  • A New Kind of Rotary Attachment - The Rotary 2 Pro from xTool. XTool sent me out their latest and greatest rotary attachment for the xTool D1 (it is universal for diode lasers). This thing is a beast. It engraves large objects, heavy objects, glasses with stems, mugs with handles. And the list goes on.

    First off thanks for making xTool videos, that have helped a lot in getting started. I figured out engraving and cuts, but need to work on placing objects in the right place. But with the grid that is coming along.
    What I don't understand is the rotary tool, the manual for the attachment isn't as easy to understand as the D1. Your video helped quite a bit. But can you explain what Enduramark is and how it helps with engraving? Is it a nice to have or a must-have and what do the various colors do? TIA

    • @BuildDadBuild
      @BuildDadBuild  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't say Enduramark is a "must have". However it will make much darker markings on stainless steel and you can actually etch in black on glass and ceramic. It's pricey, but a little goes a long way. And to me it pays for itself in ease of application and removal.
      If I were going to be selling items, I'd probably invest in some Enduramark. In my opinion you just get a better finished product.
      Cheers
      PS. Probably going to be doing a deeper dive into the RA2 Pro. They hadn't updated the software at the time of this video.

    Hello, I'm having problems with mine, i'm trying to just do a small test on a tumbler using a 30x30mm star , what do you put in the diameter and circumference setting in laserbox basic using the Jaw Chuck? it just spins all over the place and doesn't start where I want it to... Thanks!

    • @BuildDadBuild

      @@BuildDadBuild Yeah in the latest update to Laserbox basic you pick if you are using rollers or jaws, if you pick Jaws it ask for the diameter and circumference. I found out I was putting in the wrong numbers as my mm to inches math was wrong. Working find now, Thanks!

    • @BuildDadBuild

      Make sure the cups are weighted and you can add rubber bands for extra traction.

      @@BuildDadBuild thanks so much! I’ll definitely try that :) Do you have any recommendations for weights?
      I ended up putting my glass on the chuck in a fit of rage and that seemed to work pretty well but the rollers would definitely be nice for some of the heavier cups.

    Hi! Just got an XTool myself … do you use enduramark on all tumblers or only for stainless steel ones and glass?
    I guess trying to figure out when do we have to or should use enduramark before I spend money on them. If you can create a video on materials, tips and uses too that would be great! Thanks in advance!!

    • @BuildDadBuild
      @BuildDadBuild  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Enduramark for metal on stainless. Enduramark for glass and ceramic on glass.
      If the tumbler is coated you don't need to use a transfer agent or marking spray.
