By chance I ended up with a 2001 Bob Bondurant Race School Mustang GT back in 2010. Where did this car end up? It may surprise you! I wish I would have kept it...
Todd, when I lived in Regina I had a dream that I found Sundance and it was parked outside my condo. The dream was so realistic that I was half awake and jumped out of bed, ran to the window and looked out expecting to see her sitting in my parking spot. Nothing there dammit. On my Beaumont I had shorty lakes pipes that came out of the front fender behind the tire. My wife worked at the hospital until midnight so when she got off we used to go to Winnipeg after she got ready. I uncapped those pipes and let er roar all the way to Winnipeg (a little over the speed limit) that old 327 sure made nice music going through the valley.
Great story, thanks for sharing! Glad to hear it went to a good home. I miss my first car, a 79 notch with the inline six that my cousin gave me and my Dad and Uncle had cleaned up really well. Had to let it go to get my 89, but it's the one that got away for me.
Hey Sleazy!! That 79 obviously got you hooked!! It would be so cool to see if it's still around. Obviously such good memories of your first Foxbody!! Have a great weekend!!
Pretty cool. Yep remember the Bondurant school very well. Your car came out of Dearborn Assembly Plant - I was there at the time these were built. Plant is no longer around in favor of F-150 plant. Next gen mustangs have since come out of Flatrock assembly about 1/2 hour away. For me the one car my old ‘87 T-top LX hatch. Solid black exterior and gray interior with T5 and 16” pony wheels and a pullout cassette deck. Bought it from a guy in Windsor with 25k miles when I was in high school for $6500. Drove it back to metro Detroit with my dad. Did all the bolt ons including a Vortech A-Trim HO kit and HCI. It was an awesome car.
Hey @elementl1166, Thanks for the assembly plant update...I love little details like that! That '87 LX was a Hot car back then and definitely still is today. Thanks for watching!👍👍
That is an awesome story Todd! I think we all have those cars that we wish we had kept, but that one is truly one that got away Brother! I am not really into that particular body style, but I would have loved to have that one!
Al, that would be so cool to locate Sundance or the Beaumont if they are still around. Yeah...some dreams can play tricks on a person...I personally would love to see Sundance!!👍👍
Hey Al!! That would be so cool to see your Beaumont again...but It would especially be so cool to see Sundance cruising the streets of Yorkton again...
That was a really great story...Thank you for sharing..
Thanks for watching!!👍👍
