Definitely mixing myself a Tartan this coming weekend and will wear my Bitter Bear hoodie while I do so. Cheers! If you see this, can I ask if I were going to sub the amaro you used, I have Nonino and Capo Vecchio. Do you have thoughts on which would be best?
This is my newest favorite drink!!! My husband just made this for me. He used Johnny Double Black and Cinpatrazzo for the Amaro. This is AMAZING!! Thanks Anders!!
I tried a few variations of this (different vermouths, different amaros) basically because I didn't have any Cocchi or Ramazzotti. I tried Meletti, Averna, Fernet Branca, etc...Well I finally picked up a bottle Cocchi and Ramazotti today. The perfect combination of flavors! This will be near the top of my list moving forward!
My two favorite bartenders Steve and Anders ❤ Don’t know Drambuie liquor but completely fan of Isle of Skye (and Talisker 🥃). So I have to found it in France and taste it. Thank you so much Anders 🫶

Just wanted to say thank you for all the great content and the urge to start drinking after watching your videos! 😆 We recently went on a trip to New Orleans and spent our time going to different bars and restaurants trying signature drinks like Old Fashions and Sazerac! We love your style, attitude and history of each drink you make. Have a great day and Happy new year. Congratulations on your engagement 👍Cheers
Thanks Steve! New Orleans had a profound effect on me as a younger bartender - great city with so much history (cocktails and otherwise). Thanks for sharing your experience and being here for the vids! Cheers 🥃
I’m drinking a Tartan right now - this is one of the few cocktails that expressing both an orange peel and a lemon peel works for me (the Rolls Royce is the other). Happy Bobby Burns Day.
I was today years old when I realised that your catchphrase is on the back wall. Love the Steve shoutout! And finally, any sub suggestions for the scotch? I can’t find that particular one, and we don’t have Curiada where I live.
Sounds absolutely fantastic, as soon as it’s cocktail time here I’ll be making one to try…. Just a wee thing to note, unlike we do with a lot of ‘uie’ sounds, us Scots don’t actually say Drambooie as you would expect. For some reason we just say Drambuie, the same way everyone else does 😉……. Ok cocktail hour has been and gone, and I’m pleased to say IMO, the Tartan is a better cocktail than the Manhattan, the Rusty Nail and the Rob Roy, hands down - it was so good in fact I l made myself another one, and that’s something I reserve for the best of the best. It’s a last minute addition to our Burn’s night menu as I think it will go a treat wi haggis. Slainte Mhath Anders!
I have Steve’s book and I love it! Every recipe comes with a little bit of information about the cocktail, which a lot books sadly leave out. Also, the beginning of the book has basically everything you need to know in order to plan out a good home bar.
I will try this one since Rob Roys and Rusty Nails are up my sleeve o to speak. Perfect for a saturday night and a Anders Erickson YT episode. By the way i do have Steve the bartenders cocktailbook and it do have great content and a lot of recipes to discover.
After seeing one of your videos I went and checked out Steve the Bartender’s channel. Lots of great stuff there for sure. He mentioned the “Bartenders handshake” in one of his videos. After some research it looks like it’s usually a shot… but it mentioned other stuff like cocktails or a shot of bitters from the bottle. The bartender’s handshake could make for an interesting video.
Az is looking particularly well put-together. Always appreciate her appearances. These are the flavors I love, so this is a must do for me. Looking forward to it!
Late comment as I was waiting for the Amaro but this is going to be a big favourite. I substituted Lillet Rouge for the sweet vermouth. Fantastic thank you so much.
Awesome as usual! You and Steve are the ones that got me starting up my home bar and I am eternally grateful. In fact your videos of the essential bar tools and the essential bottles are my foundation. Its the first day of the Lunar New Year where I am right now and here’s wishing you a Happy and prosperous Lunar New Year! (Idea for a new vid perhaps..? 😝😂)
This one works with a number of blended whiskies too! Monkey Shoulder & Famous Grouse may be easier to find and are great in this drink - even though their flavor profiles are different from Edradour.
Being I don’t have Edradour and it is slightly peated, would you go with a Highland Park 12 for the smoky notes or possibly a Tomatin 12 for the herbal notes?
Got Steve’s book on your recommendation. Spent the day reading it and trying the recipes. The best part was the QR codes accompanying each recipe that link to Steve’s videos on making that drink. If anyone else happened to be thinking about writing a cocktail book 🤔, the QR code idea is a really nice touch.
Hey Anders! Perfect drink for a wet, cold day! Made 2 versions - 1 with Oban, Drambuie, Cocchi, Cinpatrazzo & Orange bitters, the other with Johnny Double Black and both were outstanding. There is one downside to your drink recipes - they go down FAST!!! 🥳 Love it, keep them coming! And so cool that you did a shout out to Steve the Bartender - we love his channel too!
From Ravi’s Wife…personally, I prefer your channel Anders. 😊 The Johnny Double Black is really good for this but I need to go get a Highland Scotch and try this again!
Edradour in Perthshire is the smallest distillery in Scotland. My friend Gordon Duncan was piper in residence at Edradour and composed the bagpipe classic "The Edradour Stagger"....Anders, this needs to be the name of your next whisky creation! I now live in Elora, Canada and on Wednesday next, Burns Night, my local cocktail bar will be serving the Bobbie Burns as per your recipe, with me providing some Burns songs and a truckload of haggis. Your channel is an absolute delight- informative and informal, just encouraging of the joys of good drinks. Thank you!
