Daihatsu designed, engineered and built the vehicle as early as 1980. At the time Daihatsu was 1/3 owned by Toyota and the Blizzard was produced only for the japanese domestic market. Worldwide and for export, Daihatsu built them and named them as Rocky, Fourtrack, Taft and Rugger with diesel engines and the petrol ones with Toyota 3y engines. One of the best 4x4's ever built: simple built, tough and RELIABLE! Nice video 👌

That car was sold as Daihatsu Feroza en Costa Rica, Central America. Engine was 2.0L diesel. Kind of nice, about the size of a 1st Gen Rav4

regarding the engine usually the daihatsus use the toyota block only the head is made by daihatsu itself other then that the body shell is daihatsu the rest of the underpendings i assume they are toyota, they are interchangeble from the landcruisers...

Great videos Derek.... I've long thought about bringing a Turbo Diesel Hilux quad cab over to Canada...& now it seems that might really work out for me. I would consider a 15-ish yo Turbo Diesel quad cab sunroof full load to replace my '02 SuperCharged Tacoma....th-cam.com/video/oYSU6iMz1SQ/w-d-xo.html
