You can actually make a smaller easier version! Here’s how!
    1) Go to the store and buy your favorite snack (must have a plastic container with flat surface)
    2) Eat the snack
    3) Go online and search “Pyramid 3D Hologram Template”
    4) Print it out how big you would like (it looks big but it’s pretty small so make sure to do a little bigger just in case)
    5) Get your plastic (your snack container) and trace the shape
    6) Fold the lines inside and tape the open side (form it like a pyramid
Hope that was helpful reader c: This works I made one today after school, (nice vid btw)
    Tips
    •Use permanent marker to trace
•Tape down the paper you printed to a table, and tape down your plastic to the paper so it won’t move
•If you mess up while tracing, get some nail polish remover and scrub it, wash it off with some water too

You could improve the quality of the images by reducing the thickness of the lens, i.e with thinner glass plates or just a thin clear plastic sheet

Hamstey 1 Really? You mean dumber than the 70"- 100" Flat 4K Ultra TVs people mount in their living rooms 5 feet from their couches that take up an entire living room wall? What about 25 years ago when people purchased HUGE projection TVs that took up entire living room walls but you could only watch if the lighting was just right or the picture would be faded and disappear.

@@A_man213 while i get the sentiment, most people cant walk on walls, sit on walls, put other furniture on walls, etc. So if an entire wall is taken up amd they cant hang a picture there its in no way comparable to an extra dining room table sized object taking up half the area of the room. It's cool, and im sure some people would indeed pay the probably stupid high price a company would charge for it, but theyre no way comparable

you can still get the 3 d effect with just one clear pane hanging off a wall at a 45 degree angle ,why would you want a pyramid unless youd rather walk around your tv while watching instead of sitting in your recliner.

The images appear to be the same size reguardless, you'd pretty much have to project through a tube to enlarge it. You really have to get a good angle on it to enjoy it. It's fun and works with hard transparent folder plastic pretty decently.

I found adding a lid over the top really adds to the glow affect to. I might get a little more fancy with my next design.

HOW TO MAKE THE SHAPE - Dimensions for a small smart phone version of the pyramid is as follows - each of the 4 sides is measured 1CM (the base) x 3.5 CM (the side length) x 6CM (the top length) you can make it out of a clear plastic CD casing and works very well. GREAT project for impressing people/kids that are seeing the projection for the first time!

indeed interesting for a firsttime look.... meant in the most positive way ;-) here just a little side info.... just search for the term "peppers ghost" in your preferred search engine.... the trick shown here is indeed a nice homegrown re incarnation of that.... and guess what... i bet that a whole bunch of nowadays seen, so called "holograms" on public stages are also just more modern executed versions of the good ole peppers ghost.... in perfection maybe even involving thin films in 3 point holdings..... tracked like cams in modern football games.... the imagery then projected with regular laser video beamers.... everything done in the right angle (beams pointing away from viewers, because if not, that would reveal the trick...) and voila ... just by simple mirroring ... the holo illusion well done.... i like these little physics plays.... smiles thumbs up !!!

Step one: Take a video with a sigle colourfull subject on a black background.
Step two: Put any transparent sheet (glass, acrylic, poly carbonate, etc) in 45* angle over a screen (LCD, computer, Iphone, old tv).
Dim the light in the room, and enjoy.

The moon is a cold light holographic projector. It's cold light projection made physical with other lights like the heat projector the sun and vibrational frequencies. The cold light tushing towards the heat projection is what causes tides to happen. You can view the different layers of the fractaled holographic projection when looking at nature by using the same vision needed for stereograms/ stereoscopic illusions. That ability of vision is not only for novelty

For all those wondering what the big deal is with the (misleading) 'Hologram' claim, I'll do my best to explain. Very few people today genuinely know what a 'real' hologram yet most people have one, despite no longer being aware it is a genuine hologram. If you have a credit/debit card, chances are, it has a reflection hologram in one corner. Under a point light source (not diffuse, such as a strip light or an overcast day), it will look a little strange, appear to have depth and probably change, possibly with different images depending what angle it is viewed. Since it is rather tiny, most will not appreciate what is going on, let alone that it is a genuine hologram. You may also find them attached to the packaging of branded products such as Sony lithium batteries, cameras and other tech. Since they are pretty much impossible to copy (not least because most don't know what they are) , they allow you to verify what is genuine and what is fake. Beyond art and security, holography has many more applications including cutting edge optical technologies such as holographic waveguides. Now I promised I'd explain why the misuse of the terms hologram, holographic and holography is such an issue and the problem is this. If you specialise in holography, making holograms and the design and production of holographic tools and optical components, just how are you supposed to sell your products when not only do people no longer know what a hologram is, they think it simply means 3D and bares no relation to what the terms really mean and how it relates to what you do? The misuse of these terms is highly damaging to anyone who specialises in the field and with the real meaning of the terms in question being so diluted with fake claims, trying to search for anything to do with holography is becoming impossible when misleading crap like this is hiding what you are really trying to look for. This in turn means the businesses who actually have what your are looking for are becoming pretty much impossible to find among the ever expanding ocean of 'fake' holographic products and silly videos like this. With regards to holography as an art form, those who still make and sell them, you could probably fit in our family tent. In the UK, to the best of my knowledge, Iñaki Beguiristain - www.displayhologram.co.uk/ is one of the few professional holographers who is still in business. I wish I could explain why these things are so special, let alone so important but until you've seen a decent hologram that is at least A5 or larger, most will never understand what the big deal is. If you think a hologram is an image that can be projected into thin air, then you really don't know what a hologram is. A hologram is like a photographic print but it looks very strange because it appears to have 'real' depth (and it has), unlike your 3DTV or 3D in the cinema which both in comparison and reality, is nothing more than an illusion. There is one thing that might convince you of the difference between the fakes and a real hologram is the fact that if you took for example, a large A4 hologram and cut off a small corner, you'd still be able to see the entire contents of the original, albeit, from a rather limited perspective. Try doing that with a 2D print ;-) Another interesting detail is the fact that a hologram of a magnifying glass will actually magnify an object in the image behind it and a mirror would reflect a hidden object that would otherwise be out of view. Unlike a photo, a 'Hologram' will show an infinite number of perspectives depending on the angle and distance you view it from. It is also possible to manufacture paper thin optics such as lenses due to the properties mentioned earlier. Unless people stop posting false stuff like this TH-cam clip here, genuine holography will go the way of the Dodo along withe the science and technology that currently drives much of the tech we have today. Btw, the video shown here isn't even 3D. It is simply an application of an age old theatrical illusion called 'Peppers Ghost' yet numerous businesses have opened up, claiming this as the latest in Holographic technology, simply on the basis it is supposed to 'look' 3D and as we know, most people (wrongly) think holographic is a fancy word for 3D but it isn't. Please educate yourselves and stop misusing these terms, it really is very damaging!

Its not a hologram but Pepper's ghost, an old Victorian theatrical illusion done with an unbacked mirror at approx. 45 degrees. By the way the music is truly horrible. Who wrote it?

    This isn't a hologram.
It's a "Pepper's Ghost" effect that can be viewed by 4 separate angles instead of only 1.

Is it possible to create a hologram not contained in the glass and suspended in mid air. Possibly even magnified several times?

We literally went from typewriters to having a full color touch screen storage beast computer in our pockets in 60 years. It will hardly be ‘eons’ before something as simple as holograms are common. More like a decade at most

I don't get it .... the image is identical on all 4 sides ... you don't see it in 3d like front, side, back side, front ... you see front (or back or side) only x 4 sides ... and why does it have to be a trapezoid why wouldn't any four sided reflective surface work as long as it caught the reflection just curious.
