    Eddie has been a starting in the NFL ever since he left bama. He wasn’t guaranteed anything when he got to bama.

    You have to be tough as a good coach. I remember back in the early 90's my two boys played baseball and everybody was hating on this coach. He would scream at these young boys and I remember I was ready to knock him out but I held back but then about 8 years later that team was 1 every year. 8 moved and don't know what he did after that. Anyway it showed me you have to be tough on players to get the best out of them.

    Now I understand why Saban would not be a good fit as a coach for the NFL. Those rich/spoiled players wouldn't have any of his speech and saban couldn't do anything to discipline them.

    • @aeromedical6750
      @aeromedical6750 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Exactly. Coaching in the NFL is a completely different skill set. At the college level, the HC is in complete control. If you don’t buy into his process, you’ll find your ass on the bench, or playing for someone else. You can’t do that in the NFL where the players or the stars. You try sitting your star WR out for a game in the NFL because he didn’t make a meeting and the owner will tell you differently. The players see themselves as more important than the HC. Hence why Saban came back to the college game where his style is a best fit.

      Yes coaching NFL is different. But WINNING comes from the same place regardless of what level you’re talking about. Saban’s NFL teams sucked because the players didn’t buy-in. They couldn’t handle his approach. It didn’t cost Saban anything. He’s still the best coach in the country. It cost those NFL players some losing seasons. In a game were your time to be successful is short for most players.

      Go ask Belichik if he has discipline issues...Got 6 chips....He is the one that groomed Saban. You can do it in the NFL if you set a standard and you winning.

      @@chancecooper4006 Not to down play BB, but he had Tom Brady bought in. Saban tried to do the same thing with Drew Brees but he ended up with the Saints. After that he wanted to leave Miami

    Nick Saban's mantra that is known as "the process' is really an offshoot from Coach John Wooden's philosophy (see Coach Wooden's pyramid of success)

      He is perfect example of sticking with it. Once he hot processed he got great. No one but Eddie is happier than Saban to see him succeed. Can you imagine the pride of seeing eddie whipped confused frustrated back then and seeing him now? This is why Saban loves his job, not money or fame. He knows he is the builder of legends. What a feeling that must be.

    • @RT22-pb2pp

      It made him tough and made him a great player. Give nick some raw talent he will build a legend,look at eddie and countless others. 100 plus yrs of bama football, in 14 yrs he has one third of all our titles and the first 3 heisman winners all in those 14 yrs. Damn brother you define the phrase G.O.A.T.

    Being the best is not easy, you want easy go to Tennessee. You want to be the best come to bama. 6 titles tell me they are going it right. This is why Saban is the best, and bama under him is the best. Not perfect but closer than any other. Some teams hit a great yr and win title, nick is in it or close for 12 yrs now
