dead nor alive if you watch it from the perspective of being outside of the entire cycle. In some worlds, she is killed by Sephiroth, in others she is saved by Cloud. What matters the most is that Cloud understands this too. Tifa cannot forgive Cloud for not being in grief, but he, through Spehiroth can see other branches of time, and even speak to them. As shown in the ending cutscene. In the end, as Sephiroth explained, at the root of everything is the Planet and the lifestream. Everything branches off that single source.
This is my understanding of what happened in Remake and then Rebirth.

The aerith scene was filled with so much bullcrap, Ala the "NOOOOOOOOO" from Darth Vader now added in Return of the Jedi. Just let the scene play out. So much crap added to ruin the moment. Sucks.
