i was just a kid about 11 when i first heard this... My dad hated it... Coz i blast it on his car radio... He said boy.. U want play music that loud get ur own radio.. And i did.. He had to then listen to me blasting the beatles.. DC5.. Beach boys and doors.. In my room.. Lol... But this song never gets old... I sing it now whenever we sing karaoke..

My last year at boarding school, remember it well as a pub up the road at Whipps Cross was called "The Rising Sun", It has to be my all-time favourite of that era. Of course, I still have an original 45!

Like to start with the Animals has been my Favorite Band from the first time hearing them no pun intended ''When I was Young'', Sky Pilot, Don't Li Be Misunderstood and my all time Favorite ''House of the Rising Sun''.I use to get the broom and play like it was a Guitar play to the songs. I Joined the Army got out in the late 80's found out I had PTSD doctor said a Hobby would help me and for it to help make Hobby something that You like and stay with it. I like music and interested in guitars so I bought an Electric Guitar Charvel, Line 6 Amp, Accessories needed, a Chord Book.learned the basic chords, started teaching myself to play all early 60-70's songs.making good prodgress.I never took lessons or read music all by ear .And the one song I have the most Fun playing is the ''House of The Rising Sun'' still to this day.Every time i play my guitar to practice its included. I've taught myself how to play Leads and this is the first song used for that. I've found so many ways of playing leads to this song its amazing. This song means a lot to me its helped my PTSD and improve on my guitar Skills.Thanks to the Animals always my #1 band. Got to meet Eric Burden in person at concert in Dallas TX his solo carreer Sun Secrets album good man.
