A good start to the road trip. This series is crucial for the Mets. I'm hopeful about the series, but we need to keep winning and not be concerned about the other teams.
The whole road trip is crucial. At minimum they need a split with SD, and series wins (2 of 3) against Arizona and Chicago.

I love how at the end they were celebrating with Brazoban… to show him look, we got you man we need you for this run step it up. We got you, brother. I’m glad the manager didn’t take him out.
I feel bad for Brazo. He’s had a rough go where he’s been traded to a team to help them make a push and he has not been good and he knows that. But we as fans need to be behind him cuz we need as many quality arms as we can get. 🤷🏼♂️
Severino had some sharp movement on his stuff today, especially his sinker and slider

Agreed. You can actually even argue that his stuff was too good to the point where it caused him to miss off the plate too much. This could have led to all the walks he surrendered. Not 100% sure that was the cause just my theory.

Hopefully they send Brazoban down to Triple-A when Nunez is avtivated tomorrow. He still has minor league options, i think. If not him then likely Ottavino. I cant think of anyone else unless someone is hurt on the staff.
Brazoban is good for mop up roles like tonight, either with a big lead or trailing big. The Mets should never bring him in for relief in a close game.
Does Brazoban have options? Ottavino clearly does not.
He has not looked good at all and him looking into the dugout shows he's having some confidence issues. Maybe a stint in the minors could help regain his stuff and some confidence because clearly he just doesn't have it at the moment.

Brazoban has been horrible from the get go. The only time the Mets should bring him in is for mop up roles. A win is a win. LETS GO METS!!! Tie-breaker over the Padres.

I guess Carlos felt his guys needed to rest after that cross country trip, so it was Brazoban's to lose. He was serving it up there and that final out could easily have been another hit.

Mets will get Nuñez back today which probably means Ottavino will be sent down or released. Mets right now only have one lefty reliever (Danny Young) so I expect them to bring in another lefty (prob Adam Young cuz who else is there) which means that either Stanek or Brazoban will be cut
