- This video is a post-travel video that reviews the art supplies that I packed and took with me on vacation. I was out for two weeks, and some supplies were used, and some were not. See which ones I’ll take again and which ones I’ll leave behind.

It's so refreshing to see a post vacation review!~ Thank you for sharing❤
Thank you for your comment. I’m glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Thank you very much! This is so helpful.
My take home message is - small journal or two, 2 or 3 pens, 2 water brushes and maybe 2 other brushes, small tin of good mixing colours and away we go! Maybe a pencil. Maybe.
Pretty much. I’m going to be packing for another trip soon so let’s see how well I learn from this one. Lol
Age brings resolution to many problems. I’m no spring chicken and these days my travel set consists of a little sketch pad like the black one you have, a small tin of 6 half pans, a matching small tin of cut down pencil, rubber, sharpener and paintbrushes and a small bottle of water. The sketch pad, two small tins and bottle of water fit on the flat of my hand.
Mine varies. When I go out a lot in a shorter span of time, I start to slim down. When I haven’t gone out in a long time, I seem to revert back to taking everything I can think of, and then start over with thinking out them more I go out. Lol
Thanks for doing a post-vacation video to show us what you actually used. I always end up taking more supplies than I need too!
Thanks for the comment. I’ve seen a lot of “Here’s what to pack” videos, but I really wanted to do this post video because that can have a good amount of info as well. I hope it helped. I’ll post another one next time I travel. 😎
Post-vac video is an amazing idea ❤ so useful. I'm traveling mostly on car so sometimes my "art kit" gets out of control becouse I want everything, even sometimes acrylic paints and canvas 😅 so it's always good to cut some of supplies you not using right now.
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it. I’m glad that the video helped. I am going on an Alaskan cruise in a few months and plan to pack acrylics and watercolors, so stay tuned for that one.
I'm an over-packer as well so I very much appreciate the post-vacation follow-up. I sometimes wonder if I bring everything and the kitchen sink because I just want to feel like I'm home...
I appreciate your comment. I used to travel a lot for work, but the first thing I’d start packing were my art supplies then everything else. The best feeling is when you have a sudden and crazy idea to draw or paint and actually HAVE what you need to make it happen. 😎
When I watched your other video, I thought you overpacked, but I didn't post any comment then. We have the same "special" pen case but mine's usually not packed to the brim because I just bring basic stuff and no redundancy ( for example, only 2-3 brushes of different sizes). Thanks for posting this video. It's informative and helpful.
Thank you for your comment. Heh, I have a habit of overpacking, so I figured I did too. But I usually go on a trial and error process, so that gives me the opportunity to slim down the trip after and after that. This video helps me remember so next time I can adapt. I’ve gone a few trips after this video and have slimmed down some. I plan to post another video about that as well.
@ArroLyfeArt I look forward to seeing that video then. I can relate in some way. There are just too many great art supplies that I can't help to have it. But this video reminds us that we don't really need too many tools to make great art.
Very true. It IS very tempting to just collect art supplies. But with imagination and creativity, one can make wonders.
I always find it interesting what lands up getting used. I really enjoyed this video and have now subbed. :)
Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun making it. 😀
Yay - been wanting to hear how it worked out!! Very interesting results. Love that black pen case. I bought it after I saw the part 1 of this vid.
Thank you for the feedback. I had a feeling I’d have different ideas once I returned from that trip. I knew I just had to share and talk about them. Thank for watching and enjoy your case. I love it too!
Ah, Pilot Kakuno. You, sir, are, undoubtedly, a man of fine tastes. I salute you! 💪
Thank you. They are some pretty fun pens to write and even draw with.
@@ArroLyfeArt Couldn't agree more. I loved mine so much, I ended up acquiring the other two sizes. Just amazing little things.
And all but the spiral bound will fit in the blue/white case even the packed slim black pencil case. And you have a 6 & 8 travel boxes in your koi palette box. So I would lose the 6 & Princeton and one of the 2 #4’s you have.
Yeah, I did have way too many brushes. Normally I pack less, but these were recent acquisitions and wanted to try them out. Lol
Too much stuff is fine but it's heavy . Slimming things down is a good idea, the more you go out the better you know yourself.
That’s very true. It’s hard not to take everything, but the more you travel, the more you realize what you’re really using.
I’m always to embarrassed to draw or paint in public. I’m going to give it a try soon.
It’s a hard and scary thing to do, but when you finally show that work, it feels really great.
I challenge you to do it this month if you havn't yet!
Take what you're happy to carry! I always overpack and take a little bit of everything. Ultimately all you really need though is that bic pen, the mini paint set and a waterbrush. Depends on where you're going. Glad you had a good holiday.
Thanks again. I like to try a lot of different things depending where I go, so I try to be prepared. Heh, that means I end up taking a lot of stuff. But I always make room for it. Hehehe
plus a sketchbook!
I have the same case, and was going to trial and error it, so thank you so much, you saved me alot of time. You use the same things I do, which makes it easier
I’m very glad I could help. I plan to do a similar video in the future for packing plein air painting supplies. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for that or for watercolor/drawing.
Great video
Thank you very much
