I bought the single 3lb Leegol from Amazon on sale for around $50 (then found out that Harbor Freight makes a bigger one for the same price lol) and it seems to be an OK unit. The motor in the the 3lb tumblers seems to be smaller but, other than that they are identical. I keep the plastic bushings clean and oiled and I am going to put a shower door roller on the front instead of the little piece of black plastic. There are always gonna be QC issues with China made stuff and it can be hit or miss but, you are absolutely correct I think about the Leegol and Harbor Freight tumblers being identical (other than the paint color). All of the replacement parts sold for these are interchangeable with either brand so, repairs shouldn't be an issue. I ordered a 5 pack of the o-ring type belts when I bought the tumbler but so far the belt that came on it is plugging along.
HF is still selling the Chicago Electric brand of this design with an improvement on the bushings. The plastic bushings are now brass. Hopefully an oil impregnated brass but even if standard brass it is a great improvement over plastic.
Very helpful, thank you! I was about to buy the Leegol.. Could you tell me what belts you bought for the Harbor Freight, please? Also, is the motor in these both the same too? Thank you! 👍👍
I got the non-pro Leegol, and it is indistinguishable from the harbor freight model. Regarding the belt, the manual tells you to adjust the belt before the first run, which seems like a cop out, but following the instructions seems to fix most of the issues.
I just bought another name brand one and wish I'd just went with my gut and went to good ole Harbor Freight! Everything else I've gotten there (limb saw, air compressor, winch, and ratchet winch, etc) have held up great! Just as well as anything in the mid to the lower range at Lowe's, Home Depot or Walmart. (I can't afford the fancy ones lol). Thanks for the video, I think I'm gonna send back the fancy one and get the one I wanted in the first place.😊
I have a lot of Jewelers tools, and Vevor tools are identical to other much more Expensive brands. Now…having said THAT….I also have 4 pair of Vise Grips, made by 4 different companies….theyre virtually identical….one brand might be slightly more polished, but otherwise identical tools….so i have to surmise that all these tool brands have licensing agreements with multiple manufacturers. Its the same with most patents, these days….you can buy an Nvidia Graphics card, made by your choice of half a dozen manufactures . Very informative video. Thank you for posting 🙏
You can go on Amazon and search (can't post links here) the exact product name as listed on Amazon is "Chicago Electric Harbor Freight Rock Tumbler Replacement Drive Belt 10 Pack"
Got the 6 pound Leegol. About to return it, the motor is loud as fuck. Gets dangerously hot. Everything seizes up constantly. It’s mad lame. Any suggestions for the one I should get?
Harbor freight one works good and is hard to beat the prices. If you want one that just works forever (pass down to the grandkid like) then Lortone is the king of the hill but a bit pricier. So, just want to play around and not make a business out of it then Harbor Freight, want to get serious about it Lortone.
This is very typical of china's manufacturing industry. They will make unis for several companies in the same factory and at several quality levels some for the premium exports, premium domestic and the discount markets. Its more efficient and only requires a single tooling outfit. Much different from the sometimes multiple competing factories in the US and other western countries.
I was just about to buy this Leegol and looked for a review on TH-cam and here I am. Thank you! Ill just got to Harbor Freight and buy it there.
How's the Harbor Freight tumbler working out? I need to upgrade to a larger tumbler.
@@jarrodanderson2124 Do alright. I replaced the plastic with bearings they sell for $20.00 on ebay and they have been doing great.
I have two Harbor Freight rock tumblers and I have a box fan right next to the tumblers that keeps the motors cool as a cucumber!
I heard that Harbor Freight isn't going to be making anymore tumblers! Thanks for sharing!

4" o rings work good for replacement belts.

Just search for them on Amazon, that's how I found them.
Owned my Harbor Freight Tumbler for years. Never had to change a belt. Not sure of your issues.
