Reuse the pushnut by re-bending the little tabs. Place the pushnut on a hard flat surface and tap the tabs a few times with a hammer. This flattens them back to near their original position. To re-install, use a 5/8" socket as a "driver", and tap them back onto the axle shaft with a hammer. Don't make them too tight against the wheel. Re install little red hubcap.
If you really wanted to repair the wheels I found one on Little Tikes, and I put it in my playlist as: repairing children's wagon wheels. It has the same Wheels as the Radio Flyer 2700Z Pathfinder Wagon.
This is not applicable on the radio flyer push tricycle because the wheels are plastic. This actually pushed the washer so tightly to the axle the bike isn't even usable.
You just saved my life! haha. My husband has been wanting a wagon for our 15 month twin boys for a while, we splurged yesterday and i got overconfident with construction...missed the red plugs that should go between when and wagon and the thing was a wobbly mess! now i can have it fixed before they wake up from their nap ;)
Thank you. I've seen a lot of videos on removing push nuts. This one is easy, simple and I was able to reuse the push nuts. I just did this on my dolly, and it took just a few minutes to get both off, and then I bent them back with a ball pein hammer.
On the metal washer are 6 short tabs or teeth. If you hit them at their base they will bend away (loose their bite) from the axle and come off. I did this to my plastic wheels which I wanted to reuse.
Robert Clark Yea, your probably right. I just got lucky and it's holding perfectly. I was just careful not to hammer all the way flat as I didn't want to "weaken" the metal.

No kidding, terrible sound, not zoomed in, pretty half assed. Radioflyer makes it pretty hard to find that parts you need anyway. they probably just want you to buy a new one.
Thank god for this video with no zoom ins and an interior camera microphone. Guess Radio Flyers aren’t expensive enough.

Do you have a video about how to put the new hub cap on?

Use a hammer claw to pull up on the cap after you hammer in the tabs. The hammer claw gives extra leverage.
no zoom in? no idea what she did!
this did not work yoski …. 😢 had to get the grinder out
Thank you so much for the quick but concise video!! I was breaking a sweat earlier. :)
Push nut broke in the process. Any tips how to get a replacement?
the best example I've seen, thanks so much!
Works like a champ. Replaced the caps with e-clips
Did you cut a groove for the clip to sit in?
Can you clarify "base of the tab" with a closeup shot please?
That's what I was thinking. Doesn't help if I don't know where to hit
Perfect thank you. I got onenof these all rusted toppically that I wanted to fix up.
Do you have a video for replacing a tire on your All Terrain Wagon(model 29)?
Can you put the same cap you took off back on?
Thank you I needed to replace a wheel
Easy way to break these new plastic wheels. Order more before u destroy the old ones in frustration trying to remove them!

You’re the MVP. Thank you for explaining this in words, it made the most sense.
for used wagons models its not as easy as it sounds in this youtube demo I had to break them until they comeoff
Same here and they are still not off. I am taking the wagon to lawn mower repair shop to see if they can get the things off, will send an update.
It didn’t work
My wagon is bout forty years old and the caps are frozen
to recap pun?
I think the new Radio Flyer logo should be printed in old English.
No Robert, but they're only $1 each for new ones.
I cant find them for less than 15.00 for 4 . where do you buy them for a dollar??
Basically just smash it off 😂
Can the capnut be reused?
Yes you can reuse. you just hammer them flat before reinstalling.
+Greg Simpson Yes and no. They do not grip as well once removed and reinstalled. Buy new cap nuts at any hardware store.

Cant see a thing as to what she is doing ? Better Camera angle and Zoom might help... It gave some idea but it still is pretty much useless

Modern marvel of outdated engineering. Get better and more practical.
terrible design
Need close up. Otherwise useless
Thanks for ruining my kids trike because instead of instructions you get pictures with no explanation.
Horrible video.
