I think Biollante is one of the only Kaiju who can roar and scream to be so menacing and intimidating but also has wails and cries that are sympathetic. She is one of my favorite kaiju top five.

There's no confirmation or evidence that Biollante is coming back for _GODZILLA: Planet of the Monsters_. The only monster whose appearance is confirmed is Godzilla. Some other kaiju are mentioned in the film's timeline, but Biollante isn't one of them.

It's interesting really. Biolantes backstory is similar to godzillas. A product of tragedy that turned innocence into monsters, with science that should not be allowed to exist. They truly are the exact same creature. But it's neither Godzilla or biollante that are monsters. It's the unscrupulous scientist that created them that are monsters.
"Science that should not be allowed to exist" you know if we listened to people who thought like that then we would still be in the dark ages which means you wouldn't have the very thing you wrote your comment on
They are not the exact same. They’re not even close to the same. Godzilla was an accident, a product of reckless nuclear power. Biollante was intentionally created by a grieving scientist. Now, maybe he didn’t intend for Biollante to become what she is, but her creation was no mistake.
Also, saying “science that shouldn’t be allowed to exist” is kind of dumb. The Godzilla series is about humans’ ignorance and misuse of science that causes their own downfall. That doesn’t mean the science itself is bad. It’s how you use it.

Biollante is also the most monstery monster of all the others in the Godzilla franchise. Her appearance down to how she was created proves this. She also has one of the most unsettling and legit scary sounding roars as well. Shes an abomination of science, that to me is what makes a monster.

You know, given that Biollante has the unique position of being a Kaiju with some measure of human conciseness, I actually think a stand alone move about that coming more to the forefront would be really interesting. Exploring what it's like to come back to real self awareness, with memories of what its like to be human, but also a full working knowledge of what you are now, and in what ways that both diminishes you, and what ways that makes you more than a human could truly comprehend being.
Maybe set her up to have a similar roll to Mothera, were she's a protectress to counter balance all the "force of destruction" type Kaiju we have in the stable.
Director Kazuki Omori was actually interested in doing a solo film based on Biollante, though it never came to pass. But Biollante is more popular now than ever before, and Toho executives reportedly expressed interest in spinoff films focusing on kaiju besides Godzilla in the future.
I'd ve very interested to see them pick her up for a spinoff. Especially if they decided to explore that idea, again, of her regaining more of her human conciseness and memory's, and playing with that character arc angle.
Hell, they could even Acknowledge in conversations that this is taking place in either the Shin or Legendary Godzilla Universe's, and then for giggles, they could get Zilla in there as the bad guy and let fans watch Biollante murder it on screen. XD!

Scariest one tho
Most of the roars of Biollante in most media are Whale songs. However, when the Rose form is destroyed, you can see her Beast form for a brief moment. Her roar at that point is a whale song combined with an elephant roar, providing a truly horrifying sound that is strangely missing from most depictions of her.

Has it ever been confirmed that Biollante may have a level of psychic abilities? In the film, Miki diverts Godzilla's coastal landing through her own abilities. The film makers opted to use brilliant red flashes of light to portray this phenomenon playing out and if you'll notice at the end of GvB's final battle those exact same flashes are shown immediately prior to Godzilla leaving the fight and stumbling into the ocean (the bright center of the flashes emanates from Biollante's core/brain region as well). It's very quick and subtle, but I think that Erika manages to accomplish the same feat as Miki from inside Biollante. Originally, I always thought that the ANEB had finally kicked in and Godzilla more or less felt sick and was fleeing, but ever since a few years back I've started to think that there was more to that scene. I like the idea of Erika coming back and saving the day; that her preserved spirit was capable and strong enough to prevent Godzilla from destroying another nuclear reactor like in '84 (and subsequently caused the monster to fall dormant prior to Heisei Ghidorah's creation). It would also explain exactly why Erika's face appears in the sky after the battle and why Biollante even appeared at all; Erika was making a conscious effort to stop Godzilla. Am I the only one who thinks this?
I think the red flashes were just a technique they used to show that biollante was dying, similar to spacegodzilla glowing red, except they didn't have the technology so they chose to flash lights.
@@GSTE_ Most likely yes, but I do love that idea. It's a tragedgy Erika's character is all but forgotten in and outside of the film when discussing Biollante.
@@thedappercritter6644 well I mean I think that mostly is because erika wasn't really shown through biollante, biollante was kind of just another monster.
Sure they could have done something with this in the film, but as shown in the film erika isn't there in biollante since miki says it's just a monster now. Only after biollante dies is erika released.
If anything I think spacegodzilla has more in depth stuff with his character since he was shown to have very high intelligence and actual motives for doing things.

Biollante attacked Godzilla first. He simply came to Lake Ashi to observe her after hearing her calls, and she panicked and attacked him. He did not retaliate until Biollante had already attacked him several times.

Perfect Chaos from Sonic Adventure?
I know this is an old video, but one could argue that Biollante does possess some flight ability, be it non-traditional. Her spore form ascended to the clouds both times when retreating to heal and evolve. And it was very convenient that she reappeared in her final form right in front of Godzilla. Either the wind is coincidentally on her side, or she has full control of the navigation of her spore form in the air.
In that sense, Biollante can surely fly.

It's funny how the American audience always sees Biollante as a human- Rose- Godzilla hybrid. This is not the case. When the good doctor's daughter died she died next to a rose. The doctor believed that her soul went into that rose. So he cultivated the rose and made sure it grew and stayed strong. He then brought in Mickey to speak to the Rose in hopes to talk to his dead daughter's soul. Just as he was about to give up and convince himself the rose was just a rose Mickey since the doctor's daughter just before she left in the car. Then the storm happened and almost killed the rose. The doctor decided to continue his work in order to save his daughter's life as a rose. This concept of a human Spirit inhabiting a plant is very alien to Americans. They do not understand Japanese mythology or more accurately spiritual beliefs. I don't fully understand it myself but from what I gathered from watching Godzilla versus Biollante Japanese often believe that if the spirit is not ready to move on to the next existence it will inhabit the nearest living body. In the good doctors daughters case she jumped into the rose that her father had placed on her desk.

It says a lot that Biollante is one of the few characters that make me root _against_ Godzilla. She quite literally did _nothing_ to him at first. She still has the mindset of a traumatized, scared young woman. And her roars and wails are sometimes eerily similar to the sound of crying.
Biolante is interesting because of some name. That reminds me Biohazard (a.k.a Resident Evil) in a scary meaning. I remind this movie when I was child.
I think Biollante is the most likely cause of Spacegodzilla. She was able to grow and evolve rapidly herself, which could have been amplified when merging with the crystaline lifeforms to create Spacegodzilla.

Godzilla vs Biollante was one of the movies for rent at a local video store when I was a kid. I never got around to seeing it, but the cover for the cassette was always so cool looking to me. I could also never actually remember the name of the other monster, so I just kept calling it "Ballentera"
So, let's all work together and force Toho and/or Legendar to give us ANOTHER plant monster called "Ballentera" for Godzilla to fight!
Monsterverse biollante would be cool but instead of having human DNA it would have skull crawler. Considering humans were messing with bio stuff and skull crawlers have a crocodilian face, it could work.

what do you mean, godzilla's atomic breath defeated biollante twice in the film and it only took a few blasts of atomic breath on biollante to finish her off, and this was even after godzilla was affected by anti nuclear energy bacteria, which is what knocked him out temporarily.

My version of Biollante in the Garciaverse is mostly an Earth Defender, protecting Humanity rather than destroying the world
I don't normally watch the old versions of the Profiles but man watching it and comparing it with the newer ones really shows the growth.
I mean the speaking in this one is noticeably faster compared to newer ones and I'm glad that they slowed down in the newer ones to allow the listener to take in and comprehend what is being said.
Something even as minor as the transitions between each part is improved where here they still say the name of the part, they instead just use really nice yet concise visuals. Even the opening stats have had improved visuals.
This monster began a Heisei trend where the original monsters had four or more tusk-like structures on the v of the jaw. Batra, and Space Godzilla had four. Biollante and Destoroyah had six.

They can work her into the Monsterverse since where ever the titans destroy becomes plants and one of the places was Las Vegas which had nuclear bombs detonated near it, so the nuclear energy goes into the plants in Vegas and creates Biollante
