+kemi7689 I used 5mm glass but unfortunately the glass doubles the hologram, you don't get a crisp image. Less than 5mm I was told the glass would be too fragile.

You don't actually need a cd case to do this, I made one with an old Tupperware container. Any kind of thick plastic will work.
I used a thin (about as thick as a sheet of paper) plastic sheet, and it worked like a charm! Really any clear plastic will do.

I don't think the actual measurements matter - isosceles would work but equilateral triangle is best like in this video - so go for 60 degrees
