After three years of discipline, I've finally achieved my dream skin. If it keeps improving, great, but as of now I'm happy to be in the maintenance phase. Having beautiful skin is most definitely a flex, almost in the same vein as a bodybuilder who can proudly show off their physique. My biggest advice to others is consistency. You have to be patient, your dream skin won't come overnight. Don't get discouraged, it will take time but the results are worth it.
Hey Docs! Can you please make a video discussing the relationship between gut health and skin health? It'll be an interesting watch. Thanks for your informative content as always. ❤
Absolutely!! I had acne for years, saw multiple dermatologists and not one asked about frequency of BM... Once I addressed that issue my acne disappeared!!
Thank you so much for your no 💩 skincare advice. I am sure there are thousands of us who you helped immensely with your informative content. THANK YOU! ❤
Thank you. I was talking to someone today who doesn’t have a skin care routine and wants to jump to cosmetic procedures. My advice was to get into a skin care routine first because any procedure needs a solid foundation.
So so helpful!!! I've been considering seeing a dermatologist and now I know I've got an A+ in foundational skin care I'm so thankful I have watched a couple years of your videos to get me there!!
Great education! Learned to perceive skin care differently, and I’m in my sixties. Will make my foundation skin care my powerhouse from here forward & use other products knowing I’m upping my game. Thank you!
Thank you, Dr. Shah, for not plugging your products in every video. Btw, can't wait to receive Remedy for dark spots. 6 months on Tret, consistent with my antioxidants, SPF, topicals' Faded just ain't doing it. So very excited to try out your product for those pesky sun spots 🎉
Thank you both for sharing and caring for the health of our skin 😊 Since I've been wearing sunscreen every day, I've noticed that my skin being sensitive with Rosacea and from the sun - isn't as irritated as before. I use a fragrance free Micellar water with Aloe Vera. My cleanser is the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle fragrance free Daily cleanser , along with a few favorites from Vanicream - the Moisturizing Lotion & SPF 30 . Take care everyone ⛱😎
Thank you for the evidence based advice on foundational skin care! I especially appreciated the information on intermittent skin regressions (times where skin appears worse or goes through "rough spots". Thanks, Docs.
This made a lot of sense--thanks for posting! Now I understand where I'm at on that curve, and also how to proceed from here. (Now if I can just manage to *regularly* use my foundational skincare...)
Since January, I have kept my routine tight. But sometimes, I feel like my routine makes my skin worse. I mean, I want to get rid of my acne, but the products that are supposed to remove them make it worse. At that point, I understand that I have reached the plateau phase. So, I take a break from my routine for a few days or a week. I use only cleanser and sunscreen. Then, when I go back to my routine, my skin gets better.
Thank you.❤ You have confirmed what my DO has asked me to do. I was originally upset when he said that I needed to first use metrogel for 3 months prior to him referring me to dermatology. I have a full skin care routine in place including the metrogel and am patiently waiting for my first derm appointment for rosacea. I am hoping the dermatologist will prescribe azaleic acid and possibly perform Vbeam. I had Vbeam twice before and it really helped with the texture but I didn't have a full skin care routine in place for it to do much with the rosacea. Maybe this time around I will see more benefits. I will follow the DO's and your wonderful advice!
Hope there is a video in the future about how the average person can increase their access to a dermatologist. While many of us might want the guidance and expertise of a doctor when we don't have life-altering skin conditions (and especially when we do!), this is simply out of reach when navigating many health plans.
Yes, I hope they can cover how this might work or not in the US health insurance landscape. Only time I could see a dermatologist on a HMO plan was after I exhausted all my PCP’s options for acne. That was 20 years ago. My issue now is aging and wrinkles. I could probably save up for a med spa and such but how do we pay for Rx meds?
WOW, that was Amazing!!! You read my mind. I have been ready to move forward but couldn’t decide where to go first. Now I know, it’s red light for me. Can you please share your opinion on a red light face mask over the more affordable smaller red light panels?? Very much appreciated.
2:21 @Doctorly would you please consider doing a video of the dos and don'ts of actually washing off and applying products from the skin? Like, squeezing a glob onto the palm and smooshing it on both palms then rubbing up and down on the face versus using fingertipa only versus applicators/washcloths, etc. like, a basics of HOW...
Thanks for all the great info you two provide. You guys are basically my dermatologists bc the 3 near me are female doctors that won't see male patients. After them it's about 80 miles to the closest dermatologist. I just do what I can
I think when a doctor tells me what I can do for myself is going to be my favorite doctor and the one I will approach for future help. So when you said it isn’t necessarily going to increase your practice I look at it differently. The doc that always writes prescriptions is scary because I’m just a “test dummy”.
Recommendations for exfoliating acids? I’ve been using a glycolic & use all other products mentioned as well as Vitamin C and I am definitely at a plateau :( Always a pleasure watching your videos ✌️💛😉
I’m 55 and have been told by an aesthetician that I have the skin of a 30 year old. I take care of my skin, exfoliating 3x/wk, use sunscreen and I use REMEDY pore refine alternating with standard retinol. I also take hydrolyzed collagen daily and use red light therapy 4x/wk. It’s really not a lot of work or products. It’s a simple routine that has paid off (so far). I agree that you need to have a good skin care foundation before graduating to things like RLT.
That just boils down to hormones, good exercises, & a clean diet. Going anti inflammatory with your food choices & cutting out dairy/gluten may help. Test it out & see what works for you. Drink warm water with chia seeds lemon every morning & that will do wonders both for your skin, digestion, & overall health. Balances out your ph & detoxifies your body. It’s not just what we put on our skin externally & procedures etc but what we intake & our stress etc that contributes to these breakouts. Treat your body like a temple. Best of luck on your skincare & wellness journey! 🙏🏼
No matter what I did, I always suffered from acne throughout most of my adult life. The only thing that worked for me was going to the dermatologist and getting Accutane..
I actually think I have hit the barrier, and I am fine with this. My skin is the best it can be using products at home, and while it might improve slightly with some expensive procedure, I am satisfied with 1 pimple a month 😊 I have no wrinkles at 40 and discoloration is minimal.
It’s funny that this is exactly how I built my current skincare routine. Not because I knew about the graph they just explained but because I’m broke and have to buy a little at a time lol. Sunscreen and cleanser was literally the first thing I invested in. My skin is AMAZING now and after several months in I just bought a vitamin c. My next step is saving for devices and Botox around my mouth.
I'm also broke most of the time. My best experience was when I wasn't working and recieved allowance from the governement. I never took so much care of my hair, it grow to my tail bone. Now I work, but don't have the time anymore, and same goes for my skin. I work under the sun most of the time. 😭 You do need money, to invest in products, devices, medical procedure, ... sure !!! But time, and attention that's what care is about. 💝
Could you do a video on when to start your skin care journey and a routine for teens? I’m a teen on acutane and I want to know what is ok and not ok to use for my age. I love your guys videos and want to pursue dermatology in the future.

Thank you ☺️ I get it, I feel the same way, for some reason in the summer, I feel like my skin gets weird and I don’t know what to do. Maybe is because of the ac and the hot and humid weather outside, idk it’s just weird I think my skin gets confused hahahaha 😂😅 Could you please make a video on laser? I absolutely love your channel that I had to make an account so I could write this comment 😅 I was wondering if there were any radio frequency devices you would recommend and is it important to stick to the same brand skincare range to get the best results? Was thinking of using ULTRACEUTICALS, what are your thoughts on this brand? Wish I could purchase your product in my country! You both are amazing! Ever since I started watching your channel I have had better skin and now I’m up to my next step. Please help 🙏 thank you for your time

would love to hear your recommendations for a seborrheic dermatitis routine! im struggling to figure out how to complement my prescription shampoo and zinc bar with the rest of my skincare routine (like sunscreen, moisturizer, serum, etc)
For (very) oily skin is using an SPF as moisturizer ok, even if it's not marketed as "hydrating"? Or is actual moisturizer still necessary? I feel like no matter what I do, the combination of moisturizer + SPF just makes my skin excessively oily, especially in the summer.
Thank you for great tips, I also have a questions regarding a tapes for face to help with a little bit wrinkles. Which type of tapes you will recommend it?
I've been using retinol for about a month and still haven't seen improvement in skin glow and texture. So was thninking to move to tretinoin. After seeing this video I've decided to try and be consistent for 3 even 6 months ? and see what happens.
U explained it grate - thank you! I have one question regarding SPF - I live in Sweden, In the summer months the UV is high and defenently in need of SPF, but in autumn and winter the sun leaves us around 5 PM and is not that strong during the day. Is SPF really necessary EVERY day? or is that more if you live in places like California or Singapore? thank you in advance for the answer

But time, and attention that's what care is about. 💝
Frequency? Red light mask every day? Tretinoin everyday? The basics, spf, every day whether in or out doors? In short no days off?
